Try not to see everything through Trump-colored glasses.

And also try reading the article...the NFL secures an alternative SB site EVERY year just in case of any unforeseen eventuality.

They just postponed the Grammys. To be consistent it’s entirely possible the Super Bowl could be moved.

Maybe lose some of that Trump Derangement Syndrome.

From a Rams team perspective, even if the Rams make the SB, imo it won't be a big deal. The rams are playing at home this week and I doubt they have a real home field advantage. The SB, true home field advantage for the rams..? yeah right, no shot. Rams fans will be selling those seats to the highest dollar like some will this week against the niners.

Hmmm... That's huge money lost. Just huge. Hopefully things improve to where it's not necessary. I wanted that home venue stadium in case the Rams do make it. I get it. I do. I'm just really tired of the rona

Another post going political right away. Maybe anything Covid related belongs in off topic this week. Its Niners week. Lets talk football not Covid because we all ( well most of us) know thats a political topic. Send it to Off Topic and attack away. So tired of politics right now. Yeah OFF TOPIC is a perfect place for this one Moderators.

Question, how is this off topic OR political? It has to do w the SB being moved. Isn’t it the game plan to try and play in our own home for the SB?

Was never political. Its guys like you and Grackler that take it that way. Which is really unfortunate.

I mean Why? Because I mentioned the Gov’s name? Oh goodness. Has nothing to do w that. He’s the guy that makes the decision, so yes, I said Newsome. So what.

Oh, and this will stay in Rams topic, since it has to do w our team and maybe not being able to play in our home field the the big dance. Don’t be so sensitive man. But it’s staying right here. Sorry. Not sorry
Not going to argue with you DM. Go ahead. Flood the board with non football related items as usual and then get your panties in a bunch when someone calls you on it. So you’re in charge of the board now? Probably news to Upland but if you say so. I just am tired of politics on a football forum. Sorry buddy but you just don’t get it. I respect others beliefs and politics but quite frankly I don’t come here to hear about them. I’m just going to block you now Commissioner. Adios amigo.

I don't get into these personal rants between long time posters but the topic was made political the minute you mentioned the Governor-a politician with political motives to move the event if that happens. I hope it doesn't happen and can understand why it would happen regarding public safety but it is an outdoor venue and we just played multiple games here so why move it???

A thread regarding the SB possibly changing venues IS NOT a political thread. It’s about football more so than any other thread. It’s the SB for crying out loud………

DM the mentioning of the governor in the tone that you did, in the title of the thread and in your first sentence, is the issue IMO. Wording it the way you did was a “read between the lines” way for you to remind the rest of us how you feel about him. It then became “a bit political “ IMO………

Now back to this Sunday…………

Honestly, let's have some common sense. Does anyone think you have a lesser chance of catching Covid in Arlington than in Glendale? Maybe? Maybe not? Foolishness. Are they moving the National Championship Game between Alabama and Georgia. Nope. This is all political. Therefore, I suggest keep your hopes up. I am a native Californian. Moved away 20 years ago and glad I did. Go Rams

now I think you know the answer to that question. this will be a huge economic loss for the city of Inglewood and surrounding cities. I listened to the radio yesterday with the may of Inglewood and while he was optimistic he is also a politician with zero clout re: this topic. Positive aspect of this is the surge is supposedly going to be at its peak in the next couple of weeks. If Newsom does cancel this if I were him I wouldn't make any public appearances for a while

First of all, thank you sir. I appreciate your post. I always have. We can disagree and still be pals. This is exactly a great way on how one should communicate with another poster.

You see what NorCal did here? He made sense of both sides in a constructive way. He doesnt come in here like a bull in a china shop telling others what to post of not post. He does not demand anything.

To your point NorCal, I agree. Maybe I should have held off on exactly the 'tone' the way I said Newsome's name here. But I am just exhausted of it. Living in CA, and over twos years now of constant shut downs, mandates, fines... etc etc. Our Gov has been so quick to mandate things that it has hurt us more than it has helped us. He tells us all to follow these things, yet he goes out to dinners and does all the things he tells us not to do. Drives me nuts. And he is the one that will ultimately decide on IF we play the SB here or not. That was the ONLY reason I brought his name up. So, imo... Newsome has everything to do w this topic. I want our RAMS to be at home for the SB. It's already been postponed once, now again? Come on.

I work w many companies in LA, and a number of them have been gearing up for the SB for months. They all just finally started to get back on their feet again... then BOOM. To have this happen would just devastate them. I had one client tell me that he has invested millions into that wkend preparing.

The other part of this I did not mention, was If the Rams were going to the Super Bowl. I was going with another buddy. We were planning on dropping $2-4K each for seats. If its moved and our Rams get into the big show, I would just be livid. I am not going to damn Dallas for it, that is for sure.

Bottomline, its not fair to us CA people to move it. If you cant play here, than you cant play it anywhere. Has to be the same across the board imo.

So, I do not apologize for this post. Wording could have been different, sure... but bottomline, CA and LA County needs to pull their crap together. Hosting the SB will be fine. I mean come on, how is it any different in Dallas than having it here? Why? All because of these archaic lockdowns. I ave NO problem w mask, testing, whatever. But shutting everything down again, is not the answer.

Now, back to this Sunday.....

8-)
I'm not a Los Angeles area resident but I can fully understand the impact and resulting frustration on Ram fans who do live in the area. Very well articulated DM. You post would be perfectly at home on LA sports pages and so just as at home here.

No, it's simply a lie regardless.

I actually like this post…at least portions of it. Thanks DMR. I didn’t realize it was that much of a chance in moving the SB. I do hear about Newsome and some of his moves. 75% chance is crazy. Even 50% would make me nervous.

I personally think it will stay…SB is just way too big and a lot of $$. Not just actors like the Grammys.

This did not start out as a political post. Thanks for the heads up. (I may go reserve a room at 2nd site just in case SB gets moved.).

Crazy...I went to book a room in TX just in case I needed one. A lot of the rooms close to the stadium are already booked. If it is even an option of going you might want to book a room. You can always cancel.

Agreed 100%!!

Of course, what can you expect when a current political leader's name is included in the topic title?

That partisan 'put-down' could easily have been left off, but some people apparently can't stay away from political partisanship... :? :x

Me too, however obviously the "rona" isn't tired us of us yet, is it?

From reading national sports media articles on Super Bowl VI's location, from objective nonpolitical sources, it strikes me that the NFL is determined to hold it in SoFi Stadium unless there's a serious medical crisis.

Putting the prevention of unnecessary deaths above sporting events and business profits, I have *zero* problem with that approach--which unfortunately is rejected in many parts of Texas.

The Rams making it to the game as participants, that remains rather problematical at the moment... :( :?

Naming the only person that has the power to cancel the SB is not "political". It could have just as well said Goodell, but he's not considering cancelling it.
