Atwell and Corum :Wasted high picks ?
Rams current FO has provided a track record of using high draft picks they 1) over value 2) do not know how to utiliize when drafted and 3) over pay . I see a roster that is razor thin in key spots and trapped in CAP holes due to bad signings & extensions. Ram fan to the end BUT this 2025 squad could go sideways if MS / A J and shakey CB group all crap the bed. Using crucial cash on Atwell , drafting Corum with no planned role and QB / OT backups lacking have real consequences. One could add Troy Reeder & Coleman Shelton as players on this team that are just hard to justify being here. Here is hoping MS in ready and able to stand tall for the Rams in 2025.

For every bad pick they seem to make a hell of a lot of good ones... have to look at it as a whole not just individual picks... can never get every pick right and btw: jury still out on Corum.

Re: Atwell and Corum :Wasted high picks ?
2024: Verse, Fiske, n Corum. What was wrong with the first two picks? And we have already decided Corum is a wasted pick after one year?
2023: Avila, Young, n Turner. Am I missing something?
2022: Bruss(yep bad pick), Durant, Williams, n Lake. Durant is probably going to start at CB this year n the other two not bad mid round picks I would say.
2021: Atwell. Again talked to death but he catches almost everything thrown at him. Problem is, n most agree in here, you have to be on field more to produce more n when on field you have to have it thrown to you instead of the same 2 receivers all the time. Not his fault.
Yep the rest of that draft not good.
2020 not a good draft.
Still not that bad I’d say. And the Rams draft has been applauded nationally over the last few years.
Razor thin in key spots? So we are like every other team in NFL…………
Bad signings n extensions? Who with this current roster? And don’t say AD……….
Corum has “no planned role”. And we know this how?
So many complained about Limmer after the last game so we add depth in a “key spot” but it can’t be justified?
Sorry JMO not a good OP……….

Still a great country and you are entitled to your own opinion - I happen to disagree with you. There are always home runs and strike outs and I do not contend all FO actions are or were bad - simply noting there have been several critical misses that have had - and may have serious consequences in the future.

That puts the Rams with the rest of the NFL, or, for that matter, pretty much every team that ever drafted. The fact is, they go by what they see in a player. No way of telling how a player is going to apply himself after drafted.
With that said. If Corum becomes a solid #2 RB, then is is far from being a wasted pick. I just dont know how the selection of Blake Corum could have "serious consequences" for the future of the team. Please explain that one.

I’d like him to get more specific on everything he said. Actually breakdown my reply to his OP like I did.Ramsfan08ny wrote: ↑August 6th, 2025, 3:09 pmRonMac wrote: ↑August 6th, 2025, 2:08 pm Still a great country and you are entitled to your own opinion - I happen to disagree with you. Re: Atwell and Corum :Wasted high picks ?
The "AVERAGE" playing time for an nfl player is 3.3 years. That pretty much sums it up that there are plenty of players selected every year who dont cut it.

Why would anyone be down on Corum after one year in the NFL, particularly given the lack of opportunity thus far, his work ethic and personality traits.
