That's likely to be a serious issue vs. the Falcons, hmmmm...??  :?:

If we can consistently pressure Cousins, he will turn the ball over.
That is the whole key to this game.

I want them to hang 50 on Raheem's team. And the D has some bad play to atone for and now would be a great time for some of that.

How nice it would have been if the Rams didn't screw up vs Eagles, Niners and Seahawks? How nice it would have been to have the 1st seed locked down by now and could rest random starters into the 1st round bye.

We love McVay, but we also know this is on him for not firing Chase Blackburn a long time ago. Special teams cost us three games out of the four we lost.

It’s also on the entire coaching staff for not properly addressing the cornerback position. McSnead should have actively tried to trade for a CB before the deadline.

This defensive roster was not put together properly — it’s full of holes and guys who simply can’t cover, including our two starting ILBs (Speights and Landman).

To be fair, Landman and Ford were good additions, and now we can stop the run. But the reality is that this team can’t cover anyone. That will probably be the reason we don’t win a championship, unless our offense can consistently win shootouts.

RAM SEASON!!

--The Commish
I wouldn't sleep on the Falcons, they can rush the passer and we are down two starters on the OL as of right now, they blew a bunch of close games and could easily be a 500 team right now. The rams certainly have shown that they lack killer instinct, so I'm not taking any opponent lightly . There's not much difference between blowing a 16 point lead well into the fourth quarter and losing to a weaker opponent(Carolina for example). It's about closing out games and having that killer instinct.

There weren't any great difference makers at cb at trade deadline. We couldn't address everything. The thinking was we needed to shore up our run defense and we have adding Landman and Poona we needed a replacement for Kupp everything we did overall was smart. Every team has holes imo we have the least holes in the NFL.

Lastly this team played extremely well. STs lost us 2 maybe 3 games no one saw that coming so hard to plan for that it wasn't the CBs that lost us those games.

Offense has been playing well and defense played well for a while but anymore. Defense is full of holes. You need at least one ILB that can cover and at least a good CB1. We have neither. If your defense can't stop the pass you are in trouble. Mac Jones passed for over 350. Darnold destroyed them in both meetings ( despite the tos) ...even Bryce Young carved them up. Does this look like a SB defense to you?

Also, about trading for a CB, all you need is call teams and offer picks just like we did with Ramsey. Not saying we should give our first rounders but a second rounder for a good cb1 would do it. The guys we have now are not starting caliber.

Will there be a MAX effort by McVay/Rams vs the Falcons, as he stated after last weeks collapse vs Seattle ? I am wondering - is he mentally accepting fate of his teaming wondering from cold outside site to another in the playoffs ? All the injuries to the OL making me wonder how safe MS will be vs a good pass rushing team. If the D is not committed to stoping the run Robinson could go off. I have never been a fan off limping into the playoffs with no effort & a losing mantra . Here is hoping Rams give a max effort to win today - keep their MVP QB safe - tackle and cover like you care and maintain a positive winning attitude going forward.

If AJ can’t go the Rams are gonna struggle. That’d be missing 3 opening day oline starters (Havenstein, AJ, Dotson). Not many teams win road games down that many guys especially on the oline.

I know McClendon has played pretty good but you’d have to think McVay would be ultra conservative with not wanting Stafford to get dinged up behind 3 backup O lineman.

I just hope it doesn't end up in 2 teams in prevent defence in a shoot out... that won't bode well for us.

Agree key is all out pressure.

Jones also threw for another 319 yards in the 2nd meeting @ SF!
Someone better cover London this week and the rush needs to get pressure.
Indoor stadium plays right up our ally.. Notice Indy and Houston both gave us a go @ Sofi, they play in an indoor stadium too.
I think the Rams will be fine. More Injuries is my biggest worry.

yup exactly. We will win both games left BUT we probably lost the 1 seed .....path to the SB is insanely harder now . Not that with the #1 seed would be easy ( NOT with this defense ) but still ...gonna be 300 % harder now .

Dotson and Adams are for sure out. I would sit AJ as well not worth getting him hurt worse.

EDIT: I see that there's a good chance we get a home game 2nd round if we are the 5 seed. So just for that, I would rather play hard and win out with Stafford. Rest only the real injuries.

Rams aren’t resting tonight. Other than hurt players. Next Sunday they’ll know their fate. Either they’ll be locked into 6 seed (lose tonight and SF wins Saturday) or they’ll have to beat AZ to secure a 5 seed.

Az has quit and there is zero reason Rams shouldn’t win that game in one half.

I agree they aren't going to rest guys but DA won't play and Dotson has already been ruled out.

Those are injuries. Not rest. Some fans want them to rest Stafford and linemen and Puka next two weeks. Not happening. If they can’t beat Atl they suck anyway as far as I’m concerned.

this is a huge game tonight for the Rams so they can get a better draft pick next year. I know some people don't give a shit but you know damn well the Rams do. Was just listening to the radio and Cowherd brought up a good point. If they get in the top 10, say around 8 or 9, then they can trade out but if they end up around 12 or 13 they won't be able to do that. I tend to agree with that.

NFL reseeds after the first round so very unlikely they get a home game the 2nd round even if the Rams are the 5.

You’d need both the 6 and 7 to win to be at home as the 5 playing the 6.
