I didn't say 1st round...just guys you like for the Rams at any point in the draft.

Nobody is playing particularly well at the moment, so it could be anybody.
But I'm going to go with Fleetwood or Zalatoris. These guys tend to hang around, and I think one of them could put together 4 good rounds. Yeah, I suppose you could say that about anybody, but I'm going with one of these guys.

Yeah, I was thinking they won't pay him retail because they are going to pay retail for Purdy, and maybe give him a tip on top of it.

On Cowherd today, Joel Klatt mentioned that the Rams like 3 guys - Hampton, Loveland, and Egbuka...said we would move up for Hampton.
Hampton reminds me of Eric Dickerson, only a bit more of a bruiser. I'm not sure how much draft capital it would take to move up to around #11 or wherever they feel ...

On another note about this draft - I notice people ranting about the Rams not drafting a CB this year.
Well, my thought on that is that we drafted a pretty good pass rusher in Stewart. A more intense pass rush means the secondary gets help right there.

There seems to be a love/hate vibe to our draft this year. But check out this draft:

Round 2 - Chris Paul - LB
Round 3 - Terrance Ferguson - TE
Round 4 - Ty Hamilton - DT
Round 5 - Josaiah Stewart - Edge
Round 6 - Jarquez Hunter - RB

No wonder we look at Quarterback options every offseason and flirt with Drafting one. This is the reason why 2026 with two 1st Rounders is the year we need to pounce on a Top 10 Quarterback pick.

As far as this year goes, I have full confidence in Garoppolo to steer the ship while Staff is out ...

It's not about preseason stats - it's about other things like traits and how the player grasps the concepts. :idea:

One final (maybe) comment on this:
How is it that the FG unit was so bad on those last 2 FG's, but the first 4 were just fine? Did a couple of the guys just forget how to block during the game? Did they get lazy? Did the Eagles make some sort of adjustment?
On replay I saw at least one Rams block ...

You don't pay a guy $10M to sit around.
My thought is that, in the same way the Eagles yesterday faked a tush-push and handed the ball to Barkley for a TD to the outside, the Rams will also surprise teams with getting Tutu the ball in certain situations.

I think this might be the worst Rams loss ever. It has to at least be in the top 5.
I thought the Super Bowl loss to the Pats was bad - being favored by 2 TDs. The cheating. But at least it was against a young Brady.

We just got done dominating the 9ers on the previous drive. Their D was probably gassed.

Why not take the ball, ram it down the field, and force the 9er's to do something special?

Yeah, I know...but to me it was just one of the many blunders we witnessed last night. And I really wasn't sure why we would defer.

It doesn't bother me.
What would bother me is if Higs got hurt, and we actually needed him to play and he sucked.

I'm hoping that teams will be scouting the Rams based on what they did before the bye week, and the Rams will change the offense a little (add a new wrinkle) and get Ferguson more ...
