Bottom post of the previous page:
Corum was not given much of a chance to play last year so not sure how people are saying he didn't do much. Let it be said I didn't like the pick when it happened and guess what as of today I was right. If they loved him they would not have drafted HunterPlease Login or Become a VIP Member to Remove Advertisment

In this draftNorCal RF wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 1:19 pm I wish upland could post what was said immediately after the playoff lost to Philly in here………
Many were saying we need a take it to the house RB and we need to improve the TE position. They did exactly that within their first 3 picks. After getting what they did from Atlanta in day one. And some are still not happy. Trading pick 26 changed this draft but they still got touted players in day 2 n 3. Now we wait.
And Chris Paul JR was a solid pick also. Very high % rate in made tackles. What we have been screaming for. Sure others before him were higher rated but Paul is a good football player in regards to his college career.
OL? I said I thought they may be happy as is. CB same.
Rams got a 2026 1st round pick (which is outstanding)
Rams needed to improve the trenches, the Eagles exposed them. I believe with Ford and Ty the Rams added alot of strength up front.
Rams needed to get a coverage ILB, which they did.
Rams needed a change of pace back and Hunter fits the bill. 2nd most explosive back in the draft.
Higbee is in the last year of his deal, so getting a TE with starting potential is fine.
Rams needed a guy to replace Hoecht, which they got in Stewart.
Rams still need a swing tackle. Hopefully the Rams have a vet swing tackle in mind.
Would have like for the Rams to get another cb, but the rams clearly like the young corners they have. As reported by Ian, Rams are still in the running for Ramsey.

Re: WTF are the Rams doing this draft?
What it seems to boil down to is a consensus wanted them to follow their board, as long as its a position I wanted.Bulldawg wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 12:27 pmWell said. I didn't like the trade but it happened. Next year will be much more interesting. I am happy with who they have drafted. I personally would have done it a little different, but they know more than me and I trust them.Ramsfan08ny wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 10:58 am So, for weeks leading up to the draft, the concensus here was that the Rams need to follow their board. Apparently doing just that. Do we trust them or not?
We almost wanted a LB or CB who could improve the defense. What do you do if you look at the players available, and say, "this guy isn't as good as the guy we've got now"? Do you draft him, just because fans want a LB? Or CB?
Drafting the position of need doesn't make you better, unless the player is better.
I agree that they can't commit top RB money to KW. This might be the reason for this pick.
In all honesty, I think the trade of #26 threw a wrench in everything. Lost 20 slots in that move, and lost a 3rd rounder. If you like that trade, you gotta bite the bullet and reap the rewards next year, but it obviously greatly impacted this year's quality of picks.
Hey I was surprised as anyone when they drafted a RB, but what the hell do I know, and what was the talent level of the DBs and LBs when the RB was drafted? I'm not smart enough to know that.
I'm a minority, because I wasn't thrilled with the exchange involved in the 26th pick , but again, what do I know. Only they know their plan and it's seemed to work for more than a few years.

1. to get excited about a 5th round pick, Paul, is delusional.....I know you love that word. reason he lasted that long IMO. I am not saying he isn't good but let's keep it real
2. Hunter.....they must have loved him a lot to make that trade. IMO RB was not a huge need. KW is a freakin stud and they haven't even given Corum a chance yet so now that puts Corum on the bench more.
3. Ferguson...like the pick...now let's hope they actually throw to a TE
4. This team needs a ton of help at the LB position and IMO they barely addressed it. Why?
5. I like the ATL trade but I can't lie I am bummed because we could have had Starks or Hairston.
6. OL....you and I are going to agree to disagree. Injuries then what???
again in McSnead we trust but I still have no issues making observations on their picks.
Neither of us or no one else knows what Paul will be. But he was damn good in College period.
I again laugh, not saying you, have said we need a home run RB and once we get one………. And so many have said don’t pay a RB top $$$$, which I agree, so they go out n draft one to put them in a position to not over pay Kyren but again……..
The trade was potentially a phenomenal trade for this team. Way more damn Important than a Starks etc considering the age of our current QB.
OL depth is a concern agree. Can’t address everything.

agree on a lot of your pts. You may be right about them not extending KW's contract and maybe the Hunter pick is just that, insurance. I don't understand the narrative about getting a HR back. KW has been a complete stud for us and he has produced more than I ever thought he could. Don't think we have given Corum a shot yet either. I do think Paul was solid in college but why fall that far if he is that good??? that worries me. Very worried about not getting depth on the OL. I do like our depth on the DL. Going to bring it this yearNorCal RF wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 1:57 pmFirst I really get tired of the narrative I never criticize this team. Again were any of you here during the Fisher era. Can't say shit until a couple years from now. Will see then if it was a good draft. I questioned almost every pick as opposed to last year. But I'm just a fan. Will see. More I read, the more I understand the picks. But it all comes to truth on the field. Period.

