Re: Rams @ Bucs... Who YOU got and Why?
Rams 35-Bucs 27
Rams pass rush will get to Brady.
Akers is fresh and hungry; Stafford needs to be thoughtful where he throws the ball.
Rams need to play with controlled aggression.

Re: Rams @ Bucs... Who YOU got and Why?
If the Rams win this week, they will win their next 2 games after.
Because if they continue the formula of Michel/Akers & Kupp/OBJ who is gonna beat that?
LA's defense was made for the QB with a walker- Brady will make his throws but his timing will be thrown off just enough. I can see 3 picks.
RAMS 33-31 on a late Gay FG to ice it.

A lot depends on the Refs. Will they allow the Rams to touch Brady without throwing flags.

Re: Rams @ Bucs... Who YOU got and Why?
Offensively I agree with others. Akers X factor. Very fresh legs and body. McVay needs to wear down Tampa DL early because………
We need to throw the ball to beat them. Other than Stafford, Josh Allen, and maybe Prescott look at the list of QB’s they played in the other 15 games. Not an impressive list but they still finished 21st overall in pass D. Wear down that DL early to slow down their pass rush and then exploit that pass D……….
Defensively sure get after Brady but remember Rams played Tampa before our 2 Niner games. Any bet Arians watched those two niner games? My bet is he is going to pound the ball until Rams D stops it……….
Tampa #1 in league on short pass completions. Rams dead last in stopping short passes. What does Brady do well? That “slow cut” theory will be on full display on Sunday. Will we have an answer to stop it………..
Who covers Gronk and Brate. Yes Brate…………..
I feel good about Tampa’s injuries to OL but I also remember just 2 weeks ago the niners starting two backup OT………..

The idea that Tampa is a great rush defense is more perception than fact. They can be run on and McVay should dial up a heavy dose of the run. Where the Tampa defense is very good is on 3rd down. Rams have to stay in makeable 3rd down situations.

Re: Rams @ Bucs... Who YOU got and Why?
This game seems to favor the Bucs. Rams must play close to the line of scrimmage on defense and take away or limit those short throws.
Rams MUST commit to the run, mix in deep play action passes.
I love our Rams, but I objectively see this as:
Bucs 30
Rams 23
“ On short passes to the middle, the Rams have allowed the highest completion percentage (80.2) in the NFL and rank 28th in average gain allowed (7.9 yards). On short passes to the left, right and middle, the Rams have allowed at least a 68.2 completion percentage.
Not the numbers you want ahead of a matchup with quick-passing maestro Tom Brady. Brady's average time to throw (2.48 seconds) is his fastest in the NGS era and trails only Ben Roethlisberger among all quarterbacks this season. Last week against Philadelphia, Brady had a 2.17-second time to throw, his fastest ever recorded by NGS. TB12's ability to get the ball out quickly helps to negate opposing pass rushes (ranks first in pressure rate), even one as fierce as the Rams'. ”

If our team's "D" can't pressure "Tom Terrific" in the pocket, it's almost certainly going to be a desperately difficult game for the Rams.
If Raheem Morris managed to make mediocre Jimmy Garoppolo look like Tom Brady, whom will he make "Tom Terrific" seem like, perhaps Joe Pendleton...?? :?

Re: Rams @ Bucs... Who YOU got and Why?
Wow. If Brady throws 3 picks, and they STILL score 31 points, the Rams have some real defensive issues. I like the 3 picks, hope not to see 31 pts WITH 3 picks though.RicoRamFan wrote: ↑January 19th, 2022, 3:19 pm If the Rams win this week, they will win their next 2 games after.

Re: Rams @ Bucs... Who YOU got and Why?
I agree with upland other than the final score. I think the Rams will find a way to win……………..
You can’t ignore that they will do what they do best on offense against a team that hasn’t stopped it all year. What upland and I stated is fact. Morris has to scheme to stop it. Brady’s release time is what upland said it is. Week 3 is like another season ago. It’s not gloom and doom but fact. Brady is going right after Reeder and Howard in coverage as well as corners who have struggled with the short stuff other than #5…………..
Tampa won’t be doing stuff “out of no where” DM……………

Re: Rams @ Bucs... Who YOU got and Why?
It was years ago. I post to best show off his athleticism.
He was supposed to start coming out if the 2020 season but he suffered a major injury in camp. Kenny Young replaced him.
Sean McVay shared some unfortunate news on Tuesday, revealing that projected starter Travin Howard suffered a torn meniscus in practice last week and will undergo surgery. He’ll miss the entire 2020 season, leaving the Rams with a void at linebacker.

Re: Rams @ Bucs... Who YOU got and Why?
Here is his grades and write up coming out of Monday game. He had a 90 coverage game.
Howard was a pleasant surprise with a career-best 90.6 grade, earning by far the highest coverage grade on the team (90.0) after allowing just three catches for 25 yards on eight targets.

You know where I stand with these grades lol. I’m more about what we see when we watch especially with us who go back and rewatch most games………….
I do remember the injury…………..

To quote the 'Bard of Avalon' himself, "And there's the rub."
Counting on Raheem Morris being able to counter Tom Brady's quick passing game, that sounds problematical to me... :( :?

the 2000 playoffs game was on 1/23, as this week's game is. The SI cover for his man of the year, is volume 132
Rams also won on 11/23/2020, 27-24.
Rams win 16-7,, 13-10, or 20-3.
Akers #23, has 77 or 100, maybe 123 yrds

So we can come back on Monday and say I was right……………

Re: Rams @ Bucs... Who YOU got and Why?
I have this feeling our DLine is going to feast against a banged up Tampa OLine. I see Aaron Donald with multiple sacks and hits/pressures, along with another Von Miller playoff game-caliber performance. I fully expect TB12 to break another Microsoft tablet on the sidelines.
Our offense continues to play a balanced attack with Akers/Michel setting up the passing game. Staff puts up another solid game and continues to slowly quiet the critics (which were unwarranted to begin with).
PLUS, we have the SI jinx on our side!
Rams 24
Bucs 17 (10 “real” points and a garbage time TD)

What exactly is your issue? I'm now saying Rams win. Did I say I was right when raiders lost? No, obviously not.
My macro point is it's staged regardless who wins.
In this case it looks like Rams in both game history narrative and numerology.
Packers, Bills, Bengals , as well

Gronk is huge and talented but slow so I think we can at least limit him somewhat-Brady will throw to anyone so you gotta pressure him to beat him and we excel at that. If Brady can make short passes all day and avoid getting hit we're in trouble. The TB front is massive and stuffs the run but you have to run it anyway to stay balanced. Stafford must play well and avoid costly mistakes and I expect him to do just that----Rams 28-17 with three TD's from Stafford.
