Sean McVay
Since the Super Bowl, his record is 29-28.
At what point does he deserve some real criticism on several issues?
I have my concerns.
Didn’t address the piss poor linebackers for two full seasons.
Still doesn’t seem to value stud cornerbacks.
We haven’t seen Jarquez Hunter at all.
Doesn’t play rookies much. For example, Ferguson made a great catch tonight - then disappeared for the rest of the game.
His play calling is awful at times.
What’s really up with Steve Avila?
He has had great assistants who have gone on to become head coaches, maybe those people are the ones who made a real difference.
I know this is a hot topic and I am not calling for changes… yet.
I frankly am bit tired of his endless excuses. Tonight’s game perfectly reflected my concerns.

Re: Sean McVay
I was ready to call for his head when we started 0-5 last season — and yeah, he turned it around, we ended up having a great run and almost beat Philly in their house if not for Limmer’s brain-dead mistake at the end and, of course, KW’s fumble.GlendoraRam wrote: ↑October 2nd, 2025, 11:26 pm Since the Super Bowl, his record is 29-28.

But here we are again. Despite being 3-2 with plenty of games left, the same issues keep killing us. One of McVay’s biggest flaws is he takes forever to make changes. How many more kicks need to be blocked before he finally replaces the kicker, the STs coach, or BOTH? KW keeps fumbling in clutch moments and yet they extended him and made him RB1. Unbelievable.
The lack of investment in the O-line and CBs is exposed every single week. This O-line gets zero push on 3rd-and-1 or 4th-and-1. Can’t convert with a QB sneak, can’t convert with the RB. It’s pathetic.
McVay needs to overhaul the entire STs operation ASAP. To me, we’ve lost both games this season because of special teams and the kicking operation. If Karty nails that XP and that FG, we win this game even with KW’s choke-job fumble. (And of course, if he doesn’t fumble, we still win — but you get the point.)
And honestly, I’m starting to wonder if hiring Shula was ever the right move. His defense looks completely unprepared half the time. Today he got absolutely schooled by Rat’s Face, and it wasn’t even close. Despite being hurt Jones still passed for over 330 yards.
I still believe in Mcvay but it is no denying that his first 4 years here were much better than the last 4 years ( overall I mean , of course we won it all in 2021 ) but I mean OVERALL .
Back in the days the rams used to CRUSH inferior teams just like DETROIT does nowadays. But now, the rams ALWAYS plays to the competition level , we barely win games ( sometimes even lose like today ) that we were supposed to win by 15 points .
Also ,This offense and defense have no vocal leader. Nobody who gets in a teammate’s face and yells — whether it’s chewing them out or firing them up. I’m talking about those mini huddles players have on the field when things are going wrong, you know? Like the one AD did before the play that sealed the Conference Championship game? That’s exactly what I mean.
Who’s the leader on offense? Stafford? He’s great and very respected, but he’s way too calm. I don’t see him on the sidelines holding players accountable the way Tom Brady used to. And on defense, who is it? Who’s the leader? There isn’t one.

Re: Sean McVay
I just don't understand how he did not have this team ready to play tonight! They came out less than flat they looked dazed from the beginning. The first quarter was pathetic and embarassing. Look McVay is excellent at schemes on offense and is a very decent human being but I get tired hearing about how much he 'loves' this team and how everyone on it is a 'stud'. I think he is too much rah rah and not enough grit. His teams play soft and at times timid...tonight was just inexcusable...The Rams seldom impose their will on anyone...and the OL has been a shambles for too long and that is on him.

Re: Sean McVay
I think that McVay is brilliant, but he sometimes seems overloaded. I’d like to see LaFleur have primary play calling duties for one game just to see if the overall team play is stronger. They were dominated by a very wounded divisional rival at home. That shouldn’t have happened.

Re: Sean McVay
The 9ers came into this game tonight knowing if they punched the Rams in the mouth they would wilt and they did. If the 9ers were at full strength this game would not have been close...completely uninspired football

This is spot on. The 9ers didn't throw a deep pass all night. The 1st two drives we played such soft zones like we were playing the greatest show on turf rams.
But mcvsy as ive said has too many of these on the resume now. Literally he is destroying a once promising season.
The proof will be in the pudding now. We have 10 days to prepare for a road game against a very desperate Ravens team.
I dont feel good right now. Im sick about what just happened.

We cant draft or get in FA cbs we only have so many draft picks and $ in fa. They prioritized upgrading wr and they did and the ILB/NT and we did both successful examples. The cb market was way thin. Witherspoon wasnt hurt when we were drafting or acquiring in FA so stop trying to have revisionist thinking. The db room isnt the strongest even with Witherspoon but they would have been better.

Your thoughts?
1. there are position groups that he devalues way too much, seems to rotate between these groups, let's not forget that Landman was not a product of deep focus on improving the linebacker position or was Speights/Dolac
2. there are too many games we are losing because coaching, the field goal issue to me is coaching, the red zone issues are coaching
3. personnel is his biggest weakness, besides ignoring position groups ie Center, LBer, CB, he refuses to play guys he spent a lot of capital on and then he refuses to have balance, how much of our offense is puka and Kyren? 90%
idk, he needs to do better

“That’s not winning football”
—McVay
“We had a chance to close the game out and ultimately it didn’t go down for us,” he said. “There was a significant amount of things – for us to even be in it was a real credit to the resilience of the group. That’s not winning football tonight. There was a lot of really good plays at different points that kept us competitive, gives us a chance to go to overtime, but we certainly did more to lose that game than we did to win it, and it did compound, for sure.”
