Definitely sad sad news. I was wondering if all was good with him because he hasn’t been in the spot light in awhile. RIP Sir! Thank you for all the great football memories!

This is a big loss to football. For my money he was the best commentator by a country mile. Most of the talking heads that cover games for TV sound like nothing to me. Totally lame commentary. You could feel the love and the passion in his voice and he knew the game like few today understand it. May you rest in eternal peace.

Re: John Madden passed
Always was a fan. Coached at Allan Hancock College that I attended many years later that honestly no one knows that college.
Listen to him, like we all did here in the Bay Area, every Monday morning for 20 years on KCBS radio who he had his weekly show with. Must listen every week.
He coached his players, just like Dick Vermeil, in a way where them as people was his first priority during a time when it was rare. Always admired that from both of them.
RIP coach and thank-you.

Right after a special about him. Fishy.
This pretty much guarantees a Raiders win Sunday, I think.
Maybe even a deep playoffs run.

Never liked him as a coach.
Loved him as a broadcaster.
Madden & Pat Summerall were the best NFL broadcasting tandem ever IMO.
Their last game together was the Ram's SB loss to NE.

Excuse me? You really have no clue what's happening. This is called predictive programing.DMRamFan wrote: ↑December 28th, 2021, 8:11 pmYou really have no decency, Cleveland.
Not the time to post your conspiracy theory BS.
Who knows, maybe Raiders win. But take a minute to respect the man at least.
Just no class by you. Seriously. Trash post.
And here we all thought w you starting a new account, you could turn over a new leaf.
Welp. I’ll let everyone else decide.
Has nothing to do with class and respect.
The new leaf is not bringing up politics in the Rams section.
Remember when Kevin Greene died? He was a Packers coach who played for Rams.
He died Dec 21, Rams clinch playoffs Jan 3rd and end up losing to Packers Jan 16. In playoffs.

Yeah, that had NOTHING to do with the Rams having a really good team.

He was the NFL god in my books.
His knowledge of the game and commentary had no boundaries.
I spent many many hours of my life playing the console game synonymous with his name. (Madden 2003 was still the best cover) ;)
Thanks for all the great memories John. You will be missed.
I feel a documentary watch coming on.
RIP

Spot on mate. John Madden was a giant of the game. Was a huge name over here too, which speaks volumes about his knowledge, style and the way he was able to spread the word about the game he loved.UK Rams Fan wrote: ↑December 29th, 2021, 2:02 am He was the NFL god in my books.

John Madden was a legend. Maybe the the most important figure in NFL history. Of course my favorite quote by him is this:
“If a Martian landed in my backyard, knocked on my door and asked me ‘What’s a football player?’ I’d go get Jack Youngblood.” – JOHN MADDEN
Taken from Youngblood's book

absolutely crushed by this horrible news. I thought something was up a couple of weeks ago when they were promoting this and Madden has not been seen in a while.
Being a SDSU alum was always a fan of Madden. Everything he touched turned to gold. Madden is football and just a horrible loss to us football fans.

Re: John Madden passed
I totally agree. I know Lombardi is considered to be the GOAT but I would argue Madden had a bigger impact in the overall equation. Crazy to think it took the HOF 30 yrs to elect him in. what a jokeDMRamFan wrote: ↑December 29th, 2021, 10:40 amI think the league needs to name the Superbowl or something like that after him. I remember back when we was in his prime broadcasting, people I knew who had no clue about football or could careless, would watch football just because of him. He drove an unreal amount of people to this game that maybe never would have watched.

Time to get back to football and football conversations.
No more conspiracy theories, trashing our team, basically constant trash post.
I’m done.
You and Toast take care of yourselves, Cleveland. Hope things work out for you two and you both find happiness.
I’m out.
