The good from this horrible loss
No doubt this was a straight up choke job by the Rams. Since 1984 they were 107-1 when leading by at least 19 points in the second half.
I did see some silver lining from this game though:
-Barkley ran for over 400 yards in 2 games vs Rams last year. Signing Ford and Landman worked. He was a non-factor with 2.6/carry
-Even with both starting guards out, the Rams ran the ball well. Over 150 yards and over 5/carry average.
-With no Witherspoon(our only tall corner) I knew Brown would have a big game. Hopefully Witherspoon will be back come playoff time
-The run D also limited Hurts. He had 2 long TD runs against us last year. 40 yards and no long TDs was a big improvement
-Rams had the potential to hang a 50-burger on the Eagles. Red zone play calling(AGAIN!) and costly penalties derailed that
Now the head scratchers:
-Stafford picked a bad game to be woefully inaccurate
-McVay playcalling on third and short. Williams excels in short yardage, and Rams were running the ball well
-Eagles going to Brown because of our small CBs in second half. Why no safety help? especially on 2 third and longs. Make Smith beat you.
-Why no correction after the first blocked FG? No excuse for that second one.

Re: The good from this horrible loss
I'm not sure I can handle a season if it will be like this. The GSOT would have won this game by at least 2 touchdowns. SB rams would have won by at least 2 touchdowns. If we are gonna be a contender- you don't blow games like this. I can't watch. I hope they fix things and get more guys involved in pass game (tight ends???!!!). And don't be stupid and run what works. We were running all over them. Run, Run, then dink and dunk. Move the chains. Game over. Stop trying to score highlight reels. Winning makes the highlight reel.

Re: The good from this horrible loss
Like i said this was an anomly total outlier like you said when up bu a large margin we always win same for the league.
One question i have that Brown is by far there best wr so why not double him on onvious passing downs and force Hurts to have Goesart or Smith beat us just not Brown.

Great points. It's very frustrating to watch a game like this one slip away. I hope it's a learning lesson and I also hope it doesn't become the deciding factor for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. I'd hate to play Philly there again in January.Jack85Youngblood wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2025, 5:00 am No doubt this was a straight up choke job by the Rams. Re: The good from this horrible loss
It's still a long season. Rams have a first place schedule and an arguably tougher division than Philly, so chances are we would play them there anyway. Last year we weren't as talented as Philly. This year, I believe we are as good as them, maybe better. If Rams stay relatively healthy, I think they beat Philly in the playoffs no matter where the game is played.NN1Badboy wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2025, 12:19 pmGreat points. Re: The good from this horrible loss
I was so upset about this loss that i decided to watch the game again...
I don't know who mentioned it, but there was definitely something smelly with the refs. Some of the calls were horrible against us at critical times. I'm by no means a conspiracy theorist but I'm actually not sure we were ever meant to win this game.
The 2 that come to mind immediately were the holding on the run into the end zone. No way that gets called on the eagles especially as they clearly jumped (as they always do) on the tush push.
Then there is the Puka taunting. That was outrageous, just watching highlights of other games and there were many many more cases were it was obvious it was taunting and not called.
Maybe the players felt it as well which is why they dropped the intensity.
Just another angle.

Re: The good from this horrible loss
Is it just me that is starting to question our boy genius coach's play calling? I think he was much better 5 years ago. I sit in my seat and can almost predict the play that is coming up, If I am doing that what are the other teams doing? I know plenty of us are asking where the hell Ferguson is at? I was hoping for big things from him and hopefully acquiring another pass catching TE to open up this offense, we have 2 of the best WR's in Puka and Adams, Kyren backed by Corum is looking like a great RB room, but as usual we are lacking at TE. Higbee has to go, thanks for you service to this point, but we need much more production from the position.Jack85Youngblood wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2025, 5:00 am No doubt this was a straight up choke job by the Rams. If Stafford is uneasy with his protection, which IMO he was early, he gets inaccurate, doesn’t see the field, n gets the ball out too quick because he knows he can’t move.

Calling it now. We will knock the Eags out of the playoffs this year. Write that down.
