Glass half full - the playoffs REVENGE TOUR!

Post by malibu »

Look it hasn't been good the last 3 weeks, neither was it in November of 2021 when we lost all that month before going onto win the superbowl.

Honestly I think team is is better than 2021. We are getting Adam's, Lake, Dotson and Jackson all back. We are essentially very healthy. We have seen all the mistakes from 5 games and most of those games we should have won. Sure I would like to face the 4th seed more than Philly in Philly but the glass is half full I don't care I think we will beat Philly if we play them first.

My quick guess is we will play Carolina. I think Seattle is desperate for the 1 seed and they are better than SF especially on defense. Even if Carolina does lose Atl can win and still we face Carolina this is our first REVENGE GAME WIN. Then onto Seattle to beat the shit out of them REVENGE #2. Then onto Philly to beat the living shit out of the perfect TRIFECTA!

Then onto to the SB to beat the crap out of whomever we play.

Dude , just stop .We had AD + Von Miller in 2021 . AD ALONE is better than this ENTIRE DEFENSE . I would take HIM against an entire offense instead of the 11 we have now .

Offense will improve with Dotson , AJ + Adams of course but this defense is what it is = SHIT .

IF the offense can get into a rhythm ( that means stafford not playing like an IDIOT - because that is what he has been playing like since the CArolina game ) , THEN , - and only then - we can MAYBE win shootouts in the playoffs because this defense is not holding anyone under 30 points in the playoffs.

And let's just stop pretending that LAKE will be some kind of savior for all the issues this defense has like weak pass rush , problematic run defense and atrocious pass defense. Dude will be rusty as hell from 2 months without playing an actual NFL game. He might improve the secondary a bit with less blown coverages but we still suck .

PAss rush is as bad as the secondary right now , they started the year strong - toe to toe with denver in sacks for 2 months , since then , Denver is still number 1 and we are down to 12 in sacks . They can't get home . Tired of watching Verse Whiff on sacks . That has to be fixed at some point because if 6 sacks per season is his ceiling , it is not good enought. He took a big step backwards from last season and no , he is not doubled teamed all the time .

Seattle Seahawks (13-3)*
Chicago Bears (11-5)*
Philadelphia Eagles (11-5)*
Carolina Panthers (8-8)
San Francisco 49ers (12-4)*
Los Angeles Rams (11-5)*
Green Bay Packers (9-6-1)*
Tampa Bay?
I hope you are right Malibu. But as of today I don't see Rams beating 49ers, Eagles, or Seahawks. Better shot against Bears, Packers, Carolina, and possible Tampa. Only based on last few weeks. Unless Rams players play with urgency and discipline do they have a chance. However for what ever reason against Atlanta I saw neither discipline or urgency.

Like I said our only shot is Stafford getting his head out of his ass , adams and AJ and Dotson coming in fully healthy and strong , then we can win shootouts like 40-35 . IF Stafford goes back to his CLEAN games and adams / AJ / Dotson are 100 % healthy we can score at will over ANY DEFENSE , nobody can stop us ,and that could be a way to win one or even more than one playoff game.

One difference is that in the SB year, during the playoffs, when we NEEDED a play, Kupp and OBJ were just clutch. That pass to Tutu last night was very close to the same play Kupp made against Tampa, though it probably took Kupp a tick or two longer to get there. I don't see that now. D .. ANY D with AD is better than this current hot mess, Von Miller added .. no contest to this group and then the kicker .. Weddle coming out of retirement and running that D. And maybe he wasn't the BEST safety around, but if Nick Scott was certainly physical
GR .. shaken not stirred

I never understood why did they let nick Scott walk. Dude would lay some hits ( clean) that would set the tone and spark the entire defense. We badly need a safety or a lb that does exactly that

I live in Eagles country; and it will be tough taking another loss to them. McVay just can't beat the Eagles and the Dolphins for whatever reason.

I'm not happy about the last 2 weeks...but somehow I feel more at ease now because my expectations are much lower. Not expecting any wins in playoffs, so when we roll, it will be a nice big, fat surprise.

You hit the nail on the head - our expectations were way too high for the team. I kept hearing we are the best all around team and the favoirties to win it all. In reality before the season started I though I'd be happy with a playoff win and looking to next year with more draft captial. Once I reset my expecations after being pissed off for a few days I actually feel better.

