ILB

I think Landman will be a guy we come to love this year. The unsung hero. Big upgrade from Reeder.

I have been thinking the same thing '71. I have been seeing and reading a lot of positive news on him since he's been here, and I think this guy is going to be special. The dude was stuck in Atlanta... now he's with a contender. With the right coaches and players around him, I think he will have his best professional year, this season. He has a motor and is smart. Keep an eye on this fella.

Landman was an undrafted free agent who was originally born in Zimbabwe and signed with Atlanta in 2022. He saw spot duty on special teams as a rookie, but started 14 of Atlanta's 17 games in 2023 after Troy Anderson was put on injured reserve after a pectoral injury in week 3 against the Detroit Lions.

In 2023, Landman registered 110 tackles (66 solo, 44 assisted), two sacks and three forced fumbles. He was one of just three Falcons to register an interception during the 2023-2024 season, alongside Richie Grant (1) and Jessie Bates (6).

There was a time in 2023 when Landman was second in the NFC for Pro Bowl votes among linebackers. He unfortunately did not make the Pro Bowl that season. However, he did end up top 10 in voting for his position, a very impressive feat for an undrafted free agent.

Unfortunately, in 2024, Landman’s stats, like most players on the defense, took a step back. Landman played 13 of 17 games last season and recorded 81 tackles (39 solo, 42 assisted), zero sacks, zero interceptions and three forced fumbles. This past offseason Atlanta did not re-sign Landman. He instead signed a one-year $1,100,000 contract with a $75,000 signing bonus with the Los Angeles Rams. (Ummm, so who took over as coach in Atlanta in 2024? lol. This downturn I do not believe is Landmans fault imo)

Landman is a fun story, an undrafted free agent who was born in another country. He gave the Falcons all he could in 2023, and no one can doubt his motor on the field. Off the field, he is now starting a new life with his wife.

And the dude just got hitched. I personally like players that are married, because they now have a family to pay for. Therefore, guys work harder and want to make their spouses proud. I think we got Landman at the PERFECT time and at the PERFECT PRICE.

Went to the same high school for summer school in the East Bay Monte Vista-Alamo as this guy but I guarantee Dolec will be our #1 ILB……,just like I guaranteed Samantha would always suck, just like I predicted Jalen and his Boyz went out in South Beach for Halloween, got drunk then benched, (y’all notice I provided J’ and & his girls Halloween pic from instagram before “they” deleted “it”), just like I told y’all Jalen was not signing with us ( pull up my old post in this board if you don’t believe me). 🙂↕️

IDK, right now players are practicing in pajamas, you really don't know who is who until they put the pads on.

IMHO, the Rams last year prematurely, made their decision about linebacker based on the classroom, I'm not downplaying the importance of having someone smart back there. It's usually the guy with the green dot., however, you could clearly see that Speights had better physical skills than Reeder, I think this mistake is made far too often by the Rams coaching staff.

It seems like they don't get a good enough look at some of their rookies. I can list quite a few rookie linebackers throughout history that started right from the beginning. if Paul Jr or Dolac are the best players, i'd like to see them out there and coached up before game 7.

Wait and see for me. Obviously Morris is no dummy he knows what a defensive ILB should be and didn't think much of Landman to resign him especially at what the Rams got him for it was practically nothing for him hmm makes me wonder.

Conversely low impact cost for potential a lot of upside if nothing else with Landman and Poona our run d is better so I support the acquisition mostly based on $.

With the competition I think the ILB position will be better than it has been. Landman is tackling machine. Speights has the physical tools. Dolac has the IQ. Paul has loads of potential. But with all that it will probably be Reeder starting. :?

I am really rooting for Dolac no idea why teams didn't bite on him on draft day. He lead the nation in Tackles. had 5.5 sacks couple ints really what is there not to like? Am I missing something why because he went to U of Buff so what - so did a possible HOFer OLB Klihil Mack. Jerry Rice went to Miss. Valley State it's the player not where you came from.
