Arch Manning SUCKED he lost the game by himself!

Post by malibu »

OSU didn't beat Texas Arch Manning lost the game by his horrible and I mean horrible passing.

Guys were wide open he would way under throw and way over throw them. Wouldn't lead anyone. Holds the ball way too long. No field vision. Threw into double coverages you have to see it to believe it how bad he was. OSU never got a sack the Texas OL gave Manning enough time he just couldn't get to him. OSU's coverage on the receivers for the most part was soft most QBs could have made these throws.

Hate his side arm throwing motion. He looked like a scared kid instead of a QB of a potentially #1 program. He was flat out awful.

Sark didn't help with his horrible play calling but no way to hide Mannings awful performance.

He did have a bad game, but like beast stated, Sark didn’t help him much (I’m not a fan of Sark after what I saw him do w USC, and other ball clubs).

Also, let’s give the kid some slack… it is Ohio St in Ohio, and was his first real big game. Give him time.

1989, Troy Aikmans first year in Dallas as the QB… they went 1-15 and looked awful.

Something about stepping into the starting role at big time programs…

That was a shitty game. He couldn’t stick the easy passes that would have been enough to win the game. Even that late game drop was a bad throw behind the receiver. Tough opponent but these tests matter. I’m sure he can pad his numbers vs the dregs on the schedule.

The average NFL salary is around $3.2 million as of 2024, according to some reports, though this is skewed by the high salaries of star players, especially quarterbacks.

Average Quarterback Salary: Around $5.76 million, with much higher figures for the top players.

His mechanics from waist down were fine. He appears to have the arm strength. His issue today was some bad decisions at times with the ball and wasn’t really good in throwing the ball in tight windows.

Work in progress. But it is the Ohio States he needs to be judged against. Defensive players who will play on Sundays. Not next week against San Jose State……………

I watched this game and his delivery very closely.
Do you know who he reminded me of… an over hyped player who “could make all the throws”…
Great arm strength, quick delivery… very erratic accuracy.
He reminded me of former UCLA qb Josh Rosen

I understand but OSU had nothing to do with his poor throwing for the most part. He has been in the system a full year no excuses. Like u say hopefully he improves.

Not nearly the same thing Del.. It's college football not the NFL. Manning wasn't competitive, let alone the top QB prospect

He looked bad. Didn’t surprise me. I will wait until the end of the year to make a judgement. He will continue to grow. This is his first season playing.

Maybe people will want to keep Stafford one more year befire handing the reins over to Archie.

He was awful all game long; we are not drafting him.

Alternatively, Arkansas beat up on mighty Alabama A & M. The Razorback QB Green is worth watching. 6'6" 235 lbs and makes all the throws. And can run.

Go Rams! Go Hogs!

I was not impressed with his mechanics on some of his throws. he was not accurate several times during the game with guys wide open. But it was at OSU for christ sake so let's cut him some slack. His OL did not help on several plays during the game. And like a lot of you said I thought Sark called a terrible game. His goal line calls were awful. This guy is supposed to be an offensive genius but I did not see that today. JMHO

I don't like his sidearm motion and don't really see that translating to the NFL....So, in his first year in the NFL he will spend learning to throw over the top.

I also thought he rushed many of his throws resulting poor attempts. I realize it was Ohio State and an away game for him but as others have stated I thought he had enough time but he was just a bit out if his league. I do think the game will slow down as the year progresses.

I like his scrambling ability and for the most part his footwork. He's going to be good but that armslot has me concerned

agree and almost every time he did that he threw a bad pass. Hopefully his coaches will clean that up. If not he is going to have a long year.

Hence why I would rather use those picks on a proven Burrow type than a project.

Isn't Arch Manning the son of the Manning Boy who never played in the NFL?

Does Peyton have a son?

Again...that was just the start of him being the man for Texas and it was against a top caliber team....I have no doubts he will be a top pick, just might not be this year.

My biggest concern was/is the arm slot....I would/will pay attention to that all year to see if he is actually working on it or not.

It’s one game. Any team drafting Arch is doing it based on his tools and pedigree.

A more mobile Peyton sounds like an awesome player. Let’s see how he does the rest of the year

All the hype over him but IMO he certainly does not look like NFL material. They've been hyping this kid since high school. Now I understand why he couldn't get on the field his first 2 years (he did play 3 games last year 2 of which were against low tier teams). If he was the next coming he would of started his freshman year. He didn't and if his last game is any indication of his abilities he won't be starting for Texas that much longer...
Judge our new coach in his third year. After all our last coach was to game strategy what Yoko Ono was to the Beatles...

I have had my doubts for a while. I do expect him to get better as the season goes on and he gets more experience. Can’t make a judgement on 1 game.

The issue for me was how bad his throws were especially with no pressure in his face that has got to be concerning to this coaching staff.

too early to throw in the towel. his OL was not good either and the play calling IMO was terrible. He did not look good but I am going to cut him some slack
