Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
Long time McVay/Rams homer Colin Cowherd has relegated Rams out of his Top 10 for many of the issues discussed on this forum. He has New England/Seattle/ Pittsburgh/Colts all ahead of the Rams. Noted sloppy play in each game, poor IOLine, too Puca centric with this player possibly out, RB ball security issues , poor secondary play and misfiring with D Adams on O. Also noted they have yet to play a single complete game. Hard to argue with any of this just hard to see the #1 media fan of McVay-Rams drawing some hard but legitimate lines. A solid complete game and victory vs Jacksonville could change his ( and the minds of many) on the Rams legitimacy as a real contender .

Re: Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
Which of those teams that he rates above the Rams haven't been sloppy too???
Sounds like a drama queen lookin for relevance or a personal problem to me.
I won't lose any sleep worrying about some do nothings rankings!

Cowherd , while a huge McVay/ Rams fan for years, has been known to stir the pot with provocative comments for discussion. His points are all on the money & I think it is true despite the 4-2 record, our Rams have not hit their stride given the talent the team has . The remaining difficult schedule is going to demand more from our Rams or they may well be sitting it out come playoff time .

Re: Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
All the team have flaws. Rams even have one of the smallest lost margins among the NFC teams.
I seen Power Rankings has Rams top 5, I even seen rankings with the Rams as high as 4, and some as low as top 10. Look at it this way, Rams were in the 20's, at this time, the last two years in the power rankings and they still made the playoffs.
Colin just wants hits. Maybe him and Mcvay had a fallen out, or maybe they removed his Rams connection, who knows.
With that said, after this week, I feel fine where the rams are. Only NFC team that is clearly playing better is Tampa and even they have flaws on special teams.

Cowherd definitely likes to stir the pot...But he is right on with his points IMO. they are beyond sloppy...But I would take them over NE any day of the week. Not high on Pitt either.

We're 3rd in points allowed.
Puka centric? Ummm Williams is 6th in rush yards and Adams is pacing over 1,000 yards. Since when is having a elite receiver a bad thing?
I usually like Colin, but wierd take.

Re: Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
I dont get it either
This is the best football the rams played in the first 6 weeks since the Rams SB year.
The last three years the rams been awful during the first 6 games. 2 of the 3 years Rams still went to the playoffs and last year the rams won a playoff game. The one year tempered rams didnt make the playoffs, nearly all the star players including Stafford, Kupp and AD was on IR.
Mcvay, like the last two years, will get the team to play better heading into the playoffs. This season, the Rams arent in a huge hole, like they were the last two seasons.
With that said, if the Rams play a clean game and get the win this week, they will nearly be in everyone top 5, imo

Re: Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
All his points are valid but you can dissect every teams weakness and everyone has them look at the Giants win against Philly is Philly not good anymore the league is tough to win week in and week out. The saving grace that he doesn't talk about is that the Rams beat themselves not the other way around and almost every other team in the league can't say that. Rams very easily could have been 6-0 and he has to acknowledge it. Rams ace in the hole this season besides great play of Stafford is our depth on both sides of the ball. All we need to do is fix the kicking game and this teams law of averages will average back out in our favor. We will be 12-5 by the end of the season especially if we win the next two - both very winnable games.

I agree about the next 2 games - very winnable and very important for the Rams - all the ingredients are there for a run to the top. Here’s hoping they seize the moment & respond with a huge effort.

Re: Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
I have been highly critical but our two losses were very flukey, we are generally outplaying the teams we lost to and should have beaten them comfortably. We beat the Texans and the Colts and nobody really outplayed us.
This is why we've made a ton of mistakes, if we put together some clean football I think we're in every game we play.

Re: Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
Personal dislike of Cowherd aside, his points related to the Rams to date are legit - it goes without saying each team has had its inconsistent play to date - but as the Rams go it seems to be time to button their show and be what they are going to be in 2025 . Next 2 games with a bye tossed in seems to be that time ? Wild card of course is the injury to Puca and his availability.

I think he's on point. He really likes the Rams but everything he points out is legitimate. We have some work to do.

Here's the thing can you really name 10 teams better than the Rams?

Re: Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
No answer to that question as it is all subjective - if you want to crunch endless date on yards running, passing , league rankings etc . . . the Colts would likely rank at or very near the NFL top. Do I think they and 9 others rank above the Rams after 6 games ? Who can say - I think the Colin point is the Rams have underachieved a bit despite a 4-2 record & it is time for the “ button it up” mode for our Rams to kick in .

Re: Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
There are numerous aspects of our team for a fan to legitimately be concerned about, however Colin Cowherd's ranking of the Rams isn't one of them.Rampager66 wrote: ↑October 14th, 2025, 1:31 pm

I watch Uncle Colin over lunch every day. Big fan. Good show.
But his man crush on Sean Payton is now a 5 alarm fire. Puts the Broncos at NUMBER THREE in the Herd Hierarchy?? Team that just won 13-11 against the woeful Jets.
C'mon now.

I can. Buccaneers, Broncos, Bills, Eagles, Lions, Chiefs, Packers, Steelers, 49ers, Colts (I know we won but they gave that game away and we were the home team)

Fair enough.
Personally, I don't see one of those teams being truly better. This is the most partity in the league I've seen in quite some time.

Re: Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
Cowherd is not an analyst, he's an entertainer. He will contradict himself from one sentence to another to defend his (sometimes silly) takes. He can also blatantly lie if it fits his narrative. He's smart enough to know that maybe the majority of the people who watch his shows are here to shit on his take and call him a clown (which he is, in a way) so he likes to get on people's nerves by defending or criticizing a player or a team

Re: Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
Mentioned earlier - he is often a provocateur for his own gain . No question he is a Rams/McVay fan but that does not make the key points he mentioned inaccurate or incorrect - many who watched and study the Rams in 2025 note his takes to be right on point.

JMO but I couldn’t care less where we are at in October in these rankings. I only care about one winning the division or two finishing top 7 in the conference. Rank us one rank us 20 i don’t care……………..
Me, if I cared, I’d have us top 10 but closer to 10 then 5……………

I wonder if Cowherd will have the rams back in the top 10 this week. 50/50 shot is my guess
