Re: 19 missed tackles. Wow
I think I said exactly this in another thread. I was not counting, but there were a TON of missed tackles on our side. And our RB got met and tackles at the LOS almost every down. Just more wrapping up and sure tackles from them. Who do we blame? Players? Morris? Both. It's unacceptable these angles they take and the lack of wrapping up. AD wraps up- and he prob doesn't have to with his strength. But watch him make a play. He wraps around the guy. JR does too MOST of the time. The others look like marcus Peters out there. Terrible- and it cost us the game. Basic fundamentals.

And yeah- Rapp sucks in coverage. He has no idea what he's doing.

Yep, I mentioned it at least once in the game thread. It was embarrassingly obvious that the Rams just couldn't even do a normal football function - TACKLE.RAMFAN71 wrote: ↑January 10th, 2022, 10:13 am I think I said exactly this in another thread. They must go low and wrap up those legs/ankles. OBO tried using his shoulder and it did not work.
They need to spend all this week on tackling.
Also too many wide open SF WRs.
Lastly, need to create running lanes for our RBs. I would run the Jumbo package with multiple TEs all game against Arizona and see if that provides a fix.

This team needs to beef up the Oline, get new linebackers, a new Def Coordinator and an O-Coordinator to call the plays. McVay is good on the sideline pumping guys up and running the length of the field.

I saw Donald being carried three and four yards down the field by niner backs. For whatever reason the Defense didn't come out for the second half

While there were a lot of missed tackles, you have to give a lot of credit fo the 49ers blockers who stuck with their block (sometimes holding) and just outmuscled the Rams so that the front seven were usually out of position and reaching for tackles.

They do need to but I doubt that NFL teams do any contact during the week anymore. It also seems to me that we're very thin on the defense. I noticed hardly any substitutions on the dline yesterday while we were getting worn down by their oline. Are our backups that bad?Claremontram wrote: ↑January 10th, 2022, 12:40 pm They must go low and wrap up those legs/ankles. OBO tried using his shoulder and it did not work.

Just like the Falcons in McVay’s first playoff game as HC, they put on a tackling clinic while the unfocused Rams wonder what happened.

Re: 19 missed tackles. Wow
Ummmm, I'm certainly not expecting that to happen.
Kyler Murray will be 'licking his chops' when he watches the game film of the Rams' defenders stumbling around aimlessly vs. the 49ers...
ram pathos...

Re: 19 missed tackles. Wow
That's the thing, they don't play that way against the Cards and Seattle. Rams have always struggled against the niners and then play Seattle and Cards well with great success.
The Niners look like world beaters vs the Rams but look weak vs Seattle and the Cards (this year).
Its all about Matchups

Re: 19 missed tackles. Wow
This practice is acceptable, there are no consequences for missed tackles, missed assignments, penalties and on and on. Wouldn't want to upset the family with some fines or exposures in meetings. We see a lot of the same players making the same mistakes. Discipline folks, not asking for more than some accountability......
