My Rams moves I'd make as trades and FA.....!!!

Post by RadRacerRams »

Of course I'd restructure contracts to free up cap space......

lets get started : trade Brockers for draft pick or picks depending on what Draft rounds......!!

tag S 43-John Johnson it's only 11.4 mill cap hit.....!!

offer DE 54 - L.Floyd a 4 year 44 mill contract with a 24 mill signing bonus making it a 20 mill cap hit over 4 years  5 mill per cap hit with a 1/5 bonus hit and drag it out down the road.......!!!

Offer DE JJ Watt a 4 year 50 mill deal with a 30 mill bonus up front and a 1/5 bonus hit dragged out......... :!: :!: Maybe even a 44 mill contract would get it done for JJ he's 31 years old......!! still has gas in the tank

go get a pretty good DT in FA..... there will be some guys out there signing on the Cheap......!!

trade DT Greg Gaines for draft picks....

go sign a deep threat wide receiver

Trade Robert Woods :x I hate to have to do this but I think he brings us a late 1st rounder or 2= 2nd rders.... but were gonna sign Marvin Jones JR to replace him .......should be an equal swap......!!! The 3 trades frees up Cap space......!!!

Signed RB= Duke Johnson to replace Rams RB=Malcolm Brown who's probably Gone in free agency..... to a 3 year = 11 mill contract .....with a 5 mill bonus up front to knock that Contract down to 6 mill over 3 years and a 1/5 bonus cap hit drag out..... :!:

Go RAMS : I think this gets us to 2 SB's over the next 3 years and the ability to win them both them .......!!!

PS. a Goal would be to Rebuilding the O-Line by trades and FA and the Draft there are gonna be some Guys Cut who could better our O-line ......I already have some moves in mind for that but With Donald , Floyd and Watt on the same D-Line , that would be Devastating for QB's to have to deal with , especially on passing downs.....!!

PS. what do you Guys have in mind for the Rams......

JJ Watt would be nice.

I think we need to find the best FA C available; not sure who that is.

We need a lickety-split #1WR. Would hate to lose Woods--even for a 1st round pick.

I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I'm a mostly no on those.
I get that people think Brockers contract is high.. but he's still a very solid lineman and one of the team's leaders. Maybe.. maybe he restructures? We'll see.
I'm not tagging JJ. I just think that they have faith that they've drafted well enough to move forward at the position and the money would be better spent elsewhere.
I don't think you're getting Floyd that cheap, I think $13 annual is the floor.
I don't see the Watt thing happening. But.. maybe you're right about the Brockers thing and they think they can upgrade with Watt. I just don't see it happening.
I don't know why your trading Gaines or what kind of picks you think you'd get for him. He's a decent, cheap, rotational defender.
Getting some deep speed will happen. Will it happen at the cost of Woods? I doubt it. The Rams love Woods and Kupp for their complete games and complete commitment to their roles, including blocking.
I'm not throwing that kind of money at Duke Johnson when I have Henderson and Akers. If anything, I see Malcolm coming back at a vet minimum or slightly higher one-year deal.

It's too early for me to get too specific.. but here are my overall priorities.

Edge.
Pass rush is absolutely critical. Have a dominant pass rush and the rest of the defense becomes that much easier. I'd look for one "bargain" guy and one legit guy in FA because I don't think the Rams have anyone you can truly depend on. The potential is there, if Lewis could stay healthy.. but I won't bet a season on it.

Center. By priority, I mean that there is no current starter option I'm comfortable with on the roster right now. I don't believe in Allen. So.. they need a starter and a draft pick, imo.

OT. Gotta get someone in you think can replace Whit. If you get one in the second round.. maybe it's a guy you think can start at RT and you trade Hav.

Corner. Can't have too many good corners. Period.

WR/KR/PR Gotta have some deep speed and I'm hoping they can upgrade return game at same time.

DL. Brockers is getting up there, Robinson hasn't shown much and you need to start working on the future while getting quality depth.

ILB. I think they have starting candidates on the roster with Kiser, Reeder, Rozeboom and Howard. They'll bring in someone too.

Safety. Good to bring another in.

That's where I'm at today.

Nice Post. I thought Joe Notebloom did a nice job replacing Whit.

I would not think about trading Brockers as he played outstanding this season and his contract is actually a bargain. Same goes for Gaines as his play is on an upward trajectory and he is on a cheap rookie contract. JJ was a great Ram but the safety position is already loaded and while the Rams might miss his leadership they definitely planned and prepared for his departure. I would offer Floyd a three year deal but not get into a bidding war. Watt is a pipe dream as he is going to get paid well beyond what the Rams can offer. Rams should focus on getting D. Williams locked up. I think the Rams can find a replacement for Brown in the draft or udfa market. I would sign a veteran deep threat like D. Jackson on a chasing a ring team friendly deal to minimize the cost if he can’t stay healthy.

The best Center in the NFL is a FA this off-season Packers Corey Linsley he is better than Alex Mack based on age and Mack is a FA but contemplating retiring.

Can’t see paying for JJ, Floyd or Watt, nor giving up Gaines after drafting him high. Woods has been very solid and almost injury free. M. Jones has been super but riddled with injuries. We already have a QB with that history. Don’t see the value as Jones won’t come cheap. With Fuller, Burgess and Rapp, JJ is gone. JMO

Center is our biggest FA need and if we can draft a 2nd round OT/G all the better.

I don’t have to say no to high priced FA signings. Our cap sez it all. I don’t see dumping or trading more players mid contract. J. Johnson is gone. We have the depth. Sign CB Williams and say good-bye to Floyd, Browne, Blythe, etc.

We can afford a burner at WR and there are many to choose from who won’t break the bank. Aguilar, Ross, Davis, Perriman. Go Godwin, Golladay, or Robinson or even AJ Green or M. Jones if you need to bump Jefferson. OLine needs to be beefed up. The play has been decent but we need big bodies to protect Stafford.

We need to replace Floyd and Ebukam and can do it with 3-4 signings and keep the best two.
