WTF is with Stafford?

Bottom post of the previous page:
That's not what happened only the tip is right. The deep ball to ObJ was a roll out he wasn't touched until after the throw. The other int was he wasn't hit after the throw the throw was way too low and no loft on the throw to get it over the three defenders. He should have thrown it away. Not sure why McVay didn't call a run instead of a low percentage pass.Ramsfan08ny wrote: ↑December 26th, 2021, 4:26 pmOne int got tipped, the other he got hit and couldn't follow through. This isn't rocket science, it's a physical game. Bad things happen when a ball is ripped at the line, and when a QB can't follow through on his throw. Some here are acting as though he's just making bad throw after bad throw. It's not the case.
Btw on 3rd and 2 Stafford rolled out again and underthrew OBJ on a deep crosser.
He is streaky and that's what scares me.

Are you calling Stafford a liar? Stafford said he was hit when he threw the 3rd int. He did say he struggled against the vikes and gave credit to the defense, running game and special teams for their play.malibu wrote: ↑December 28th, 2021, 9:23 pmThat's not what happened only the tip is right. I doubt he would lie. Some lion fans had their doubts about Stafford over the years but they all said he was a great stand up guy that didn't make excuses.

I thought Stafford said he misjudged OBJ's depth?Cornell29 wrote: ↑December 28th, 2021, 10:11 pm

Re: WTF is with Stafford?
With Stafford I think it’s mental… a lot of pressure to not be the Stafford that the media has pegged on him, although a big part of media/players fawn over him. There was a lot of negative press rearing up it’s head during our 3 game slump, I wouldn’t go as far as saying he is choking, but I get the sense he is struggling with it, especially after the Vikings game…
Now back to some good points, teams are good, especially the Vikes, they lost several close ones. The league is full of parody today, and it’s good for the game. The Vikings showed up, but, we should have owned that game…
Tough games ahead, let’s see if we hashed out our problems, I think we will…
GO RAMS…!

He did, when he missed OBJ wide opened on 3rd and 2.sanbagger wrote: ↑December 29th, 2021, 3:49 amI thought Stafford said he misjudged OBJ's depth?Cornell29 wrote: ↑December 28th, 2021, 10:11 pm

Re: WTF is with Stafford?
Difference from Brady and Stafford is way more mental toughness not arm strength.
Stafford has more arm strength but Brady makes way better decisions and it shows after moving to a different team he is leading the league right now in ypg.
I feel like Stafford is a good guy who has a gift with his arm but to me he feels to me he is not the brightest bulb in shed. Many of the 13 ints are on Stafford. Low throws causing tips causing an int. Under and over throws. Throwing into triple coverage stupid. Unexcusable imo.
Like I said he needs at points to manage the game not try and be always the hero and make stupidly tight windows no need.
He reminds me of the film star or recording artist or big exec who keeps being told how brilliant they are and they believe the adulation. In Stafford's case he needs to be smarter with his overall game and throw the ball away before he is sacked or if the primary receiver is covered and he is going to get taken down just throw it away and live to see another down.
What I want for the playoffs is consistency and less risk. He has the tools to lead us to a Superbowl with the ol/dl being so strong with the overall offense in general clicking especially new found run game.

Re: WTF is with Stafford?
When people ask why Mcvay keeps passing even when Stafford is struggling, its bc Stafford been known to turn it on, despite starting off slow. Stafford can go from Cold in the first quarter to Hot in the 4th.
He is very streaky, which is why Mcvay will never go Belichick and take the ball out of his qb hand on every down, even if he struggles. Mcvay seen what we seen. Stafford can turn hot at any time.

After 15 weeks, no one has figured out how slow down Kupp yet, so what makes you think Baltimore, with one of the worst secondaries in the league will stop Kupp?
He's more likely to get 11 catches for 140

Re: WTF is with Stafford?
With no running game and the defense playing like crap, Stafford carried the Rams the first 8 weeks.
I don't know what some of you were watching but Stafford has been really good most of the season.
Only Rodgers is having a better season imo

Re: WTF is with Stafford?
People keep saying the rams can't win a SB if the qb is prone to throw multiple ints in one game. The results says something different. Yes Stafford has to do a better job at limiti g turnovers but it isn't a death sentence.