If the Rams are worth a shit, it should not matter who we play. Yes, the # 1 seed would have kept us at or near home base; now we need all hands on deck.

Yes, Discipline and Urgency must be the new mantra for our team. Let's make the Arizona game a nice tune-up for Whomever we are going to dominate in the Playoffs. Protect Stafford and kick ass.

Look Brazil isn't wrong with his assessment I am not trying to look at this team through rose colored glasses just being optimistic with the team healthier we have a real shot. Every team has areas they are weak at. Do we lose the ATL game with Alaric in we will never know. We will have full fire power by the playoffs, Higby, Devante, Alaric and hopefully Dotson will be back. That is minimally good for an additional TD + per game. Last week both Wallace and Lake were out not saying that was the answer but with Lake in we will be better for sure to a degree.

If Seattle wins and either Carolina wins or Atl wins we play Carolina. Win #1 in the playoffs. Rest is up in the air. I think Seattle wins gets #1 seed, we would play Seattle if all the favorites win, unless GB or SF beats Chicago and Philly. I see GB winning I don't see SF beating Philly jmo. Then Seattle plays GB and we go to Philly sucks to go to Philly but might as well face them and get revenge anyway. And in the end if we beat Philly we will go back to Seattle for our last REVENGE and hopefully beat the living shit out of them so there is NO ambiguity who the best team in the NFC is. Then onto the Superbowl.

I agree other than SF. I don’t see any NFC team beating them right now because they are peaking and no one has even slowed down McCaffrey. I think they beat Seattle this weekend if they decide to play their starters, which I think they will.

I think you saw a poor defense from Chicago. the last time we beat them 42 - 26. Seattle's defense is way better than Chicago's and based on that alone SF won't have the same success. Why wouldn't they play their starters winning the game means means they get home field advantage throughout the playoffs as well as a bye in the first round no chance they sit their starters so they can play an extra game makes zero sense.

^^^ THIS.
I'm planning on just sitting back and enjoying anything good that happens. I still believe the Rams are the best team in the league...although they may not always play like it.

We beat SF 42 - 26 it was the same team as now minus the QB. SF has zero pass rush worst in the NFL in pressures and sacks we are the best offense in the NFL we can put up a ton of points against st them.

The difference between this year and the last 2, besides stats is the Rams waited until the final 5 games of the season to have 3 shitty ones. The last 2 years we had the 3 shitty games in the first 5.

Yes. The Rams CAN beat anyone . Unfortunately, with this soft defense, anyone CAN also beat the Rams.

They didn't look sharp today. Couldn't cover Michael Wilson, and got helped by 1 underground ball that could have been an AZ td, and one ticky tac call that negated a 40 yard gain.

Rams pulled away, but won't against better teams. Gotta get everybody back, and then find a way to not let Bryce Young look like Steve Young again!

This playoff season honestly i don't care who we play with a fully healthy team a better STs I think we can beat any of the teams. Sure there are easier routes imo going to Carolina or TB to start getting the Bears in 2nd round then lastly a possible home game against SF or Seattle or GB would be ideal. take in mind this is the same Rams team that was up 26-7 against Philly early in the 3rd quarter, defense basically held them to no yards at half, and Rams settled for a bunch of field goals, up 30-16 on the Seahawks with 8 min left in the 4th. Beat 13-4 Jacksonville 35-7 (season low only team to hold the Jags under 10 points) , held 12-5 Houston to 9 points (season low and only team to keep them under 10 points) up 42-20 against 12-5 SF with a few minutes left in the game. Held the Ravens to 3 points (season low and only team to hold them under 10 points) held the Saints to their second lowest point total 10 points, only Bucs held them to a touchdown less all season.

the potential is there.. Rams need to get out to leads and force opposing offenses into bad situations

Someone a week or so ago said we need to take the ball first we seem to do better.

The only issue i fear is our secondary. Ton of issues - the bomb Ahkello got beat on where were the safeties? Very few pass breakups. Again they didn't look good even with a ton of pressure on their QB (6 sacks) 25 pressures that is a DL beat down. But playoff teams will have better OLs than AZ which scares me.