Re: WTF are the Rams doing this draft?
Big difference where they were picking last year. By the end of round three they had a mini van full of players. Very few picks in the top half of the draft this year yet everyone was expecting similar results as last year.RAMFAN71 wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 2:26 pm Can't say shit until a couple years from now. Totally legit to question this draft (Falcons next year's #1 hits it out of the park for me right off the bat), but these LB's and corners fans are calling for....
Well there's a reason these guys dropped to the 2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds etc.. And besides, the proof is down the road. If you just went with mocks, Shedeur Sanders would have been picked a looooong time ago. Teams have their own ideas...
I have learned to expect the unexpected w the Rams. I did not think we would grab a RB till late, late rounds... but here we are. I also do not think ANYONE in here had us picking a TE w our first pic... but we did. McSnead have a plan... we just need to let it all play out. Shoot, this season is just getting started..
Also, lets not forget how many LB and DB will get cut, and not because they aren't good enough... some teams just have either too many guys for the one spot OR they have more pressing needs they need to address, so I am absolutely confident we will address these spots when we get closer to summer...

Improving TE position is fine if you are getting a Brock Bowers. Not a guy of Ferguson’s level.NorCal RF wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 1:19 pm I wish upland could post what was said immediately after the playoff lost to Philly in here………

What’s the most valuable positions on a football team or where can the Rams improve their current starters? We didn’t do either of those things.
It’s never been said “if the Rams just had a better player than Higbee at TE or Ronnie Rivers at 3rd RB”it’d take us to the promised land. It has been said if out starting OTs go down, we are screwed. And that Reeder stinks. To not prioritize those positions is assinine.
We aren’t any better after this draft.

Re: WTF are the Rams doing this draft?
Because selecting at #46 should get you Brock Bowers? Because Bowers won a Super Bowl last year?...oh wait it was the Eagles - I guess TE isn't the only position on a team. But whatever, Ferguson is a fucking stud. I've watched every play he's ever made (probably 3 or 4 times as I record every Duck game), and a lot of it in person.Truth wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 2:56 pmImproving TE position is fine if you are getting a Brock Bowers. Rams D-line is an absolute growing monster, and it just got scarier. Got our ILB too.
You draft who's available, or trade up (or down) to make it work. The Rams have been as impressive as any team in the League these last drafts, but sure, whine about this draft now regardless without having a clue how it will turn out.
We're better after this draft, but whatever, obviously attempt to remember our biggest selection will likely be the Falcons 1st rounder next year from the trade.

I’m not sure how much you watched Oregon football. I have quite a bit n Ferguson IMO is going to be this teams starter by 26 and be better than any TE we have had in a while.

I am not sure at what time this was written but they absolutely addressed the run defense in later rounds.malibu wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 10:35 am3rd to 4th on the depth chart is NOT improving the skill positions period he will not get any carries compared to Kyren or Corum so how is that improving anything especially if he sits on the bench?
We added Ferguson I don't agree with the pick but Les and scouts know more so I will assume that was an upgrade at the skill positions. We don't need any QB, nor WR we have 2 starter quality RBs and TEs now so what else needs to be upgraded?
Last I checked we lost the Philly championship game on super pourous defense with long breakaway runs culminating in TDs. Maybe that is what we need to concentrate on ya think?! Offense was bad at the first half of the season due to injuries this season barring injuries and adding Devante. Ferguson we will be better. We need defense upgrades and we only got a backup OLB which we needed and Ford a great pickup at DT/NT.

You WILL like Josaiah Stewart! He led the Wolverines (very talented defense) in sacks with 8.5 and in tackles for loss with 13.5.
He will be much better than Hoecht.

That's odd...last I checked we lost the Philly championship game because K. Williams fumbled.

Also running backs get hurt a lot. So being 3 deep with Williams, Corum and Hunter doesn't hurt. Williams missed mutiple games in 2023 and Corum broke his arm the one start he had last year.Cornell29 wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 1:38 pmRams needed a change of pace back and Hunter fits the bill. 2nd most explosive back in the draft.NorCal RF wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 1:19 pm I wish upland could post what was said immediately after the playoff lost to Philly in here………

Both Higbee and Parkinson are gone after next year. Higbee will be a FA and Parkison will probably be cut to save cap space. Rams had one of the least productive TE groups in the league last year though that was partially because of HIgbee missing time. That would have left the the Rams with only Davis before taking Ferguson.Higbee is in the last year of his deal, so getting a TE with starting potential is fine.
Don't mind Stewart but what does that say about Nick Hampton and Brennan Jackson. One or the other looks like they will lose their place on the roster unless Jackson can make the move to Defensive end at 260+ pounds. Rams could still use some depth there. They currently have Turner, Fiske and Ford as starters with Davis and Hamilton as backups.Rams needed a guy to replace Hoecht, which they got in Stewart.

