Rams draft thread
Looking at the potential picks the Rams have met with so far it would appear they are looking at fast WR's as well as CB's. They also met with Center Quinn Meinerz, and DL Chauncey Golston who can also line up on the Edge. Also a couple of versatile RB's. Demetric Felton, and Javian Hawkins.

Re: Rams draft thread
I like him too. Would look good on the Rams Line. Even with the Jackson signing I'm thinking the Rams may target the most speed they can get with that 2nd pick and will take a Wide Receiver or Running Backocram23 wrote: ↑March 27th, 2021, 10:55 pmI like Meinerz a lot going to be interesting to see how high he goes. his stock is rising big timetoast49 wrote: ↑March 27th, 2021, 4:25 pm Looking at the potential picks the Rams have met with so far it would appear they are looking at fast WR's as well as CB's. RB is the last thing we need. they need OL and LB's IMO

I agree. My prediction is McVay will go WR and RB with our first two picks. He loves offensive weapons.
Watch to see what else McSnead does with Free Agency, now that we are in the black. That's where they go Oline and LB.

Re: Rams draft thread
I think they'll probably add a vet or two upfront on Defense. Still some good options available for pass rushers who can play some snaps and provide additional pass rush. I think they are committed to adding more speed on Offense overall, and the draft is where they'll do itClaremontram wrote: ↑March 28th, 2021, 10:58 am Toast:

Re: Rams draft thread
I agree that speed on offense seems to be a focus as we were very one paced in 2020. Just wary that the we need the other pieces to showcase the speed? Henderson was one of the fastest players in his draft class but that has never really translated to the field?
I hope we look for speed later in the draft and address O line early on, not convinced we will though.

Rams historically used to always select LB's early in the draft, but under McVay they just haven't done it.

RB would be straight up malfeasance. Way more pressing needs.

Re: Rams draft thread
I'm hoping Wyatt Davis from Ohio St. falls to us in the 2nd. He was injured in the national championship game so I'm thinking he will slip. I don't see him going in the first in most mocks. If it wasn't for the injury he'd be a lock for the first. Potential 10 yr starter a guard.

Re: Rams draft thread
I would think so too, but more and more I'm seeing mocks that show him going either after or very close to where we pick in the 2nd. I know they're just mock draft, but if it happens we'd be dumb to pass. Not sure how much more time he'll need to rehab his injury, but he'd be worth the wait.ocram23 wrote: ↑March 28th, 2021, 6:29 pmI think he is still the top rated guard. Re: Rams draft thread
I know Davis well he went to Bosco, SoCal high school powerhouse, and has great lineage i.e. grandfather played for the Packers I believe. He would be a solid addition to the OL.NDIrishRam wrote: ↑March 28th, 2021, 6:43 pmI would think so too, but more and more I'm seeing mocks that show him going either after or very close to where we pick in the 2nd. Re: Rams draft thread
Allot depends on what transpires between now and April 29th.
If the Rams sign a center before the draft, I see us drafting and replacement for Whit, a CB, ILB, and speedy WR. In the late rounds, they probably will fill both lines with a few projects.
If no center is signed before the draft, pick 57 will probably be a center.

Yeah, I actually went to Bosco too. I graduated a long time before he went there though, but I've been watching him play for a long time now. If I'm not mistaken I believe his grandfather is George Foreman as well.ocram23 wrote: ↑March 28th, 2021, 7:29 pmI know Davis well he went to Bosco, SoCal high school powerhouse, and has great lineage i.e. grandfather played for the Packers I believe. Re: Rams draft thread
McVay's run at grabbing O weapons will (or should) end this year. There are always really solid OL picks in 2nd round. I am guessing we go there. DL/OLB is more needed, but I think the quality really goes down the more you move the draft. Also much harder to find a real talent at getting to the QB. I think they go OL, CB, WR, DL/OLB.

Re: Rams draft thread
Hit ratio should just be higher with OL.....so that could also mean if there is someone they really like on the D side, that will be the 2nd rounder. Hard to find guys who can get to the QB and cover a skilled WR.

Re: Why is nobody talking about Akers?
He was the real late season surprise last season and into the playoffs.
I think Cam Akers will be even better with our new QB (New Center hopefully).
Let’s not draft a RB or TE we are set at both positions. Cam is gonna be the story next year!

A first round RB, who was already a reach in the first round. When you already had the best player in the universe at the time as your starting RB.

Re: Rams draft thread
Remember the Trung Canidate pick well. I remember saying "who"? I believe the Rams had just lost RT Fred Miller to free agency; and Martz neglected to find a good replacement. It was the beginning of the end to losing the best QB the Rams ever had. Martz also got a good QB in Marc Bulger shell shocked because he neglected to protect him. If the Rams had kept Vermeil, elevated John Saunders to OC; and let Martz walk, there would have been a GSOT dynasty.D-GenerationX wrote: ↑March 30th, 2021, 7:40 amTRUNG CANDIDATE

Sounds like Martz had alot of bad drafts. Luckily McSnead knows how to draft.
