Watching Paxton Lynch's Pro Day
Currently watching Paxton Lynch's pro day, (it started early due to weather) and do not need to wait until is concludes to make this statement, If he is on board when Rams select at 15 they should run to podium and get his card turned in. By far the most upside of any qb in this class. Some may look more polished than Lynch season one or two, but this kid will have the best pro career I do firmly believe.
Lot to love about his approach to the game, kid purely has fun and this style of leadership will go a long way in the grueling 16 game schedule. Perfect fit for Rams who have a very youthful roster that may get even younger on the offensive side as it is reconstructed moving forward. Natural leader who can clearly relate to the players that come out of the college game today.
Most seem certain he will be on board at 15 when the Rams select. Almost all agree he will need to sit a season or two. Mayock and company discuss the great fit he would be for teams like Cardinals, SD and Cowboys at the end of 1 or early 2 as the eventual replacement for their respective aging qb's. Well that exact scenario applies to teams like NO and the Giants who select earlier than Rams in round 1. The teams sitting immediately behind Rams in round 1 were all in attendance. Trading down and still coming out of round 1 with Lynch is not an approach I would recommend Rams take here if they are interested. Although Mayock feels otherwise my take is Buffalo has an extreme interest in Lynch sitting at 19 behind Rams. Began hearing connections of Lynch and Buffalo very early this draft season. KC and NO as well. SD and Whisenhunt have a strong interest as well.
Lynch's footwork has come a long long way in a very short time. His upside is very very intriguing and inside NFL circles him being higher on many draft boards than Goff or Wentz would not surprise me. If Lynch will be on board at 15, no need for Rams to trade up for a qb this draft.

We need to call the Ravens because unless the 49ers are brain dead (though hiring Chipper makes me wonder) there is no way Lynch gets past 7

I'll be happy with Paxton Lynch at 15, but I would not trade up to get the other QBS versus giving up quality picks. Lets keep our picks and get some quality starters in round 2. Thanks for posting.

Re: Watching Paxton Lynch's Pro Day
I also watched the pro day. I'm not sure how anyone could be overly impressed by it.
I'm sure Mannion could have done exactly the same...probably better.
His accuracy wasn't great. He underthrew the WR's on longer routes.
Yes, his footwork was better. Yes, he has a strong arm, is athletic, and has the size.
If the Rams take him at 15, so be it. But I think there will be better options in that slot. As a few analysts have stated, he's not ready to step in and start from the get-go.
He "could" start for some of the better teams...then again, he also "could" start for a poor team. Either way, that wouldn't be ideal. He's a project with a lot of upside.
I'm luke warm on him. I like his upside...but lot's of guys have upside. I like what I've seen in college. I don't know.
I imagine he'll end up being a decent pro. I just don't think he's ever going to be great...or even as good as a guy like Cutler.
