The PERFECT trade package for Jalen Ramsey - NOT!
An article this morning out of Clutch Points thinks their proposal is perfect for Rams. Maybe Miami definitely not the Rams. Does any writer know anything about football or is it for clicks? Either way this package proposed today for Ramsey was extremely absurd and if Les did it I would be extremely pissed off.
Today a Perfect trade proposal hit my feed - trade Ramsey to the Rams for Durant a third and fourth round pick plus maybe something else. Inherit his 24m salary on top of the assets.
Ton of things here first we don't have a fourth so great researching. Secondly we got a third round pick and a 2 catch career TE to get rid of Ramsey when he was in his prime at 27. He is 30 years now and declining. By giving Durant we weaken the CB room by not having that extra depth. Most of all the salary is 24m for Ramsey - who wants a declining CB who is still top third may top quarter of the league for all that money.
My take is a poster put a list of available/potentially available CBs last week and I would be way fine with one of those. Most are FAs and will cost a fraction of Ramsey. That package proposed imo should be for a trade for a very young ascending CB that is top 15.
Why would a team pay a descending player 24m not happening. I would offer 10m and the fins eat the rest and a 7th rounder. Personally I would rather have Alexander and his injury concerns for 7m less. I would rather have Assante Samuel Jr with a neck injury concerns way less zero compensation. He still would be as good or better than what we have. Ramsey is not way better and worth it he just wants to be paid and could care less who gets him as long as he is paid. He doesn't care about the Rams. He is the past we all need to stop glorifying him as if he is still 27 because he is not and his contract is sure not worth it.

Here is the bigger question. Who gives a bleep what clutch points thinks. They advertise themselves as created by fans for fans.
Let me know when Schefter or Rapapport say something……….

The issue for me is their supposed to be reporters and reporters are supposed to do research which they didn't even do. Super sloppy this new media has many benefits but definitely some drawbacks

Clutchpoints makes cool graphics. Ai will replace their cool pics soon enough - LOL
The writers write just to write. For clicks, kicks and advertising revenue. This proposed trade is preposterous.
As for Ramsey… my gut tells me it’s already a done deal for much less than this article lays out.The Rams are just waiting until after June 1st for cap reasons.
I am not a fan of this potential deal. But, I sincerely think McVay has a serious man crush and he will get what he wants.

Inheriting the 24 million salary would be a deal breaker by itself for me.

Re: The PERFECT trade package for Jalen Ramsey - NOT!
We got a 3rd from Miami and he's 2 years older and more expensive so no way it's a three. We don't have a 4th so it's not a 4th.
That leaves a 5th and if it's after June 1st he won't be as expensive for 2025. That being said, we have to do something about the remainder of his guaranteed contract that Miami was dumb enough to give him. We can't take on 2 more guaranteed years at 24 mil or whatever it is. Gotta have an out without a lot of dead money.
If we can make it a more favorable deal for us I'd love to see Ramsey back in LA with our D that already has a lot of swagger.

Re: The PERFECT trade package for Jalen Ramsey - NOT!
I have been reading a lot of negative stuff with regards to Jalen returning...and most of it is warranted. I have a slightly different take
1) JR is better than any DB currently on the roster, even if he has slowed just a touch
2) JR is a head case and even worse when he isn't happy (Miami) but he shown he loves McV and would welcome his escape from Miami making him a rejuvenated Ramsey...and a rejuvenated Ramsey is a force
3) Of course, what the Rams give up to get him will come into play...certainly don't want to give the fsrm away with regards to picks
4) Last of all cost...I, nor anyone of our armchair GM's (myself included) are capologists...the Rams have a damn good one in Pastoors and if he syays he's got it covered then that's good enough for me.

Sandbagger great points. The issue st CB has to be addressed one way or another.sanbagger wrote: ↑May 26th, 2025, 7:22 am I have been reading a lot of negative stuff with regards to Jalen returning...and most of it is warranted. I have a slightly different take

Re: The PERFECT trade package for Jalen Ramsey - NOT!
I'm wondering if they think there was enough improvement down the stretch last year to go with what they have. The run defense let them down in Philly. Before that they were playing lights out defense overall. That included the questionable secondary. I'm sure they'd consider Ramsey if the compensation was reasonable. But I'm thinking it will be too much between what they have to give up in draft value and the money it would take.
