Bottom post of the previous page:
The Rams lack depth at OT, and McClendon will be off of his rookie contract soon. Jackson also has health issues.

Re: ESPN Draft Predictions...
Cdaly,
I have absolutely no idea about the availability of FA CBs; I expect there will be a bunch looking for a new deal and a decent team, however.
If Adams were younger and healthier, I would not invest in an early first round WR pick. His injury has reminded me of how dependent Puka et al. are in having another WR threat on the field.
I still want a big LT out of this draft though.

So depth ok. I agree like oc n I have talked about. When you said “stud” I took it to replace Jackson or McClendon next year………

Re: ESPN Draft Predictions...
I do feel the Rams should get a experienced vet tackle and/or draft a tackle in 3rd or later rounds. I just don't think the Rams should use a 1st or 2nd on a tackle when they have two young good tackles. Depending on how he finishes, won't be surprised if McClendon is extended this off-season.

Re: ESPN Draft Predictions...
It's been reported that Ferg is the Rams best blocking TE. One of the reasons Mcvay got him on the field and played him a lot despite him not having all the playbook down. I didn't expect that from the rookie.NorCal RF wrote: ↑January 6th, 2026, 2:46 pm Again everyone knows about how I feel about PFF…………

Ferg can block and make plays down the field.
Shelton has his faults but he is solid (bc he is a good run blocker, his pass blocking, not so good), especially when Dotson n and Avila are healthy.

It wouldn't surprise me if we drafted TE Sadiq at 13. He looks like a stud. Jermond McCoy CB is an option, though he's been injured.

Even if the Rams win the SB, if McSnead draft a TE in the 1st, there will be at least five "Fire Mcvay" threads on this board within 2 minutes

Re: ESPN Draft Predictions...
Where is Adams going to go Jets? Kupp has made a good second career with Seahawks. But how many aging vets jump ship and disappear? Also will the Rams want to keep Adams next year?Rampager66 wrote: ↑January 6th, 2026, 8:38 am ESPN has an article on the upcoming draft that does 1 pick for each team for round 1. Here's the link to the article
https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2026/stor ... ordan-reid
This is what they have the Rams doing with the Falcon's 13th Pick,,,
13. Los Angeles Rams (from 8-9 ATL)
Makai Lemon, WR, USC*
Davante Adams will turn 34 in December and is set to be a free agent following the 2026 season, so the Rams need to draft a receiver who's ready to play immediately to maximize the championship window of quarterback Matthew Stafford, who turns 38 in February. Lemon could jump right in to join Adams and Puka Nacua. He has a high-level understanding of how to win against all types of coverage and makes contested catches. He had only one drop on 110 targets (79 catches), and his 21 forced missed tackles ranked 13th among FBS receivers. Lemon is labeled as a slot receiver but can play throughout the formation.
=======================
This is what they have the Rams doing with their own 30th Pick...
30. Los Angeles Rams (12-5)
Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson*
Terrell is the younger brother of Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell Jr. and has a feistiness and competitiveness that belies his 5-foot-11, 180-pound size. He is ultra-competitive and has forced eight fumbles in his career, the most of any Clemson defensive back ever. The Rams haven't used a Day 1 or 2 pick on a cornerback since Sean McVay became coach in 2017, so Terrell would add top-level talent to a thin Rams cornerback room that might see veterans Ahkello Witherspoon and Roger McCreary become unrestricted free agents.

I don't mind it... thoughts?

Rams do need the one.Claremontram wrote: ↑January 7th, 2026, 10:02 am I expect McVay to grab a WR in the first round. It's in his DNA.
Adams is up in age and is going into the last year of his deal. Adams even has a out after this year. Imo he stays but he might get more money elsewhere. Not sure. Rams depth at wr is weak.

The assumption isn't that Adams is going anywhere, but the WR DP, if they go that route in Rd 1, would be WR3 behind 2 Devante and 1 Puka

I would prefer to see a CB with the first pick and maybe a WR with the second if that's what they are going to do. I realize we need another WR to replace Adams - NEXT YEAR. But a bigger need is CB to replace any of ours -THIS YEAR.

Again I agree drafting depth is a good thing. But I don’t want our current starting OT replaced going into next year. I also don’t want to see low caliber players on roster like Humphries. Why the need to draft OL depth…………..

I hear ya but I don't want them drafting an OT in the 6th round either. Or go sign a FA in the offseason that can play both OG and OT

Re: ESPN Draft Predictions...
Rams will resign McClendon to a extension
Rams do need a good vet backup swing tackle. Hopefully Rams prioritize one. They should also draft a swing tackle. Blake Miller? Trevor Goosby? 3rd round or later

Re: ESPN Draft Predictions...
These threads trip me out.. I mean, its great to discuss options... but we have NO idea what Rams will be returning next season NOR do we know who will be on the board and when...
Shoot, Stafford, D. Adams, And some others all could be gone. And that would change our entire draft...

Re: ESPN Draft Predictions...
I don’t know Jackson n McClendon turned out ok. I’m more concerned about late round CB’s than late round OL. One reason is we have a damn good OL coach. Plus that red shirt year is real I think. I’m not sure any OL draft pick is playing a lot his first year under McVay. Avila did but……..
JMO teams don’t let go early in their careers good OL to FA. Yes I know Dotson………

Does McSnead even know what a good cornerback looks like? I don’t think we’ve seen one in years? Even JR was getting burned when he was here.

IMO more times than not they don't work out. It's a crapshoot no doubt either way. I didn't expect those blocking numbers. Based on that, I would almost argue that OT in the first round is out - Maybe 3rd onwards for depth.
Yeah they will go CB and Offensive firepower with their first 2 picks.. Why not Sadiq especially as Higbee may be gone.

I think there is a strong possibility they trade out of 13. That trade with Atlanta last year was to put them in position to draft the next QB in the opinion of many. I don’t think that has changed. Anyone offering a 2027 first round pick to move to 13 well it could be a yep let’s do it from the Rams……………
I don’t see what some of you see as a priority at ILB. There are other needs IMO. Landman, Speights, n a red shirted Dolac I think is a good unit. Sure if a Reese or Styles dropped you take them but I don’t think they will be there at 13 and they certainly won’t be with the Rams other first round pick…………

The Rams only play 1 ILB on most plays and that's Landman. Once they signed him to a long-term deal, ILB imo is no longer a need.
Depending on what you need, many judge Speights as a solid ILB. Even if you want a upgrade to Speights, his ILB position only plays 60 percent of the time, bc his spot is replaced when Rams go nickel, or move Q to the box.
