Top game 1 concerns : Houston DE Hunter & Anderson
IMO a top 3 DE duo in the NFL as pass rushers. Very concerned with MS going vs them and our OT Hav/Jackson having a few issues and zero pre season snaps. It might make some sense seeing how these DE handle a Run heavy dose out of the box.Along these lines was sorry to see the Rams release the only semblance of a power RB we had in the final cuts - McVay seems to go a different route in his run game roster set up . Like all Ram fans priority #1 would certainly be to keep MS upright and safe.

Yes, time for a heavy dose of 12 personnel; protecting Stafford must be Job 1 this season.

I totally agree. Especially if Alaric starts. He didn't play all off-season. Plus the Rams/McVay must focus on protection over anything else.Claremontram wrote: ↑August 27th, 2025, 7:57 am Yes, time for a heavy dose of 12 personnel; protecting Stafford must be Job 1 this season.
I am still super pissed regarding the Philly playoff game, because McVay/OC thought it was smart to flare Kyren out in the flat instead of keeping him in to block - why? We were down to the end of the game the #1 priority is not taking a sack
. Sometimes being more conservative will benefit the Rams and it will benefit Stafford to have more time to survey the field.
We have a top 3 wr Corp they need to win and by keeping a TE in or to chip with a RB staying in will let Matt focus down field.

Rams about to enter a new era of the dink and dunk? W TE's, sounds like it.
Keep Matt protected, make playoffs.

agree with all of you. the DE tandem Houston has is legit no doubt. Which ever LT is having a tough time put a TE over there to help. can ill afford Stafford getting hit hard

First of all how long have we watched McVay n his offense? He is just going to run his offense……………
Houston is good. On paper they are probably one of the toughest games on our schedule and it is the 1st one. For a team that doesn’t change in regards to their starters not getting any reps during the preseason. As we have seen in the past the “rust” will probably be there against Houston especially on offense. McVay defines “it is a 17 game schedule” and is committed to his “process”……………

I've always liked it when teams ran directly at aggressive edge rushers. It keeps them guessing and puts them on their heels a little bit. A perfectly timed screen behind an aggressive rush would make them think twice too.RonMac wrote: ↑August 27th, 2025, 5:53 am IMO a top 3 DE duo in the NFL as pass rushers. Re: Top game 1 concerns : Houston DE Hunter & Anderson
I’m most interested to see a couple things:
#1. Has our offense changed at all or is Stafford going to throw it to Puka every time? Last few years it’s been one guy gets all the targets whether it was Kupp or Puka. Stafford needs to spread it around and not get tunnel vision
#2. Verse. Has he taken that leap to being a superstar?
#3. What does Davante Adams have left in the tank? I’m highly skeptical. I just see this guy having a D’Andre Hopkins type end to his career. These super old WRs usually fall off a Cliff
I’m not all that concerned with Stafford’s health in that I don’t think there’s that much drop off going to Jimmy. Stafford clearly has a much higher peak level, but Jimmy can play complimentary football too especially if the defense is going to carry the team

Re: Top game 1 concerns : Houston DE Hunter & Anderson
I guess I'll be the first one to mention the Rams defense. They really came together and by the end of the year they were dominating opponents. They had 9 sacks against the Vikes and 7 more against Philly. Houston might try and get after Stafford but Stroud has a tougher road because he is missing some OL. They have a promising rookie starting at LT but let's see how he does against a brutal Rams DL. Stroud could get chased out of the pocket all day and throw some picks. It might be up to the defense to win some games this year starting week 1.

No way our D gives up that many points with Houston’s RB1 out and their WR2 N WR3 are rookies because Dell n Kirk are out.

Crack is more like it. ;-)
Houston has a great D. We will score more than 7 points.
Our D is decent - Houston will score less than 35.
The game will be somewhere in between. 24-17 or 27-21 Good guys.
