I remember watching playoff games in Jacksonville and Charlotte a few years after these teams were expansion teams they had a hometown fan base,
They didn’t have an iconic history dating back to the 40s with dozens of Hall of Famer’s they didn’t have the second most populous city in the United States they didn’t have a Super Bowl championship
Decades of dominance
4 years after the Rams relocated a Super Bowl bound GSOT was all blue and gold at the EJD, making 3rd down impossible.
I get It the Rams left LA for 20 years, I didn’t complain in 2018 when we went to the Super Bowl and still had a 50-50 fan split in the coliseum
for most of our games.
But at what point do we stop making excuses for the LA fans
Over the last five years the Rams are one of the top three teams in the NFL
There’s no question that they made more of an effort to win now than any other team in the league
They have stars all over the place
They have the most modern, best stadium in the NFL
They have a huge population with plenty of disposable income
Buying a season ticket package is not cheap I can’t imagine that 65,000 people are down to the last couple of hundred bucks so that this is such a financial windfall for them to scalp yo Niner fans
I live in New York I took my son to one game this Season at great expense, flights, hotel, dinners, tickets, Ubers
Enough already LA show the fukkkkkk up
I have been quiet about this issue because I know I am still a bit hurt from the move. My intent with this post is to give as objective of a take as I possibly can. I understand money enough to understand that it was a great business move, and that the Dome in STL wasn’t up to lease agreement, and that this team belonged to LA first. All facts, but we were loyal to this team. And showed up for this team. My family had season tickets from 1997 until the day they left for LA. Yes even during the really really bad years we were there.
A lot of LA people take unnecessary shots at STL every chance they get ( which baffles me. I mean you got the team bro. Why kick the guy/city when you won the girl). But LA needs to be held accountable for this embarrassment to our entire fan base. If this team was in STL there’s NO way this would happen. And we know they aren’t coming back yet still a fact.
Go to YouTube and re-watch the STL home playoff games. I just did last week, and brought back great memories of losing my voice in that Dome That place was crazy with blue and gold and screaming fans. And you better believe the Cardinals (11championships) and blues ran our town. Had nothing to do with the support of the Rams. So I don’t buy the Lakers Dodgers argument. That’s weak. Fact is if the Rams aren’t getting the support from LA now they never will.

Blues don’t run ST LOUIS … CARDS do … and you can’t really compare city like St. Louis to LA …. Never been to St. Louis but I have friends who said it’s filled with right wing football loving racists …even cards fans are kinda F up …

Re: 65:/35 49er Fans Sunday
Well I’ve lived here for 30 of my 41 years of life and held season tickets to Rams and Cards even while living in DC, so I think I’m a bit more qualified to speak on my city then you are but you’re entitled to your opinion. And yes the The Cards AND Blues run our town and did when the Rams arrived. Lol what does political affiliation have to do with anything? And be clear there is NO comparison LA>STL. That’s not the point here. We are talking about Fan support STL>LA fan support.

Re: 65:/35 49er Fans Sunday
We agree a lot oc but not here. If 60-29, one of best HC’s in the league, and a organization that does whatever it takes to win see Stafford, Miller, Ramsey OBJ, etc, isn’t enough to get the fans to support this team then winning a SB isn’t either…………ocram23 wrote: ↑January 28th, 2022, 8:51 amunfortunately I agree. This is definitely a Lakers and Dodgers town. It is going to take some time and WINNING A SB to get loyal fans into SoFi. Niner Nation is large and very loyal due to their success. Ram fans are going to have to realize this weekend is going to be a sea of Red and the only way to shut their asses up is get an early lead and take them out of the game.
All winning a SB is going to do is create the excuse “well they won one and then raised ticket prices so this is why no one is going”……………
It’s a damn poor declaration by the LA sports fan. Damn poor…………..

Of course Cali is 403,882sq. And Missouri is 178,414. It’s not even close so of course you have more minorities you also have more stop lights what’s the point?

30 year drought LMAO Mike…………..BrooklynRam74 wrote: ↑January 28th, 2022, 9:07 am
Oh. So a 30 year drought is "ok" then to the exquisite L.A. fan? Such nuance and intelligence the Los Angeles fan exhibits. The Rams won (in L.A.) in '51. So 70 years is too long a drought, 30 years is not. Got it. We'll FIND that magic number yet. Seriously, PBS should do a Documentary of the Los Angeles sports fan, the most intelligent and cunning and selective in the entire United States.
But hey there is no comparison because well they have won 6 championships……..
It’s amazing how a few of us can see right through their BS……………..

Playoffs are different than Regular Season.
We played America's Team the Dallas freakin Cowboys in 2018 Playoffs and had a 70/30 EDGE.
Ram Fams will outnumber Niner fans easily Sunday.

Yes, we love our Rams, but please, you cannot compare these franchises. The Niner fan base was augmented by 5 super bowl titles in their heyday too. There's a reason there's a ton of Niner fans everywhere.

I absolutely hated that St. Louis got the Rams. They did not IMO deserve to get the Rams. The Rams came back home in 2016 where they belonged. That being said…………STL Woody wrote: ↑January 28th, 2022, 9:26 amExcellent post!!!! 100% Spot on.therealheadslap75 wrote: ↑January 28th, 2022, 7:54 am Toast you know I’m a big fan of your typically rock solid on point posts as far as this issue goes, I agree with the reality that We don’t have a big dedicated Fanbase I think the original poster was asking why the f***ck not?

The St. Louis fan base flat out 100% supported the Rams like no other fan base supported their home team in the league. And this is yes after they had already lost a NFL team. They didn’t use that as an excuse to not 100% support the Rams…………
I always respected and appreciated from a far how St. Louis supported our Rams. No damn excuses with them……………

Also it was a brilliant business decision. Great venue, Super Bowls, College football playoffs, Olympics. Plus franchise valuation sky rocketed. The investment will pay for itself in spades even if 100% of the fans were for the opposing team.
