Rams Tutu Atwell – A Greater Role In 2025?
Chatarius “Tutu” Atwell, the Rams’ speedy wide receiver, has been a topic of intrigue since being selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Known for his blazing 4.35-second 40-yard dash and explosive playmaking ability, Atwell has shown flashes of brilliance but has yet to cement himself as a consistent, every-down player in the NFL. As he enters his fifth season with the Rams in 2025, following a one-year, $10 million contract extension, the question looms: Can Atwell evolve into a reliable, full-time contributor in Sean McVay’s offense? As we have heard before, McVay has said he plans to involve Atwell in the offense much more heading into the 2025 season.

I am a huge fan of Atwell. He has great hands, doesn't complain (at least publicly), and does what is asked of him.

Huge fan of Tu2 here also. With Puka/ Adams, and if the TE is used much more, it could really open things up for a lot for Atwell.

The way Staff targets Puka and the targets Adams will demand just by who he is, not gonna leave a whole lot for Atwell, especially if Whittington improves and the Rams actually decide to target a TE on a regular basis. If he's lucky he gets 3-5 targets a game. You know Puka will get 10+ as will Adams. If we commit to a running game, not a whole lot leftRamsfan08ny wrote: ↑May 4th, 2025, 1:17 pmHuge fan of Tu2 here also. I've never known whether its by design i.e. McVay or Stafford but it feels more like Stafford keying in on one player and forgetting the others exist.
Doesn't bode well for Tutu unless Stafford becomes his best mate.

One part of his role rarely discussed is MS may not feel comfortable throwing to a Player with a Very Small catch radius - just common reaction to look elsewhere. He is a very small man by NFL standards & it also speaks to his inability to block in the run game.

3-5 targets per game for him would be nice, especially if at least one of them is a deep ball.GoldenRam wrote: ↑May 4th, 2025, 8:26 pmThe way Staff targets Puka and the targets Adams will demand just by who he is, not gonna leave a whole lot for Atwell, especially if Whittington improves and the Rams actually decide to target a TE on a regular basis. Need consistency in pass pro and run game to open the playbook and let Stafford be in control - he sees Tutu streaking toward the endzone and he's launching the ball. Last year we saw too much of Stafford being rushed. Lets hope we see more of the offense we saw vs. Buffalo.
