STEVEN JACKSON..

Post by CierraRam »

This video made me love the man even more without taking another live snap.. Golly was he underrated and usually forgotten.. And huge! MAKES D. Henry look like an average size. And I can't get over how fast Jack was too.. Geezo what Sean could do with a guy like this.

I still think about the game where Jackson ran over a defensive back and broke his arm; that's the kind of impact RB that we need now.

I was about to say when they were on the team together they played well and seemed no ego, Faulk and Jackson.

But then I saw this-" Often referred to as the torchbearer for Faulk's legacy, though their relationship wasn't always "buddy-buddy".

Was there an issue between Faulk and Jackson? Never new.

In short, yes there was. Faulk didn't like SJ's outward competitive nature during his rookie year. Jack wanted the ball and Marshall didn't want to give it up. That dynamic changed in Jacks 2nd year. Jackson explains how all that was in video. But I do recall outside of that video that there was issues with Jackson's drafting in the first place from Marshall. It's really an alpha thing and ego.

Every player knows how it works. You give another player a chance.. You might not get your job back. And ego says, with some exception that I can still do it better.. When the reality is the other guy is better. Brady never had a serious threat to him outside of BB. Jimmy G was very good obviously, but no where near Brady. Montana was slowly declining to the point that Youngs running ability proved to be a dynamic Montana couldn't beat.

I would say that Marc Bulger was the most underrated Rams QB, or maybe under appreciated, you decide. Kinda reminds me of Jimmy G in SFO

I have no problem with the Rams going back to LA, None, Made total business sense.
I have a HUGE problem with the way it was done, Tanking, lying and Mis management for all those years and on purpose.
Stl is a shit hole. Awful city management, racist, crime and in the Bible Belt with all the Nonsense and Stupidity that goes with that.
The Fans supporting the team was Never a problem. Cleaning up and making the down town area clean safe and progressive has been.

This is why big business and politics are usually so closely tied together.. that sort of behavior.. I don't care about the everyday person one.

I also remembering that Tory Holt took Jackson under his wing because Faulk was cold to him and didn’t help him learn the play book or over all pro game.

Bobby I was taken back by your statement the team "tanked." Do you mean they purposely lost? It peaked my interest and I looked at 2009, 2008, and 2007 seasons. The Rams basically won 4 games. In 2009 the Rams won one game. I think I have blocked this from my mind or PTSD. :(

Kroenke and Demoff are RATS, they constantly Lied to fans and media to benefit their agenda.
They always pushed they had no plains to move the team when the plan was in place from day 1.
They hired Fischer to run the Sh show knowing it was all about the move.
He got payed off to do so.
Again, I don't blame them for wanting to move out of a Sh hole of a city. It was how they did it.
Yes they tanked on purpose! They were hoping attendance would drop and they could crawl away at night, but that didn't happen, the town supported the team. They hurt a lot of people, businesses and the NFL should also be blamed. They were fully aware of Kroenke's plan but they wanted a team with big money in LA. St Louis is a just a speck of fly sh on the wall.

Well stated RP, both sides are angry how we left Anaheim, then also St Louis. We all see that. It has been hashed and rehashed in here a thousand times.

But, let's put on our thinking caps for a moment shall we?

Let's start by comparing the owners...

Ms Frontiere, a possible husband killer, no real cash to spend on team and had no clue what she was actually doing. We need to all admit that the Warner led Rams was a total fluke... in the sense that She had no clue Dick would coach as well as he was going to, that our backup QB that was stocking shelves would be the NFL and SB MVP, etc etc). We hit the lottery w that team.

Mr Kronk, an extremely successful business man, that could have bought Georgia 25 times over. If Stan sees a product on the field that could win it all, he pours more money and good people into it (just like all his professions team, all are winners), while on the other hand, Georgia wanted the limelight and could manage parts well. But there was no substance. Stan is a proven winner.

Of course Kronk wanted to move the Rams back to their rightful home BEFORE he bought the Rams. He knew Rams belonged in So Cal. Rams should have never went to St Louis, but there was not much of a choice, since Anaheim had enough of Georgia and St Louis was giving her the world to move to the MO.

