I loved it when they traded for him. Was a huge fan. Had his moments with the Rams. Threw a nice deep ball.

Well, the Rams traded a lot for the guy, including William Fuller, however he was a very good QB during the 1988-89 seasons, unfortunately he couldn't maintain that level of performance going into the '90s.Ramsfan08ny wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2022, 1:01 pm

He's certainly not 'up there' with QBs such as Norm van Brocklin, Kurt Warner, Bob Waterfield or Roman Gabriel, however he did manage a couple of key playoff victories with our team during the '89 postseason...

Didn't like him at the time. He turned the ball over in pressure games but he did have a nice deep ball as was said.

Give me Ferragamo almost any day....just have to cut down on Vince's play-action passing-- too prone to be intercepted, just like in the Super Bowl vs the Steelers.

Jim Everett sucked. Almost as much as Tony Banks and Pat Haden.

Now this is real inside but do any of you remember calling him “General” Jim Everett back in the 80’s?

How different would the eighties have looked if we'd only held on to Jaws?

Re: Happy Birthday Jim, Best RAMS QB ever
88-89 60 TD's and led us to playoffs two years in a row 21-11 record as starting QB those two years. I also remember he came in to his first game after the big trade in 86 when our starting QB got hurt and led us to victory and to the playoffs that year as well. He had only been on the team for a few days or a week or so and didn't even know the playbook yet lol. Great size and arm talent but no pocket presence or escapability-reminds me of Goff big time......

I always felt bad for this guy when he was treated the way he was after the 49ers NFC championship game. Enjoyed watching him start his career with the RAMS and even went to the Saints game when he first returned to Anaheim. He beats us good...lol

Yup. General Blade. I think Dennis Harrah gave him the nickname because he was so tall and thin.EastBayRamsFan wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2022, 9:16 pm Now this is real inside but do any of you remember calling him “General” Jim Everett back in the 80’s?

He threw the pass to Flipper. The biggest play in my Ram's lifetime up until the 2000 SB.
I can't hate that.

Hated the guy after the "Phantom Sack". Most embarrassing moment in Rams' history. I actually threw the TV remote and broke it. Only time I ever did that.

I can't believe I re-watched that. It still sickens me to this day. That it was the NFC championship against the Whiners makes it even worse. Madden was being kind.DMRamFan wrote: ↑January 4th, 2022, 2:27 pm Everyone keeps bringing up the Phantom... Well for those who have not seen it.. here it is...
*Notice The GREAT John Madden nailed the commentary in here perfectly.
Oh Jimmy... just gave up on us... scared to get hit. ill never forget it either. I liked the guy, but this was a doozy and the beginning of the end of his time w us...

I would rate Bulger as his Ram equal. Fantastic with all of the parts. Not so much when they left one by oneCommish wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2022, 1:42 pmWell, the Rams traded a lot for the guy, including William Fuller, however he was a very good QB during the 1988-89 seasons, unfortunately he couldn't maintain that level of performance going into the '90s.Ramsfan08ny wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2022, 1:01 pm

Excellent deep ball passer. Brought us all hope back in 1983.

The phantom sack in the NFC championship game and a 30-3 loss is mostly what I remember most about Chrisy.
Great guy though.
