4-2.... I will take it

Post by Slickjack »

At the beginning of the year, I realized a good possibility this is where would be at this stage. Many of us are disappointed that our record is not better but when you factor in that the Colts handed us one, it could be a lot worse. That first half against Bmore was a little scary, but hopefully we can get a nice win against JAX and continue to handle our own business, rather than relying on Tampa and others .

It was an ugly win but we rallied and got the W. I think most people would have been happy with a 4-2 start before the season. The heartbreaking loss to the Niners as well as the east coast travel could have been a factor. It will be very interesting to see how we look against the Jags for sure.

I am glad they are staying out East, that would not be cool to send the boys back to Cali and then all the way back over the pond.

Yep. We typically don't play the Ravens well but I think our record in London is pretty good. The Jags are starting to hit their stride so they will be a handful. I was hoping they would do us a sold and beat Seattle. Unfortunately we will probably be without Nacua.

It’s about counting wins n getting in. Rams have 4, need at least 10, probably 11. So 7-4 in remaining games.

You have to IMO go 4-1 in remaining Division games. If you do then you need 3 more from remaining schedule. Detroit, Tampa, NO, Atlanta, Jax, n Carolina. Very doable if the key players stay relatively healthy. Go 3-2 in division then another win needs to come somewhere………

The problem with one game at a time in here is as soon as this team loses a game some decide it is time to get to the edge of the cliff again n the season is over………

Right? The sky is falling crowd is somewhat surprising. They all fade back into the woodwork when things start going well again. This team is too good not to make a deep playoff run. We will have another Bills type game from 2024 this year and it might be Detroit. We can beat anybody on our schedule.

I agree ... our biggest hurdle is ourselves. If we can just get out of our own way... and properly execute, wrap up and just be smart... I believe we do have the talent to beat anyone. #nohomerhere

I aint a homer and never will be. Play like shit, you'll get criticized. Play good football, you'll get praise. Still, too many mistakes. We need to start having a killer instinct and stop playing it safe. Start going for the kill. Stop being a pussy and taking your foot off the gas if you're winning. We can do it. We have the talent. "Some". I've been the biggest cheerleader this season outside the Niners game. They played like shit and got mollywhopped.

That killer instinct is going for it on 4th and 3 when we were up by 14 but people criticised that play. I'm glad they went for it because Balt could do nothing on offense.

They are what I thought they were. A slightly above average team that will beat a couple of good teams and lose some they should win. Same as last year. Certainly not elite. Less bonehead decisions and better kicking will help.

Henry wracked up 122 yards on the ground; we need to address this. Tackling must improve.

Yes indeed, that's why gang tacking is imperative with big bruisers like Henry. Wish we had one on our team.

Facing a strong Jaguars team in London without their best player, that's looking rather problematical for the Rams. However, Sean McVay currently is 2-0 vs. the Jaguars as head coach of the Good Guys.

I'm in agreement that our team can afford only one more divisional loss, most likely to the Seahawks... :-o  :)

One game. Rams run D has been good up until yesterday. See Philly, Indy, SF as it relates to Barkley, Taylor, n CM…….

Again edge of cliff thought process over a game. Not saying you but again overall they have been good against the run……

Their record isn't a problem. Those special teams, wow. I didnt expect that.

Killer instinct was also going for it on 4th and 1 vs the nibers rather than trying for a fg.

You realize outside of TBs 1 loss record we are at top of the next tier and my guess TB with all their injuries they will lose some future games.

NFC -
TB
Rams, Detroit, Philly, SF, Seattle.
GB, Minnesota, Washington

I really like our chances barring major injuries. We play 5 more in division games, plus our division still needs to play each other so they will beat up on each other. We play TB and Detroit so if we take care of business.

I like the aggressive play call . What I don't like is Shelton getting destroyed YET AGAIN and ruining the play.

This offense needs to improve a lot too. We lead in passing yards and move the ball well, but we can’t score many points — either because of KW’s fumbles, Stafford’s inaccuracy in the red zone, penalties, missed FGs or XPs, etc. There’s always something. Every game we leave 14–20 points on the table that should’ve been scored. Fix this, and fix the damn ST, and we’re good to go. Easier said than done, though.

Saw this on another site:

Backup QB and you let Henry run for 250? Man, terrible. Letting a wounded offense score 43 is also unacceptable.
Where do I start on offense? Stafford went 3 for 27 with 2 ints and Kyren fumbled twice while only scoring 6 points on 2 for 15 FGs.

Oh wait, none of that happened but you'd swear it did by reading this board...sad really. Why would anyone want to post here with all the negativity on this board?

Couple of thoughts:

1. Rams won
2. Rams had the #2 offense coming into the game.
3. Stafford was leading the NFL in passing yards coming into the game, in his 16 previous years he has never finished the season as the yardage leader
4. Rams defense gave up 3 points
5. Rams won...by 2 TDs
6. Young had 2 more sacks and is on a massive tear
7. Verse is still a beast and destroyed that 4th and goal at the end of the 2nd quarter
8. Landman is everywhere
9. STs still suck (hey, even I can't sugar coat everything)
10. Kyren was spectacular today.
11. Davante is fine, how many PI calls called against him this year? That said, Stafford and Adams are just a tick off.

One last thing, this team is 4-2. They are fine, the offense is not completely clicking on all cylinders and are still the 2nd best offense in the league, the defense is built for a playoff back alley street fight. STs needs work, but there is time and if they stay healthy, they are a hard out for anyone.

The Rams don’t have the 2nd best offense in the league. They are 16th in PPG. What the fuck is that guy even watching?

And Henry ran for 122 yards when they literally had nothing else they could go to.

Take that rah rah go team go Kevin Demoff bullshit somewhere else

4-2 is whatever. There’s 9 teams in the NFC with 2 or fewer losses and only 7 playoff spots

AGAIN you are choosing to state just what fits your agenda. Fact is they right now, look for yourself, 4th overall on offense in the league n will probably move up to 3rd if the Buffalo game stays as is per ESPN……

What is more important to offense than points scored?
Rams are 16th. You don’t have a good offense when the coach doesn’t kick FGs and the red zone offense sucks.

Rams are 3rd in the league in yards per play. That’s great. But without the points it’s pointless

I still have the Rams as a top 6/7 ish team and that's at worse case.

3rd in PPG allowed. The defense front 7 is legit!

16th in PPG. Talent wise we should be better than that. We move the ball, but redzone offense has been terrible.

Definitely a year of parity. I feel like 10 teams could win the Superbowl this year.

The poster I quoted clearly stated 2nd overall which was fact prior to yesterday. He did not say 2nd in scoring.

Before the season started, I figured this to be a fairly easy win. But seeing how the two teams have played recently i'm a little worried about this one. Don't forget Jacksonville beat San Francisco a week before they beat us with their practice squad.

Thankfully, we decided to stay in Baltimore instead of flying all the way back to the west coast.