I'm not sure why we didn't draft a CB. We need two. But we finally picked an ILB with Chris Paul Jr. We will see how good he is.

You can never have enough pass rushers. Stewart will be jack of all trades. Even good on Special Teams.mburns wrote: ↑April 26th, 2025, 6:36 pmAlso running backs get hurt a lot. So being 3 deep with Williams, Corum and Hunter doesn't hurt. Williams missed mutiple games in 2023 and Corum broke his arm the one start he had last year.
Would have like for the Rams to get another cb, but the rams clearly like the young corners they have. As reported by Ian, Rams are still in the running for Ramsey.

I think the question answers itself. Those guys are down a notch behind Stewart. They were both 5th round picks but haven't had a lot of opportunity that WE have seen, but we're not the coaches.

Re: WTF are the Rams doing this draft?
The most baffling thing I'm reading here are fans saying "we didn't improve during the draft". The Rams had 3 picks between 46 and 130, what guarantees do you expect to get in that range?
The other comment "we needed CBs and didn't draft any". Even if you need CBs, you don't automatically get better by throwing darts at a board and selecting guys who the coaches don't think are an improvement. Do you want a good example? Look at the Browns. They need a QB, so they went out and put 5 of them on their roster. I guess that means that they fixed the problem at that position?
Fine if you dislike the players selected, but do you really think you know more about these prospects than a staff that's been to 2 SBs in the last handful of years? Do you even know their plan? They have a staff that studies players and film around the clock. We read mock drafts.

Yes a few in here do. After all these years in here you just have to laugh. Somewhat entertaining……………

Re: WTF are the Rams doing this draft?
Getting the 2026 First Round pick from the Falcons was huge. Snead and the Rams were really high on the Oregon TE. Drafting him @ 46 may have been a few picks early but he’s not on the board @91. Rams get a big target who was the fastest TE at the combine from a top caliber college team who produced really good numbers against good competition.
2nd round pick was a BPA type at a valued position (Edge) in today’s NFL You need quality depth to be able to keep your pass rush fresh and to utilize blitz packages. Team captain at Michigan with a polished rush approaches that could possibly play LB on 3rd downs.
RB from Auburn was a productive player in the SEC. Not sure if this means that Kyren is going to move on after this season or not but it seems like RB is a position that the Rams aren’t going to be investing a 2nd contract in anymore since the TG III extension fiasco. I don’t think it’s something that impacts Corrum other than providing him more competition. Rams were in a position where if one of their top 2 running backs go down they were limited in depth. Corrum being injured and unavailable left them short handed against Philly.
The DT from OSU could be a diamond in the rough in my opinion. Ohio State players talked about how much Hamilton did that created opportunities for others to excel. He did a lot of the dirty work that goes unnoticed like taking away gaps in the run game. Good rotational help that keeps players fresh and a position that is vital when you’re trying to slow down the Players like Barkley. Rams seem to draft a DT every year and have rarely extended this position outside of AD recently.
Chris Paul looks like an excellent addition at LB a little undersized but has a lot of speed and instincts that could make him very effective in this defense.
Don’t know much about the WR late. Not a big name but supposedly a good route runner with decent hands and some Special Teams skills.
Overall this was a strange draft with not much depth. The OT positions were pretty much gone in the first round and you could tell it wasn’t just the Rams not drafting OT after the early part of the second round. Teams like Seattle, SF and Houston that all had needs didn’t touch the offensive line positions until really late.
It’s way too early to evaluate this draft because the Rams were in a position where there’s not a lot of glaring holes on this team and they were not going to have double digit new players making the team like they have had lately. Rams have a very talented team. I still think they will be addressing some positions in the second phase of free agency.
Rams didn’t address the QB position and it was apparent that this draft wasn’t a franchise QB type draft. The Rams got valuable draft capital in 2026 that could make a huge difference in their realistic ability to find a successor to Stafford in next year’s draft which on paper looks much stronger. Having the extra picks gives them an extra chip on the table and an actual pathway to find a franchise QB without having to suffer through a lost season.
I do trust Snead to fill out the roster and McVay to coach this team up and have them ready for his 9 th season as the Rams Head Coach.
