Re: Rest Starters Now
Not sure it will matter - team is in a downside @ the worst time and while they may be able to beat TB/Carolina on their turf, that will be it IMO no chance anywhere in the next game. Just too flawed and defensively weak.

I think they need MORE time on the field, not less. They need to get their shit back together, or least close to being in the same sack

Re: Rest Starters Now
let's count the ways why this won't happen
1) 4 guys coming back from injury that need the time on field
2) Getting the 5 seed is important and they must win to get that chance
3) Team is out of synch...not what you want going into playoffs, they need to fix it
4) Stafford needs to get back out there and shake off the last few weeks so he's feelin it again
I do think if the Rams go up big in the first half McV backs it down, but as long as Stafford is playing the 1's will be out there

Re: Rest Starters Now
Seems like we've been playing prevent something all season. Like gambling on 4th down alot because we don't trust the kicker.
Deliberately Kicking Off thru the EZ for a 35 yard line TB because we don't trust ST's coverage.
And playing too much soft zone/prevent defense because we don't trust the DB's.
And you don't want to give up a big play but you allow 3 or 4 10+ yards plays in a row and they're in your RZ again in a 2 or 3 minutes!
And now you want to sit people with still something to play for? Not me!
AFAIC the Offense has done a great job covering for all that and getting us to 11 wins, when you really think about it.
When they slip up, we lose. The other 2 phases don't cover for them.
Time to man up and play football for 60 minutes, execute and we can't be beat!

Re: Rest Starters Now
Rams need the Cards again to be their get back into the grove game.
The SB year the Rams were coming off a winless November, and a horrible defeat to the Niners, the last week of the season.
Rams played the cards in wildcard round and got everything working. It was the exact matchup the Rams needed.
Rams need to use the Cards the same way again. They need to get right and healthy this upcoming game. Hopefully AJ can play, but the other players that are injured can sit out and rest. With a healthy AJ, Rams offense should have what they need to get their grove back. Spoon played much better this past game vs atl, he should get the start vs the Cards.
I think this is the week Rams get back on point

Re: Rest Starters Now
They are not out of synch at this point, they have collapsed and just SUCK. Out of synch does not get you outscored 45-7 over 3 quarters and overtime. SUCKING does. They were 30-14 up, were outscored 24-7 from that point, then down 21-0 over the first half. AND of the 24 they scored in half 2 only 17 were the offense. So the Rams offense have put up 24 points in the last 5 quarters plus overtime and they've given up 51. Sorry that's NOT and out of synch problem. It's also NOT a recipe for playoff successsanbagger wrote: ↑December 31st, 2025, 9:41 am let's count the ways why this won't happen

Their shit is SO far from being together at this point. Will people coming back help? Certainly HOPE so, but a lot of these guys appear to be WAY more fragile than they should be

Re: Rest Starters Now
I think all the starters who can start play, but if SF wins against Seattle our fate is cast so I imagine we rest the starters at halftime no need for injury. But if Seattle wins we need to beat AZ. The 5th seed is easier due to the location. Carolina or TB is way better weather wise than Philly or Chicago. So to me it depends on who wins SF/Seattle.

Rest starters and risk a loss? I don't know what's worse potential injury or another loss even if meaningless.

Mcvay already said everybody is playing , and they should . THEY SUCK right now and they need to improve , can't improve much in ONE game but you can certainly at least START to improve.malibu wrote: ↑January 1st, 2026, 3:42 pm I think all the starters who can start play, but if SF wins against Seattle our fate is cast so I imagine we rest the starters at halftime no need for injury. Re: Rest Starters Now
Shula needs to go. He just doesn't have it. When the D gets progressively worse then it was, then it's not so much the talent, AFAIC.brasilrams wrote: ↑January 1st, 2026, 6:48 pmMcvay already said everybody is playing , and they should . They started out pretty good, but benefitted from playing teams missing play makers early in the season plus some O's that just plain stunk.
Once the teams rounded into better Offensive shape, the Rams D has looked like one of the leagues worst.
Also, we pulled the trifecta, ST's gave up a 58 yard PR TD 2 games ago and last week the O gave up a pick 6 and the D a 93 yard TD run.
Isn't that 2 Pick 6's in 3 games for Staff now? All 3 phases taking a turn being on the wrong end of a big play. And everyone screaming at Sean!
JV just pulled the Blocked FG/Return ST's TD for us @ Atlanta but you have to go back quite a bit for the last time the Rams busted a long one like Robinson did or returned a Pick, KO or Punt for a TD.
This shit happens against us all the time but seldom for us. Been that way seems like over almost the whole McSnead tenure.

Dotson won’t play Sunday vs the Cardinals but McVay isn’t ruling him out for the playoffs.

I don’t get why any one of significance would play if SF wins tonight.
