Morris has HC experience. No more stupid of a suggestion then fire McVay is………

Yes. No way no how to fire the coach…
But at times he seems too predictable, especially with the run… it’s like, ok, here comes the token run, shut that down, pressure the QB, beat the Rams…
I know that would beat most teams, it’s just too predictable, then when we try the quick out, they are right on it, our screens are not that great either…

Hot diarrhea
Nothing better than a Rams win, but a Niner loss comes pretty close.

Re: I am starting it.
Sure McVay and the Rams are going through a tough patch. Is it on him? Sure, much of it is. I just harken back to the post-Vermeil era. Martz ran the GSOT into the ground; and then the failed head coaching hirings from then on until McVay. Sure he needs to stop being pig-headed and learn to adapt; but he is still the youngest coach in the NFL. He is still learning; and he has NEVER had a losing season. The Rams were never going to go undefeated. I had this Green Bay game and the Baltimore game as definite losses. Rams are still the top Wild Card. Rams should beat Jags and Hags. Games against Vikings and Whiners will be key. It's how you finish heading into the playoffs. Rams still have an opportunity to finish strong. I still have faith in McVay.NorCal RF wrote: ↑November 28th, 2021, 11:04 pmThe thinking of some in here……….Jack85Youngblood wrote: ↑November 28th, 2021, 5:49 pm Jeff Fisher is still available. Re: I am starting it.
McVay has his flaws, but I don't want him fired.
I think he has to do some self-assessing and start to see this team as it really is, and work from there to get them well coached and prepared.
All his confidence and feeling his team the best thing going isn't gonna cut it.
...and I think whoever started the thread complaining about his play-calling yesterday is dead wrong.
Sure there were other games where I sort of questioned some calls. But yesterday? No. I thought the play-calling was fine. The execution was terrible, but the play-calling was fine.

Play calling was fine ? whaaaaaaat ? The last 2 minutes drill was an embarassment and terrible clock management . 3rd and short in crucial time you throw a deep bomb to odell ?Ants wrote: ↑November 29th, 2021, 8:15 am McVay has his flaws, but I don't want him fired.

Re: I am starting it.
play calling was atrocious....1st series....runs 2 plays gets a 1st down. then what does he do he throws 3 straight times...result..puntAnts wrote: ↑November 29th, 2021, 8:15 am McVay has his flaws, but I don't want him fired.

then on his own 29 yrd line he goes for it on 4th down.....awful call
then granted the game was over but on the 3rd down late in the 4th he chooses to run the ball and loses 45 seconds off the clock
furthermore his calls on 3 and short were awful. he threw incompletes on 20 yrd passes twice on 3rd and 3...
sorry dude but this guy has to hire an OC and just be the HC IMO

Re: I am starting it.
In all fairness to McVay, he has assembled some fine coaching staffs since he's been here. Attrition has depleted them and his resources are running thin. What was it, 9 coordinator and position coaches had to be brought in. Thats overwhelming. Turns out DeCamillis and Morris were crappy replacements (not that Winnebago was a great ST coach either).
Reduced cap and no quality high round picks in the wings didn't help.
And we're still 7-4.
Stop with the bone headed mistakes and bad click management though.
Go get Fangio and this D looks a lot different.

You forgot the Goff resigning which really irks me if he didn't fully believe in him.brasilrams wrote: ↑November 28th, 2021, 5:44 pmI am done with him too . On top of all that you said : Hired Morris who is clearly clueless and incompetent , hired our current St's coach ( we are last in the league in Special teams ) , Re-signed hekker instead of that kid that played 10 x better than hekker today , let Young go for nothing , etc etc . Just too many mistakes by him and Snead , they both need to go .Cat-A-Ram wrote: ↑November 28th, 2021, 4:47 pm Fire McVay.
I have lost confidence in his ability to coach this team. His playing calling is stupid and everyone knows what he will do.
He has been exposed and he can’t adjust. His childish antics over Goff last year has cost the team for years to come. Stafford is no better than Goff.
He has refused to address team needs like the online and the linebackers and has giving away all of our top draft picks for the next decade.
With the tough schedule coming up, we may not win another game this year.

Re: I am starting it.
For me I am not for firing McVay although I see some of the points.
What made me mad was we had 2 weeks off and no adjustments. You all can say we the Monday morning QBs don't know football like the professionals and should shut up but I don't care Morris and DeCamiila are huge negatives for this team yet over the bye no adjustments that to me is on McVay.
I think Snead has done a good job minus the Goff resigning and maybe letting Young go. Cooks/Gurley were unforseen Goff wasn't. Part of the dead money would have been there but Goff was by far the largest chunk. Flat out stupid on McVay/Snead to resign Goff that early. They saw every practice, every game and sat with him through every meeting if there were 2 people who should have known Goff it was those 2. The net effect was we lost JJ3 and Hill at a minimum. If we didn't give Goff the new contract we could have afforded some better players to shore up the D.
To me the jury is still out on Stafford. He always seemed to escape the criticism and FO and HCs got the blame. Again as a Monday morning QB, I must say McVay/Snead should have talked to enough people regarding Stafford and reviewed enough tape to know he was an upgrade.
The problem with this season a poster demostrated it best when he put up the records of who we beat and who we lost to it is clear outside of TB we didn't beat much in terms of competition.
In terms of McVay what does this mean? So we beat a bunch of mediocre to downright bad teams and have lost to most of the upper echelon teams if you count SF in that category. I originally posted before the start of the year we would be 11-5. I sorted of wanted to revise that to 13-3 during our strong run but held off. The Defense and ST have stuck in my craw all year as being a liability so I didn't revise upwards. Now I am tempted to say 10-7 or 9-8. I am holding off on that and hoping this game was a real wakeup call - like the 2 previous should have been.
Lastly I am seriously concerned if we make the playoffs we can't run the table - we will be on the road and unless our injury situation improves Cam, SJD and Hollis return or at a minimum we don't lose any more we don't have the mental makeup to get through the gauntlet with the current active roster.
McVay needs to make changes and stop sticking his head in the sand.

the signing of Gurely 1 year before he had to was a huge mistake especially to a guy who had chronic knee problems.malibu wrote: ↑November 29th, 2021, 2:46 pm For me I am not for firing McVay although I see some of the points.

Goff signing goes without saying....that horse has been beaten to a pulp
Letting go of JJ was a huge mistake IMO
Finally I just do not think McVay is a good OC. he is very predictable and panics way too much.

Re: I am starting it.
9-8 was my season prediction because Stafford is who he is, 12 years is plenty to know who a QB is. Plus the defense was going to regress with Staley leaving. A lot of us knew the Morris hire was going to be a disaster.

Re: I am starting it.
I am not even entertaining firing McVay. Some of you need to put down the pipe and stop being so emotional.
Past 3 games sucked. His play calling was subpar and his handpicked QB looks like a deer in the headlights.
But let's not burn the house down just yet.
Bucs were 7-5 after 12 games last year. With the greatest QB that ever lived. And Arians was not fired.
