Gut Feeling On Jalen Ramsey
After reading McVay’s comments on Ramsey over the last several days, I feel he will be brought back here after June 1.
The Dolphins will save about 6mil if they trade him after June 1st.

Re: Gut Feeling On Jalen Ramsey
The cost is what should matter the most here imo. Maybe they agreed to cut a deal to do it after June 1st, to save the Dolphins the 6M and they will go easier on what else they want back, rather than the Rams passing on it and looking elsewhere...

I don't understand how our coaches can stay in touch with Ramsey, isn't that a bit of a conflict of interest?

Guys, thats the only way it would work, Fins will have to be paying a big chunk of it. There is just no way we pay this, or WE BETTER NOT pay anything close to this amounts...NorCal RF wrote: ↑April 28th, 2025, 4:31 pmThey would have to from where I sit………GlendoraRam wrote: ↑April 28th, 2025, 4:29 pm

Re: Gut Feeling On Jalen Ramsey
Hard to believe Rams are going down the rabbit hole for this player - $$$ draft picks salary cap ramifications. . . For this guy ? Clearly based on how they handled the CB spot in the draft the Rams are going to do this so it’s about accepting this guy back with his diminished skills and team wrecking personality. IMO this move will rate up there as one of the all time FO nightmares.

Re: Gut Feeling On Jalen Ramsey
I don't like it.
Already traded away next years 4th. It's possible they could trade away two 1s and even a 2nd on top of that for a QB. To even part with a 6th would be devastating going forward. Plus, taking on a guy wanting 25 mil +.
I would pass.

Dude was a model citizen here other than maybe two incidents. Him being re-signed won't be shit compared to the brain trust that signed Drew Bennett and Jason Smith.RonMac wrote: ↑April 28th, 2025, 5:38 pm Hard to believe Rams are going down the rabbit hole for this player - $$$ draft picks salary cap ramifications. . . Like it or not - reasonable move or not - it is quite likely to go down with the only questions being how much cash, draft pick compensation etc . . . IMO the Rams going this route will be a mistake on several levels. As a fan we can sit back and watch it unfold hoping for the best.

Re: Gut Feeling On Jalen Ramsey
I think we may see them do this deal and a couple others and even peddle a little bit more of the future to go all in with Stafford 1 more time.
I don't believe they extended him at that $$ just to contend. He's their current best and only QB shot at getting back to the big game.
Their 2 recent SB teams brought in solid vets like Ravens Safety Eric Weddle, Bronco Von Miller, Browns Clay Mathews, OBJ, even Ramsey.
So far it just been just Kupp out, Adams in. I think we're going to see them do lots.
The D can sure use some help and most of those guys they brought in those other years were D.
Wouldn't be surprised if they used the No.1 from the Falcons as well as their own No.1 on this..
RonMac's right, all we can do is sit back and watch.....

I hope this is just noise. I don't want to spend $1 on this dude and most importantly not trade our draft picks for a dude who is going to play probably 1 more yr and not bring it every play. F that

No a fan of this but if this goes down then McSnead have had a great offseason:
ILB - Check
TE - Check
CB - Check
DL depth - check
Only gap remaining is OT depth.

Didn't we let JR go with almost nothing in return? Like a 5th or 6th? No way he comes back and we give up anything more than a 6th. Super friendly deal and I'm all for it. But not paying up. Gotta be some others out there.

Re: Gut Feeling On Jalen Ramsey
It was a third-round choice from the Dolphins, which was close to three years ago, so Jalen Ramsey shouldn't be worth more than a sixth-round draft pick today.
Unfortunately, Les Snead isn't all that effective at NFL player trading, he tends to end up being taken advantage of by better bargainers.
Ramsey would be quite likely to ruin our team's competitive chemistry with his ultra-greedy, 'Me Not We' attitude, not to mention crippling its salary-cap structure with his contract demands, wouldn't he...?? :?

for how good he is during the draft he is below average when it comes to FA and trades. Goff trade was fair especially considering it prevented the niners from getting Stafford.
Rams made a great trade for Dotson.
In hindsight, Rams getting Byron Young for Ramsey wasn't all that bad. I bet Miami wish they never made the Ramsey trade and kept their 3rd round pick along with 20 plus million in cap room over the years.
Rams getting next to nothing for Van Jefferson was fair, bc Van wasn't worth nothing. Van hasn't done squat since the trade.
Many complained about Woods trade but in hindsight, Woods was done. The trade was fair.
In all honesty I think we sometimes over value our players and get upset when we don't get what we think is fair value.

The Rams overpaid for Von Miller, who was merely a 'half-season rental,' however since they won the Super Bowl that year, fans generally resisted questioning any decisions made. (Which is parallel to claiming that since the USA ended up winning World War II, it being caught off-guard and unprepared for the initial Japanese attack was no problem.)Cornell29 wrote: ↑April 29th, 2025, 2:03 pmTrade for Von Miller wasn't bad.Commish wrote: ↑April 29th, 2025, 1:33 pm

That our team did well in expending the third-round draft pick it received from the Dolphins for Jalen Ramsey, that hardly means that it shouldn't have gotten more for the guy in the trade.
The Good Guys got next to nothing from the Titans for Ernest Jones IV last year; once the Titans traded the guy to the Seahawks before midseason, when his remaining value was less, they received a fourth-round draft selection and a player. The Rams should have been able to get a third-round choice for Jones before the season started, however the McVay/Snead regime apparently was desperate to force that trade immediately, rather than take competing bids from other teams.
Today's version of 'Me Not We' Ramsey with his massive contract demands, it would be a mistake to trade for him at all... :? ;) :x

I think my issue is what we give up when we let the guys out early and move on form us, we seem to be VERY generous with those.
I really dont have an issue what we sign guys for, thats just the sport and the NFL. I mean, we had no idea Kupp wouldn't produce like in seasons past, this last season... yet, he was paid the most in 2024. But, I am going down a rabbit hole here that is somewhat off your point.
back to your point, I do agree, and thanks for the fair assessment w the receipts. We never know how a guy will play... one glaring example is what we gave OBJ to join us... I thought for sure the guy was washed up, had lingering injuries, and a bad attitude... but boy was I wrong, I honestly believe Rams may not have won the SB if he was not a part of our squad.

Oooh the entertainment this board will provide if we sign Ramsey will be spectacular and I'm here for it. Not saying we are, don't want the usual crybabies coming at me with their tiki torches like the proud boys of Charlottesville. I just want to see the entertainment.
