Kupp's season
With the lead in so many areas, the most surprising to me would be 40+ yard receptions and
YAC. Normally would associate both those areas with burners, or possibly TE' in the Gronk, George Kittle mold that can just bury a tackler and keep on truckin

Re: Kupp's season
Very well put. Kupp is a Class Act to the highest degree. Nice to see someone like that have such a successful season. Hope he does make it to Canton some day!

Re: Kupp's season
He’s making a serious run for OPOY, some are saying they won’t vote for him for MVP, but he’s having a great a year as anyone.
Clouding his stellar year with HOF nonsense just shows people don’t understand the difference.

I definitely see it as a "Hall of fame" type season...I mean, how else can it be looked at?

Re: Kupp's season
It is ironic that if Kupp breaks the yardage record then Stafford will be the QB for #1 and #2. Kupp is an awesome receiver but wouldn't have the recognition without Stafford in my opinion. (His past 4 years have not been overly impressive.) I absolutely love that he is just a football player. He blocks, runs, and lines up in every position. The biggest thing is that he is not a Diva. Reminds of of Calvin Johnson from that perspective. Just goes out and works is butt off. Glad to see him finally getting the acknowledgement. Extremely happy for the dude.

Re: Kupp's season
I don’t think he comes close to the yardage record and that’s a good thing. Rams have bigger goals. I’d rather see them getting more people involved in the offense down the stretch and continue to develop their run game. Kupp s health is key to a Super Bowl run. Personal records are nice but they don’t always translate to team success. The year Johnson set the record the Lions were 4-12 and closed the season with 8 straight losses. That kind of diminishes that record.Bulldawg wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2021, 11:24 am It is ironic that if Kupp breaks the yardage record then Stafford will be the QB for #1 and #2. Re: Kupp's season
Didn't want to throw another thread out there, but this dudes season is ridiculous.
He is number 1 in virtually *every* category. Receptions, yds, 20+ yd receptions, 40+ yards receptions, first down receptions. Dude has turned into a stud this year, and he's either grown small wings on his feet or he just mesmerizes cb's

231 yards in 2 games is a long shot. Then there's a '*' for it being a 17 game season as opposed to the 16 game season played from the other record holders.

Re: Kupp's season
Says here the Ravens Pass D ranks 32nd in Average Yards a Game allowed, almost a full 10 YG more then 31st ranked Seattle..
And 32nd in total Pass Yards allowed by 100+ yards... again over the Hags..
Where are you getting the 25th ranking from..

Well, that's not the way in which official NFL records are established though, there is no '*' regardless of the length of the regular season.UK Rams Fan wrote: ↑December 27th, 2021, 9:59 am

Whether or not Cooper Kupp actually breaks the single-season receiving-yardage record, he will still have enjoyed an outstanding year for our team, won't he?
The expansion of the NFL season to 17 games means that various single-season records are much more likely to end up being broken in the fairly near future.
I'm hardly all that thrilled by this 17-game concept myself, however "It's all about the Benjamins," isn't it...??

Re: Kupp's season
I getcha.. A couple of active RB's have come mightily close to Dickerson's single-season rushing yards record over the 16 game format. Henry was looking like he could've been in with a good chance of it before his injury this season. Taylor is way off unless he runs up and down the field of play 5 times in two games.Commish wrote: ↑December 28th, 2021, 10:33 pmWell, that's not the way in which official NFL records are established though, there is no '*' regardless of the length of the regular season.UK Rams Fan wrote: ↑December 27th, 2021, 9:59 am

I guess with another game introduced it does make it that bit harder for players to remain healthy & fresh for the entire season. These top tier records appear only breakable if you're able to stay the course without missing game time and of course, COVID has played its part these past two seasons.

Re: Kupp's season
If Cooper Kupp breaks the Rams receiving record against the Ravens, then that will do for me. And there would be no need for asterisks as it was done in 16 games.
We have to be careful not to diminish his efforts this year based on the addition of one game to the schedule. It has been a phenomenal effort.

Here's the state of play...
There is a potential of 2 records to be broken here..
-Rec Yds (1,964) Currently held by Megatron from his 2012 season with the Lions
-Receptions (149) Currently held by Michael Thomas from his 2019 season with the Saints
The one record that looks like is well beyond Coop this season is..
- Rec TD's (23) currently held by Randy Moss from his 2007 Season with the Patriots.
Matt needs to feed Coop a ton over the next two games.
Go Rams

Re: Kupp's season
The extra Game on the sked, wasn't needed to set records for 100+ yard games which I believe is at 10, and 14 out of 15 games he has managed 90+ yards a game...
He didn't even need 16 games to accomplish those. hmmm
How are the nit pickers going to spin this?
