McVay - No to upgrading CB’s??

Post by GlendoraRam »

After saying after the 49ers game they would “look into adding cornerback” help,
He is now saying the Rams won’t be adding help.
"That hasn't been something that we've talked about," he said about the prospect of adding more cornerbacks to the roster. "You know, we're always looking at ways to be able to upgrade the roster. I think, those guys did a good job and we'll continue to lean into them."

Last Friday:
Sean McVay said during his call with reporters on Friday that the Rams will “look into” adding a cornerback to aid with the struggles on the back end.

Figures

Imo that means the Rams arent ready to make a deal yet. Rams have to wait closer to the trade deadline to get the best deals and more players to choose from.
So, to keep team morale up among the dbs, he'll dismiss it for now. When the trade deadline approaches, Boom a deal is made. JMHO

Very good take, Cornell. I think you are right, 3 weeks before the deadline, and who knows, he could just be playing a bit of poker. (never tip your hand)

I’d like to see Green and Lampkin get a shot, but since they’ll be in the Baltimore area for a week, I wouldn’t be surprised if a CB based in Ohio or Maryland ends up a Ram then.

Maybe they believe in Tre Brown. His ST penalty Thursday was not a good sign though.

Too early but if we get expised in the Balt and Jville game a plan will be in place. Truthfully i have heard all the potential names and none appeal to me except for Gardner too expensive and Ward might be able to pry him from Cleveland if they bomb the next 2 weeks if they play both weeks
