It's Masters Week... ⛳️🏌
Ok, it's the off season, and if Upland wants to move this to off topic, I have no issues w that. But I know there are some golf fans in here that like to discuss the Super Bowl of Golf. So lets live'n up the forum...

Weather looks to be perfect this wkend in Augusta...at about 72° w very slight chances of drizzle in the morning, but sun in the afternoon.
Here is the betting favorites: (Who you got and why?)

Re: It's Masters Week... ⛳️🏌
something in me thinks Scottie S is going to take it again this year. But then again you can never count out Rahm or Morikawa.
I am seeing a lot of money going towards Rory, but this course is not built for his game, so those bets are a bit perplexing. He has always struggles at Augusta to win it, but he's also been in contention... in his 16 appearances at Augusta National, with a best finish is 2nd in 2022, then has also had 7 top-10 finishes.

Re: It's Masters Week... ⛳️🏌
I think it's hard for the LIV guys because they don't really play competitive tournament golf anymore. Granted rahm and bryson are different. Scottie is always dangerous. I do like this Lee kid out of Australia. Agree with you on Rory plus he can't putt so I don't think he win. Aberg could pull it together. Morikawa likes this course so he will be dangerous too. Just hope the weather holds outDelMar wrote: ↑April 7th, 2025, 10:45 amsomething in me thinks Scottie S is going to take it again this year. But then again you can never count out Rahm or Morikawa.

Friday am is the only real potential weather issue, but its over ngt drizzle. Which mean the greens will be soft on Friday, so more putts going in.
But by Sunday, it supposed to be perfect and I expect the greens to be like glass. Where the guys that struggle in putting, will really be struggling on Sunday.
There is just something very different (and difficult) about the greens at Augusta. No other place like them.

One of my close friends who resides not far from Augusts has gone 10 times. His son is an assistant head grounds keeper at Augusta. We got to talking just about this. If you want to see why or how people get thrown out or not even let again to begin with... these the rules and NOT one moves a smidge... They put up w absolutely no nonsense there. Great time of year. Final 4, then the Masters, then cap it off with the draft.

I have put my name on the waiting list for decades... and the second I get an invite, I will be there. Dont even care the charge. One of my pals, who has put his name in for over 25 years FINALLY got the invite 3 years ago... He was so stoked, plane tickets, hotel, everything secured $10k later... (was just him) and he got really sick and couldn't make it. He was not allowed to sell his ticket, but they did refund him. Not so lucky w hotel and fits, I think they gave him some off, but was out maybe $5k I think. The best part is, we love to give him constant zingers to this day on it... he says the worst time of the year is this wkend, as it brings back awful memories.
The crazy part, my friend who's son is a grounds keeper, can ONLY let immediate family in, and its limited to one I think. So, the minute I can change my last name to theirs, im going!

Nobody is playing particularly well at the moment, so it could be anybody.
But I'm going to go with Fleetwood or Zalatoris. These guys tend to hang around, and I think one of them could put together 4 good rounds. Yeah, I suppose you could say that about anybody, but I'm going with one of these guys.

Re: It's Masters Week... ⛳️🏌
I have been about 5-6 times. It is absolutely amazing, even if you don't like golf.
If it is your first time, I would highly recommend going during the practice rounds. Crowds are smaller, players are more interactive with the crowd, and it is more of a casual experience.
I actually ate lunch with Tito's (the vodka) in-laws one time. We shared a stand-up table with this elderly lady wearing a Titos shirt. Her husband came back from restroom with a Tito's shirt...I mentioned that I knew about Tito's vodka because a friend of mine had to make a stop at a specific liquor store one time to get it. (This was before Tito's was in every store.) She told me how the company started...a couple people in a basement...and now the college education for her grand children was set. Haha...they actually sent me a signed Tito's shirt and hat a couple weeks later.

Bryson screwed up a few holes with that high, hooking 7 iron. He should never make anything but birdie on those par 5s. Definitely going to be a fun round. Can't imagine Rory or Bryson will speak to each other until they remove their hats on 18.

Re: It's Masters Week... ⛳️🏌
one of the best Masters ever IMO. couple of takes from Sunday
* can't believe how uncomfortable Rory looked on the putting green
* surprised how poorly Bryson player
* what an unbelievable week for Justin Rose. Such a class act. Happy for him
* have become a huge fan of Ludvid Aberg. Think he has the sweetest swing on tour
* very happy for Rory. Finally got the monkey off his back. Still hate him during Ryder's Cup but happy for him
* how funny was the story of the ASU Amateur who pissed off of Ray's creek?
