I think the NFC north and AFC west are the hardest to predict. The Raiders have to be an improved team. And is every team in NFC north good?

The point about longevity at QB and Stafford was excellent... crazy stats on Brady after 37.

Stafford could be around another 5 years and I stand by what i said before that they are more likely to trade for QB in the future.

I think it depends on who's there when their first round picks are on the clock. If a 1st round QB falls in their lap with no trade-up required, by all means I think they need to pounce. That opportunity doesn't happen often.

Yes that is a possibility if Atlanta has a bad season

Brady is a fukkking unicorn, I don't know if he ever had a concussion, he had the one knee issue one season then I don't know if he missed a game beyond that.

Stafford had a few concussions and many injuries. McSnead is a good enough drafter to find a tackle or a cornerback, but a franchise QB? Very rarely are they late round gems.

IMHO draft one next year and if we have a Favre/Aaron Rodgers or a Montana/young situation where the heir apparent spends an extra year learning from the master, well then great

One word of caution, if your plan is to ride Matthew Stafford for two or three more years we better find a swing tackle this year, whether it's a free agent signing or a trade we better get one

I actually agree with Cowherd, which is not always the case. We spend our time hoping/wishing for a QB in next year's draft, while finding a franchise QB is still 50% hit rate in the first round. All the talk on Archie Manning is the same talk we heard on Trevor Lawrence. We need to realize that we are living in the "Good ole days" right now! Stafford is our best chance for another SB win. Yes, we need to always be looking toward the future, but not at the expense of the now.

Here are all the QBs drafted in the last 4 years in round 1...how many of these QBs would you rather have this year, than Stafford? (I don't care about Fantasy stats...who can help us win a SB.)

Caleb Williams
Jayden Daniels
Drake Maye
Michael Penix
JJ McCarthy
Bo Nix
Bryce Young
CJ Stroud
Anthony Richardson
Kenny Pickett
Trevor Lawrence
Zach Wilson
Trey Lance
Justin Fields
Mac Jones

Great post... this is why i think when they eventually replace Stafford, it will be through FA in another block buster deal... drafting early is too risky.. My feeling is that Stafford has a few years left in him

And McVay already knows what Cowherd stated……………

So NorCal - what's the attitude up North? Have the insufferably ever-overconfident whiner fans become at least a tiny bit realistic about their fans projected team greatness for 2025?

Honestly right now it’s all Warriors n a bit of Giants………….

Purdy continues to be the talk when they are brought up post draft. Many don’t understand why not signed yet. Like most fan bases you have a mixture of great draft to not sure wait n see.

They are not a smart fan base IMO. They always think they are the SB favorites. Most still have the mindset of 30 years ago……….

Makes sense - so Curry expected out for at least a week?

Yeah hopefully the Rams can start beating that fan base back into reality in the upcoming years...

What is the rumor on Purdy? $50M+ or $40M? I am guessing his agent is expecting too much? I hope they give him $65M/year!! My guess is he will come in around $45M/year for 4 years with $100M guaranteed.

At least a week yes. Being a big time Warrior fan we have seen how Kerr deals with such. He won’t be back until Minnesota wins two games. Until then he won’t play.

If Minnesota plays like they did the other night Curry won’t play until next series. JMO they have enough to beat Minnesota if guys like Heild, Podzienski, Payton, n Moody play well. The later two have that playoff experience from a few years ago and played very well.

The consistent thought here who cover the team is they have had an offer of $45m per on the table for a while now. He is not going to take it. Most think his representation wants $55-60m n this will get done at around $50-52m. But they have been clear not what the niners want. But niners don’t want to go back into draft for a QB either.

We are reminded here Niners can force him to play under current contract for 25. Most think they won’t, he would probably hold out, but again those in the know say they really want him to take the $45m per. Especially York n Shanahan has been removed from such decisions.

For me, it all depends on how Stafford looks this year. If he still looks great at 37 then by all means keep rolling with him in 2026. Ridiculous stats for Brady after 37, geeze. I had no idea.

Imagine how loaded this team would be if we traded down with one of those 1st's for a few 2nd's and a 3rd. With another 1st we could add 3-4 instant starters. What we do in the draft next year all rides on 2025. If we win the SB I'd go for a QB 100%. If we have a carbon copy of last year where we make some noise in the playoffs and Stafford still looks great I'd load up this team with more young talent for 2027.

I don't think so about him playing another 5 years. Brady rarely (if every) got hit.
Stafford has taken a beating - from thumb to ribs to a bad back and more.
