As a Ram fan since the mid sixties I know that you can never tell with any degree of certainty which Ram team will show up in a big game.

If I had to put money on it I would lean Cards and give the 2.5.

If the Rams somehow find a way to run the ball and use it to move the chains and open up the passing game, control possession and eliminate turnovers/penalties we got a shot.

It's only a few people left, like myself, who still believe in the Rams.

As you can see by the threads and posts over the last few weeks. Majority feel the rams are avg at best, and others feel they are mediocre and might not win more then a game or two for the rest of the year.

Oh well.

I don't have a lot of confidence in the Rams tonight. Hope, yes. Confidence, no.

Being able to beat arguably the best team in the nfl tonight imo isn't a must win. Beating lesser teams like Seattle, Niners and Vikes are the must wins. That would give the rams 11 wins.

Because thats the only way we wont make the playoffs. If we lose tonight, we will still be the 5th seed, alone.

I personally think if we lose tonight, its more of a morale blow to the team, and of course, us fans.

Lets not kid ourselves about tonight, Cards are healthy and now suddenly we are losing guys to Covid like its going out of style. To win tonight is yes, a BIG deal for a ton of reasons, but I disagree that we wont make the playoffs if we lose.

Now, if we did lose 3 or 4 of our last 5 games, we may not make it, maybe... but if we do lose that many... I think there could be some major changes coming to the Rams organization. After what we have given up to finish at 9-8 (like some of projected on here)... watch out. No one is safe imo. Rams have to sell tickets. This is a business. Especially after what the Chargers are doing right now... I mean that throw by Herbert yesterday was bananas. They are putting on a show right now. If we poop the bed tonight, maybe see some coaching changes sooner than expected.

Anything else but a deep playoff run will make those trades an unmitigated disaster. Rams absolutely need to win tonight and Stafford was brought in to win these games period.
