The Rams definitely have the ammunition to get one of the 26' top QB's if needed. Let's hope the Falcons pick winds up being something really grand because they stink!

Re: 2025 Draft. Les Snead's Greatest Work
From the Falcons perspective, it really doesn't matter if 2026 is a much better QB class, since they have their QB already. Their division is not great and they have a realistic chance of making the playoffs if they can improve defensively, so if Pearce works out it will be worth it to them. For the Rams, having the two #1's is great, but doesn't guarantee they will be able to snag the QB of the future. If Manning is what everyone expects him to be, whoever has the first pick isn't moving off it no matter what is offered.BrooklynRam74 wrote: ↑April 27th, 2025, 4:31 pm In a Draft filled with 4 or 5 Quarterbacks worthy of 1st Round selection. If the Rams are able to follow the brilliant Matthew Stafford era, ( 1 Super Bowl Win so far and still going) and follow that up WITH young Franchise Quarterback of the future, is simply a master stroke.
It reminds me of when brilliant New Jersey Devils GM Lou Lamoriello extracted a 1st Round pick from the hapless and idiotic Toronto Maple Leafs in the Eric Lindros Draft.
You DONT trade your 1st Round pick in a Draft with a Generational player (see Seahawks fan rant)
It takes two to tango, a clueless participant (Falcons, Maple Leafs) and a cunning predator (Rams, Devils)
Whether we end up with the grand prize (Arch) is somewhat beside the point. We SHOULD end up with our NEXT Franchise Quarterback regardless.

Re: 2025 Draft. Les Snead's Greatest Work
On another note about this draft - I notice people ranting about the Rams not drafting a CB this year.
Well, my thought on that is that we drafted a pretty good pass rusher in Stewart. A more intense pass rush means the secondary gets help right there.

It certainly increases their odds dont you think.
It is projected to be a very good QB class next year. 4 or 5 better than any in this just completed draft.

Greatest work? The last 2 drafts prior to this one may challenge that but like they say time will tell. But getting Atlanta’s #1 for a late pick in the first round is gold.

Re: 2025 Draft. Les Snead's Greatest Work
Say Carolina or Jets have the first pick, they ain’t (nor will anyone else who has first pic) moving off of it… if they have their minds set on Manning or Allar or even a Leavitt…
But that being said, 2025 is supposed to be a fantastic QB class… right now, I’m seeing 4 MAYBE 5 franchise QB’s… and I mean, these 4 to 5 will be leading an NFL team for a decade or longer (if they stay healthy of course)
So even if we don’t get first pick, I’m confident enough that another team (who doesn’t need a QB will take our 2 first round picks for us to move up and snag the 2nd QB Ava…
This QB class is absolutely stacked. Take a look… imo, this is the best QB class in many years.

Plus, Rams I believe want a solid Vet to lead at CB is why we didn’t draft one.

Re: 2025 Draft. Les Snead's Greatest Work
hilarious they have the once Tenn QB and now UCLA QB on this list. no way in hell is he rated that high. He was 57th in passing last year. Let's not forget they had to dummy down the play book in Tenn for him. He also flunked out of HS at Long Beach Poly. Hard pass IMODelMar wrote: ↑April 27th, 2025, 6:24 pm Say Carolina or Jets have the first pick, they ain’t (nor will anyone else who has first pic) moving off of it… if they have their minds set on Manning or Allar or even a Leavitt…

That's the point, which is why plenty of fans, myself included, wanted the Rams to target the 2026 QB draft class rather than simply 'settling' this year... :?

Re: 2025 Draft. Les Snead's Greatest Work
Does nobody think we should have grabbed Sanders in what, round 3? Is there something wrong with having him in competing for a spot potentially next year? I'm not sure myself, but sure seemed like great value despite all the off field noise.

I actually thought about it when they got into the 5th round. I honestly did not want him at all but I would not have been upset. value was there

Re: 2025 Draft. Les Snead's Greatest Work
Last years QB class was unusually impressive obviously. This year's was unusually weak I think it's safe to say at this point.
So sure, next year looks potentially far better at the QB position than this year certainly. But I must be the only one, because I look at next year's QB class and am far from impressed. Really far...

