Shaun Dolac why wasn't he drafted makes zero sense

Post by malibu »

Buffalo is not a big school but Dolac lead the nation in Tackles with 168, lead the nation in interceptions at 5 and ran a 4.54 forty for a ILB is amazing.

He weighs 225 and is 6'1" so what Barron was a light ILB but this guy for a UDFA seems like the ultimate steal of the draft. He can add weight but to have that many tackles you need to be really instinctual.

I think the Rams got a home run in Dolac.

Let's hope so. Surprising that nobody took a flyer.

It is the definition that everyone evaluates talent differently. Doesn’t mean that player can’t play…………..

Funny, but the narrative on Stewart, Paul, and Dolac seem to revolve around them being small for the position.
Then my thoughts turn to London Fletcher, and that makes it all better. :D

My point is why would it even be a flyer? This is not about you pov it is about he was an All American, top stats. Strangely wasn't invited to any of the bowl or the combine again why. Is Buffalo a discounted school several great pros have come out of there.

Why did Buffalo pass, they held a camp where he participated in. Is his 4.54 not important or all those Tackles and Ints super odd.

Small is a absolutely stupid metric. Most ILBs are only 2" taller. Height never hurt Drew Brees or Russell Wilson or a huge 2nd contract for Kyler Murray.

Unless you are Pat Haden.

Well, Pat Haden was highly intelligent (Rhodes scholar) and an accurate short-to-intermediate-range passer, however he couldn't consistently throw deep and lacked overall athleticism.

Playing QB for a team as talented as the mid-to-late-1970s Rams, the guy enjoyed considerable regular-season success yet struggled in the playoffs; his postseason record was 2-3, 1-2 vs. the Vikings and 1-1 vs. the Cowboys.

In retrospect, our team should have kept Ron Jaworski to be its starting QB, perhaps with Haden as his backup... :? ;) :geek:

We will see. Paul was a seasoned veteran of SEC clashes, this kid needs to demonstrate he can produce at high levels where the competition is great. Hope he works out at least on Special Teams.

khalil Mack excelled at Buffalo and was a high first round pick, would have been decent for them to select this kid to one of the all star bowls

i think he's going to be good but let's not forget Troy Reeder was a tackling machine with good instincts from a small school who ran i believe a sub 4.6 forty, let's hope McVay gets a real look at his talent, sometimes our talent doesn't get out there early enough. now with Speights, Paul and Dolac maybe we have a nice influx of LBer talent

I remember a short-to-intermediate pass that got picked off in the endzone in the playoffs vs. the Vikings. As a kid that broke my heart.

My first Rams pre-season game at LA Coliseum had three QB’s James Harris, Ron Jaworski, and Pat Haden.
