Troy Reeder with green dot
Is it a coincidence that our best defensive game of the year came with Reeder calling the defensive plays? Honestly I don't know if he makes changes on his own but he was bouncing all over the place pre snap talking to guys. Might be nothing, might be something. I like Jones alot and I really like Howard. Reeder would be the guy I would take snaps away from if Jones is healthy enough to play but I do wonder if there is anything to Reeder calling the defense that added to that performance Monday Night.

Reeder is just not good when they go at him. Just not the guy.

When Jones get healthy Howard and EJ will start. Jones replaces Reeder and Howard is the coverage ILB who replaced Kenny Young.
Reeder should be used for depth and in certain situations as a blitzer

Re: Troy Reeder with green dot
Neither is Eric Weddle... we saw that in his last full season. But it does count for something if you are able to get everyone lined up and in sync with assignments once the offense is revealed.. And we saw that failure repeatedly once Fuller went down in the SFO game. Still in my mind the number one reason why that game went into overtime and the Rams eventually lost. Yes Reeder and Weddle are limited in what they can do once the ball is snapped. But if you have nine other guys lined up correctly and in sync, that go's a long way in having a successful stop on defense because it changes what the QB does versus what's called.. Thus the limitations are a lot more masked.

Maybe it’s also because the 49ers are much better than the Cards at football??
