Maybe AD will come back now after the Parsons deal
$188M for 4 years, w $120M guaranteed. $47M per.
Ummm, that is more than some very good QB's salary... insane. So, maybe AD will come back now... and in all honesty, im not saying the Rams can or will afford that, but damn... Green Bay will sure be handicapped w that cap, ESPECIALLY if Micah goes out w his back issues...
Dude is making more than Stafford, Geno Smith, Patrick Mahomes, D Watson, and Kyler Murray...
(Box on left is total contract and box on right is Per season). This puts Parsons the highest paid D of ALL TIME.

Re: Maybe AD will come back now after the Parsons deal
Good grief… Dallas got both ‘26 and ‘27 Packers first rounders… so this means Dallas has 4 first round picks in two drafts (2 in ‘26 and 2 ‘27)… talk about major negotiating factors for Dallas.
Hypothetical question here …Maybe they trade them all to nab Arch or another top QB?
Say the Browns win worst team… currently Cleveland already has TWO first round picks in ‘26. Say they trade w Dallas and take their 2 first round picks… that’s FOUR first round picks IN THE SAME DRAFT. Not sure we’ve ever seen this, but this could happen. 4 first rounders is LIFE changing to ANY franchise.
Now our 2 first round picks in ‘26 doesn’t look so great...
Damn you Green Bay. Damn you!

IF they do right by these picks it will be a huge bump on the roster. Big question is IFDelMar wrote: ↑August 28th, 2025, 2:59 pm Good grief… Dallas got both ‘26 and ‘27 Packers first rounders… so this means Dallas has 4 first round picks in two drafts (2 in ‘26 and 2 ‘27)… talk about major negotiating factors for Dallas.

Kinda reminds me of when the Cowboys traded Hershell Walker for 5 guys...then cut them and took 5 draft picks from Minny...that won Jerry a SuperbowlDelMar wrote: ↑August 28th, 2025, 2:59 pm Good grief… Dallas got both ‘26 and ‘27 Packers first rounders… so this means Dallas has 4 first round picks in two drafts (2 in ‘26 and 2 ‘27)… talk about major negotiating factors for Dallas.

I forgot about that Walker deal, and you nailed it. They won those SB's after that all went down. Took 2 seasons, but they sure got dominate.sanbagger wrote: ↑August 28th, 2025, 3:21 pmKinda reminds me of when the Cowboys traded Hershell Walker for 5 guys...then cut them and took 5 draft picks from Minny...that won Jerry a SuperbowlDelMar wrote: ↑August 28th, 2025, 2:59 pm Good grief… Dallas got both ‘26 and ‘27 Packers first rounders… so this means Dallas has 4 first round picks in two drafts (2 in ‘26 and 2 ‘27)… talk about major negotiating factors for Dallas.

I am seeing a lot of hate towards Jerry Jones and making this deal online... which I think is just crazy. Having 4 first round picks in the next 2 seasons is MASSIVE. Why would you want a player playing for you if 1. He drains your CAP 2. Is injury Prone 3. Has a ME and not WE attitude?.
I can see why GB did the trade, as they are a playoff team, and maybe this gets them over the hump... but I dont think so. We shall see.
NFC is going to be loaded w good teams this season.

The good thing is, Arch isn't going to be the only option. Our 2 first rounders is still huge in obtaining our next QB.DelMar wrote: ↑August 28th, 2025, 2:59 pm Good grief… Dallas got both ‘26 and ‘27 Packers first rounders… so this means Dallas has 4 first round picks in two drafts (2 in ‘26 and 2 ‘27)… talk about major negotiating factors for Dallas.

Re: Maybe AD will come back now after the Parsons deal
In a perfect world, or when all the stars align, Cleveland decides they have their QB of the future in Gabriel or Sanders and look to trade down for more picks (hello LAR). Dallas thinks Prescott is a good QB and they use their two 1st rounders to build around him. Atlanta has a down year and finishes top 10 in the draft.DelMar wrote: ↑August 28th, 2025, 2:59 pm Good grief… Dallas got both ‘26 and ‘27 Packers first rounders… so this means Dallas has 4 first round picks in two drafts (2 in ‘26 and 2 ‘27)… talk about major negotiating factors for Dallas.

Great trade for Dallas is all I can say. He would be a cancer on the team anyways. GB is already good, and now have MO, and dallas will be building onto a solid team with all those picks (and not paying Parsons like he's a top 5 QB. Not good for Rams, but thats the NFL.

Re: Maybe AD will come back now after the Parsons deal
I like the compensation Dallas got plus they don't need to pay 48m per year, but the 2sts will be low firsts most likely mid 20s or worse. Kenny Clark had a down year last year but he's always all pro and great against the run so if he returns to form Dallas made out alright not my opinion great but not as bad as some publications are saying calling it a D+ no way. Getting off that much $ is good in itself and getting a really good player in an area of need plus two firsts I'D say B-.
What I don't like was Dallas trading an elite superstar in conference. He should have been traded to an AFC team. Just imagine if by chance the Cowboys make the playoffs and have to play GB. Not great for team moral they paid Dak and CeeDee why wouldn't you pay the best player of the three makes no sense. We'll see how the team responds this was a big move.

Re: Maybe AD will come back now after the Parsons deal
This is EXACTLY what I hear from some of my Cowboy friends. One friend said Parson's was toxic and that the locker room is happy now. I have not heard that from the press and realize it is from 1 fan. I am curious what most fans think about it. (Not curious enough to go check out Cowboy forums.)RAMFAN71 wrote: ↑August 29th, 2025, 5:29 am Great trade for Dallas is all I can say. He would be a cancer on the team anyways. Re: Maybe AD will come back now after the Parsons deal
What sucks is this now sets the bar for defensive studs. It was one thing paying a QB 40-50 per year, it now with this deal, and the Jefferson deal , DL and WR are now surpassing 40 per. Makes it even more critical the Rams hit on QB in the 26 draft.

Re: Maybe AD will come back now after the Parsons deal
Seems like the Parsons deal will create a shift in where money within a salary cap goes too:
It used to be the big money was at QB, LT, and CB.
Now it’s still at QB. But I think LT is being devalued and you don’t see CB as highly paid as it used to be either in relation to the cap,
The big money is now given to QBs, (Pass Rushing Defensive players), and WRs. That’s basically suggesting that the best WRs will be better value than the best CBs, and the best pass rushers will be better value than the best offensive tackles. Which makes sense bc you can move a pass rusher around the field do exploit a matchup.
I expect Verse to get mega bucks in his next deal
