Is our defense overrated? we'll soon know
Statistically the defense is very good but who did we really beat?
Texans's offense sucks, Cam Ward is a (bad) rookie, then the Ravens with Cooper Rush at the helm, Trevor Lawrence is mediocre most of the time, then Shough another rookie...not really world beaters.
The only capable QBs we faced lit us up: Mc Jones and Jalen beat us and Jones and Indy should have won if not for that dude who cost them 2 more TDs...
I'm worried, now we'll face the Niners again, Baker, Darnold x2, the Lion's offense is always good, even the Panthers have a competent offense..
Hope the defense shows-up, let's see what Shula can really do.

The 49ers' 2025 offensive rank is 10th in total yards per game (352.1) and 8th in points per game (26.1). The Niners has a very good offense.
Imo, Rams D need to keep the Niners under 24 while getting lots of 3 and outs.
Do not allow the niners to drain down the clock. Would love for the rams D to get a few 3 and outs in the 1st, to give the O a chance to jump on the niners.

Can’t allow Jones to dink and dunk for sure / also keeps MS and Rams O watching from the sideline. Shula must be aware of this as his game plan 1st time around vs the SF O was his worst effort of the year.

Re: Is our defense overrated? we'll soon know
very interesting point, as I've said everywhere I could, I think our defense this week needs to be about quality scheme, I think we have the talent to beat the 49ers, but we never seem to want to run a scheme that beats them, we are either too flat with too many past rushers on the line of scrimmage or we're sitting back and playing soft coverage with two over the top safeties
I know playing a cover one forces some man-to-man coverage and that's not our defense however we can certainly run a hybrid and that's what I think we need to do against these guys, I think bringing Quentin Lake down and playing 26 on most Downs and having a very cluttered linebacking area is going to clog up their crossing routes
If you take away the first and second read and you add two or 3/10ths of a second onto Mac Jones time in the pocket, we are going to get there
in addition eight guys in the box with four upfront, is going to be tough to run against especially with the screens and stretch place these guys like to run
I think we need to have Mac Jones and the deep ball beat us

Jalen didn't beat us. We lost due to a field goal being blocked and returned for a Touchdown. You guys keep saying "Indy should have beat us". They didn't. Case closed.AntiGoof wrote: ↑November 9th, 2025, 6:53 am Statistically the defense is very good but who did we really beat?

Re: Is our defense overrated? we'll soon know
No, our defense is not overrated. Our defense is legit. It's been a while since we had to lean on our defense to close out a game but they did it yesterday.
