Re: Game Thread - Rams at Packers
Game keys for the Ram defense:
1) Get in Rodger's face...force the Pack running game, and.....
2) Stop Pack running game at the edges;
Keys for Ram offense:
1) NO, ZERO, NIL TURNOVERS, and
2) Run between tackles....a lot.

Yup Mcvay first year. Watkins ability to score in the redzone on simple slants in traffic is still missed.

Even Sammy is missing it.
118th in receptions, 109th in yds and 2 rec TDs.
And all for only $15.8 million.
Woods, Kupp, Reynolds all ahead of him in all three stats except he’s tied with Reynolds in TDs.

I’ve watched and listened to all of the talk radio and TV commentary. The Rams have no chance of winning this game.

Re: Game Thread - Rams at Packers
Agreed, he was terrific snagging passes near the goal line.
That 27-23 win over the Titans clinched the 2017 NFC West title (their first since '03) for the Rams, I believe...

He isnt the same Watkins but that doesn't change the fact that the rams havent replaced the redzone threat that he provided.

Re: Game Thread - Rams at Packers
Man, I wish this game would happen already! I’m starting to get anxious!
Unless the packers completely melt down (which I don’t see happening at all), the rams only have one path to victory. We must disrupt Rodgers early and often, our pass rush must be as deadly as it was against Seattle. We also must be able to effectively run the football. Cam/our backs need to go for at least 130+ combined. If we are unable to do one or both of those, rams don’t really have any chance. Rodgers cannot be allowed comfort in the pocket and Goff cannot be allowed to air it out. Let’s go rams!

Yeah, even I am a little surprised at the lack of respect for the BEST defense in the league.Tenacious T wrote: ↑January 15th, 2021, 9:30 pm I’ve watched and listened to all of the talk radio and TV commentary. The Rams have no chance of winning this game.

Oh well...hopefully the Rams will play well and show what they're made of.
Just like last week - don't give up an early TD, play decent ST's, and play a balanced game offensively.

Yeah, that sucks. Who will start at LT for the Packers? Sounds like they are down to their 3rd choice. Let AD have a few shots at edge!DMRamFan wrote: ↑January 16th, 2021, 7:06 am Well, crap.

Look for some huge running holes on the off track...lotta defenders will be slipping and off balance.

Watkins was a reason we were so good in the redzone in 17. Getting the physical X guy should be a priority this off season

True, with a loss it hampers your enthusiasm for the rest of the games. I prefer having the last game....makes the first three games more interesting to watch.

Re: Game Thread - Rams at Packers
Green Bay pass defense is top notch and they can get after the qb.
With a injured Kupp, the rams lack receiving weapons. I expect alot of double tight end sets, dunks and dunks and running the ball.
Mcvay really dropped the ball not getting a proven wr to replace Cooks.

So it’s Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown at RB today right?

Re: Game Thread - Rams at Packers
All the omens are looking negative--Cooper Kupp uncertain, Aaron Donald hampered by his rib injury, Jared Goff throwing with an injured thumb, John Wolford knocked out.
Plus there's the fact that our team last managed a three-game winning streak at the beginning of the 2019 season, and it's on a two-game streak now.
What are the chances of the Good Guys now doing what they couldn't manage all during '20, winning a third consecutive game?
It would require an awesome performance by the Rams on "D" and in their running game... ;) :?

No Kupp not much to throw to except Woods. Green bay secondary is outstanding.
