One of the more disheartening losses I can remember

Post by Idaho_Ram »

All losses hurt, but this one is in a special category.

After waiting ALL off-season and being the team that "played Philly the closest" in last years playoffs...to DOMINATE the first half and be up 19 points early in the second half...only to let them sneak in at the end. It just sucks. We found every way to lose that game. I am so SICK of ALMOST beating the Eagles. That felt like more than one loss.

I have to go back to the Jets loss or maybe that Niner lost when the rams were up at the half.

It was bad

Painful. Let’s see what happens next week against a tough Colts team.

Oh joy
Use to be able to feel good when the rams take a lead, now it will be 4 quarters of stress bc no rams lead is safe.

They’ve yet to play 4 strong quarters. Maybe that’ll happen next week. Maybe it’ll be torture.

Hey, at least it’s not the playoffs and still very early in the season.

Plenty of time to rebound, regroup and make our way back into the Super Bowl…. I mean, why not us?! 🤷🏻‍♂️

I trust our Rams will figure this out. I really do and not just being a homer. We’re so damn talented. In fact, I don’t even think we have hit our stride yet, I truly do believe this team is actually going to get much better. Analytics, and everything else even seems to prove this.

We literally went into the Super Bowl winning team’s house, played an early morning game (to us), and beat the crap out of OURSELVES (along w some ref help too).

Think about it. Can anyone honestly sit there and say that the Eagles just flat out beat us today?. Not even the Eagles fans can admit this. They know they stole one from us today.

At least let’s hope it doesn’t have a season long effect……

As good a coach as mcvay is he has too many of these collapses now. The aw shucks well get em next week isn't good enough for.

He needs to bbq the defense for giving up a 19 pt lead.

Mcvay won't let that happen. That is why he is a great hc. I just wish he could be a little better as a play caller. Not saying he is bad of course, but there is a lot of room for improvement. But I still pin this loss on the players. Bad execution all around. Shelton doesn't tackle that guy and we scored a Td and the sts line can hold their blocks karty could have made 2 or at least 1 of those fgs. We win.

I mean to me how you play is more important than the end result. So I feel way better about the team after this game than I did in Week 1.

And the Eagles are def not the special team they were last year if Barkley is average

As far as play calling

Answer me this

If a play ends up with a pass that hits the WR in the gut but falls through his hands inbounds in the end zone,is that a bad play call?

This is the result of settling for FG's, and what the hell is with Staff/Adams, Adams is not doing well in converting his targets into catches, yet they seem to forcing the ball to him. Granted I don't watch, so maybe someone can explain the disconnect between targets and catches

Part of Adams’s struggle is that Stafford sometimes forces it to him, and the ball is a little off. Are there really not other options on the field?

Today’s loss would have been a little less painful if SF wouldn’t have made their game-winning field goal. Arizona just needed a first down to run out the clock.

The family and I will be at Sofi next week. I was really hoping for the battle of the unbeatens. Now I'm worried I'm going to watch us go 2-2.

We HAD this game and just totally crapped the bed. TWO blocked field goals?? How is that even possible?

Super bad loss for sure we beat ourselves Philly didnt beat us. Very unlucky with two blocked FGs and many other things.

What i honestly take away this team is top 3-4 in rhe NFL. We can't have this type of loss in the future.

Reminds me of the MNF game against the Montana 9ers way back in 1989.
We had already beat SF at Crumblestench and were leading this game 17-0 in the 1st quarter and 27-10 in the 4th Quarter.
But Montana had 2-90+ yard TD's to John Taylor in the same F'n game, never mind decade, and the 9ers came all the way back and stole the game.
On National TV, with 20 4th Quarter points aided by an awful fumble by Rams KR Ron Brown at our 10, with 5 minutes left on the clock and us still clinging to a 27- 23 lead. TD makes it 30-27 9ers, with 3 1/2 to go.
They Sacked Everrett on 3rd and long, forcing us to punt with 2 minutes left and 3 TO's., they got a first down and ran the clock out.
We still ended up in the NFC CF at Crumblestench but got it handed to us 30-3.
I still believe that if we hadn't collapsed that MNF game, although we still would have finished 1 game behind them for the division, we may have been a little more confident and in their heads after beating them twice, that the result may have been a little different.
They went on to win the SB again. That was at the end of the year not the beginning like today's mess.
Seems when we blow a game we don't F around.

It was F horrible but let's shake it off , on to week 4 . I have a feeling the rams will come out on FIRE and will destroy the colts. That is why mcvay is a damn GOOD HC , you will see his players playing even harder for him next week . He won't let this shit shake their confidence.