So, Stan saw a product that had been absolutely DEAD since about 2004ish. The Rams dark ages of 2004-2015 were downright dreadful, it was a decade of SUCK. Georgia went through GM's and Coaches like she did her Manhattan's and Martini's. The woman had no means, and no brains to get us out of SUCKVILLE. I used to fly back to St Louis for years to watch Rams games, and it got really hard after 2003. $3500 to spend a wkend showing up to a half full dome and a garbage product on the field.

The way I see it, Stan completely saved the Rams from imploding. He saved a team that was in such a dark abyss of suck and darkness, that it took him years to get it done. We should be so blessed and lucky to have Stan, it just blows my mind when ANY Rams fan, no matter where you are from say bad things about Stan. Shame on those peeps. Seriously.

Let's compare 2005-2014 to 2015-2025. HA! there is no comparison, its the tale of two teams. One was lost, created an eroded fan base, and had no finances to get us out of the hole Georgia put us in, while Stan had a plan, put up all his own money, and wagered more than half his fortune (at the time) that Rams could win again and be back where they belonged.

While I feel bad for all you St Louis Fans, it was a move that had to be done. No other choice. Stan is a business man, why invest in a state like MO when you could invest in Los Angeles where you triple our investment almost immediately.

Simply put, Stan saved our organization. I mean, we were worse than the BROWNS in those 10 years, we literally were the new Browns of the NFL.

Now, we're winning, winning and winning while also playing the state of the art stadium and soon to be practice facility and home offices.

Now, as for Dumoff, he is a rat.

I vividly remember that last year in 2012 when he was gunning for his 8th year in a row of 1000 yards. We sucked for so long that the playoffs were for everybody else. I was watching his last few games at some random sports bar literally cheering for him to break 1000 yards. That's all I cared about because our franchise was shit. I wanted it for him. Eight seasons in a row is quite the accomplishment. I wonder how many have done that. Can't be too many.

I salute you sir - well said!

Every player knows how it works. You give another player a chance.. You might not get your job back. And ego says, with some exception that I can still do it better.. When the reality is the other guy is better. Brady never had a serious threat to him outside of BB. Jimmy G was very good obviously, but no where near Brady. Montana was slowly declining to the point that Youngs running ability proved to be a dynamic Montana couldn't beat.
no you do not give anyone a chance. you ever played at a high level? Pros never want to give up reps ever. could not disagree with you more
I didn't say that at all.. Just the opposite. I just said the veterans skills are likely in decline and don't want to concede that.. Hence why the other guy was drafted in the first place. Marshall had that problem in Jacks first season. And finally willingly gave way in Jacks 2nd year as an example. Steve Young was a better fit in SFO as Montana was starting his decline.. etc.

copy that. doesn't matter where they are at in their career, Montana example is spot on, they just do not want to give up playing time/snaps

The Rams went 3-13 in 2007 under Scott Linehan, 2-14 in '08 under Linehan (0-4 before being fired) and Jim Haslett (interim), and 1-15 in '09 under Steve Spagnuolo, however I never had the impression that our team was 'tanking,' only that it was poorly coached and lacking in overall talent. (From 2000-09, the Good Guys selected twelve first-round draftees, yet only four of them--safety Adam Archuleta, DT Ryan Pickett, RB Steven Jackson and DE Chris Long--ended up making significant contributions to the Rams.)

Our team drafted somewhat better under Jeff Fisher, however only in '15 (Todd Gurley & Robert Havenstein) and '16 (Jared Goff & Tyler Higbee) was it able to pick up any decent offensive performers under his coaching leadership... :? :)

RAM SEASON!!

Pretty much poetic justice for me, in that it’s what I was feeling when the bitch moved them East…what goes around…
I totally get it, She ran the team in the ground in LA and then moved.

No Argument there. They never should have moved and St Louis Should have gotten a expansion team at that time.

This ^

Seriously.