Ok, ATL doesn't need a QB (maybe = Penix?). But the Rams do (soon).
So how will the Rams obtain a high draft selection as a perinatal playoff team? Sure, the trade is a gamble. A really really good gamble.
The Rams are gambling that next year's ATL pick will be better than their own pick was this year at #26. Seems reasonable. Seems reasonable to think the Rams will be as good this coming year as last year (at the least), Seems reasonable that ATL won't be as good as the Rams have been. Fact is, they might suck.
So sure no guarantees, just great odds thru trading. If the Rams even improve a few spots next year thru the trade (in a better draft as well let's hope), it's a win. But yeah, they are making a logical swing for the fences. No-brainer imo.

I think what I've learned is that you just never know with QBs and their ability to play at NFL level. You may be right, but how do you really know? I'm not upset we passed, but I would have been fine with adding him to compete. He's gotta be a better backup than Bennet. Maybe better than JG...just don't know. Seemed like value after round 3.....

Watched Colorado games. In fact most of them. If he was any good don’t you think someone would have taken him early and say his talent is worth what comes along with him………..
He may be better than Bennet but like I said side show says no don’t think so. No team wants that show with their 3rd QB…….

Ok. Lets just be honest and say nobody can tell if a top 10 vs 5th round QB will be the guy. You think from watching college. But you don't know. Purdy, Brady vs Wilson, Lance...etc. Seems like more if it was his BS off field antics.NorCal RF wrote: ↑April 29th, 2025, 6:29 am“ You may be right, but how do you really know?”RAMFAN71 wrote: ↑April 29th, 2025, 5:29 am

Forget what I think and hear what was said over the weekend. He was the definition of the bubble screen at Colorado. As we heard all weekend he is just not that good of an athlete unless one places a high opinion on what Mel Kiper thinks. I certainly don’t. He was an average QB in college.RAMFAN71 wrote: ↑April 29th, 2025, 7:52 amOk. Lets just be honest and say nobody can tell if a top 10 vs 5th round QB will be the guy. You think from watching college. Re: 2025 Draft. Les Snead's Greatest Work
Shedeur Sanders had a lot of success on a mostly horrible Colorado offense. It helped when Travis Hunter was in the line-up. But he sure took a brutal beating, esp his 1st year with the Buffaloes = worst O-line perhaps I’ve ever seen in college. And pretty much no run support. I thought he definitely showed talent.NorCal RF wrote: ↑April 29th, 2025, 11:24 amForget what I think and hear what was said over the weekend. He was the definition of the bubble screen at Colorado. And was pretty much the consensus #2 QB going into this draft. He’s a little on the shorter side for the NFL, but…
It’s his personality that I wouldn’t go near. Just not the leadership qualities I think teams are looking for. The word obnoxious comes to mind, and I can’t imagine where it would go it he played on a team that actually had top tier success. Prima donna rich brat…

Re: 2025 Draft. Les Snead's Greatest Work
bottom line is when the consensus with the NFL was he was only a backup QB, for the most part, teams shied away from him because of all the shit that comes with him. Remember GM's do talk to each other and the NY interview did get out. Word is Shoen wanted Shadeur and Daboll wanted Dart and once that interview happened it was an easy decision. this wasn't collusion this was teams doing their due diligence and making a decision on what they will and will not accept inside the building. I watched the draft and Kiper did lose his shit but IMO he was wrong when it came to Deion. Sure he won't be calling up the coaches but I don't believe the notion he will keep quiet if his kid isn't playing.RamPower wrote: ↑April 29th, 2025, 1:28 pmShedeur Sanders had a lot of success on a mostly horrible Colorado offense. I know this is all about optics, and looking like a 'boss' or whatever, but to party like this after being drafted so late is odd imo. For me, I am seeing a kid that is not willing to put in the work, nor lead w humility. I just see a lot of pride and someone who isn't willing to show up to meetings and interviews.
