Will McVay sit Kupp last game IF ......
He's closing in on the record of receptions, TD's or yardage? Thus does he keep Stafford out there to help out!! Might be an interesting decision!! Time will tell!! Go Rams!!! Big win today!!!

Cooper himself has said on numerous occasions when broached about records/stats that team goals would always come before that stuff..
So of playing everyone to help HIM set records or getting them all extra rest/preparation in for the playoffs, I'd say the latter sounds more team oriented?

I'm sure McV would love to knock the Niners out of the playoffs and help get a little monkey off his back....but if it does not make sense and the game is meaningless to the Rams I could see Kupp getting a few reps then sitting.
With the Covid issues they have dealt with the last few weeks the Rams team as whole is pretty rested but they just would kick themselves if they let Kupp run around in a meaningless game and he sustained an injury that kept him out of the playoffs.

Absolutely no sense in resting starters when there's an implication to seeding.
I've seen lots of teams rest key players then come out flat in the next 'meaningful' game. We are gaining momentum, don't jeopardise that.
Injuries can and do happen, but you can't be scared of them IMO.

Nobody but you said that. Here you go again putting words in peoples mouths....BrooklynRam74 wrote: ↑December 27th, 2021, 2:21 am Cant believe there's people here that think Week 18 will be a "meaningless" game. Sure we may clinch the Division next week and Green Bay may clinch the 1 seed. But Week 18 could STILL be the difference between a 2 and a 4 seed. You're gonna rest starters when that's at stake??? Unbelievable.
We're talking about if all there is to play for is records and stats for Cooper Kupp....
Of course they are going to play all in if they could slip or rise in the seedings or out of the division lead...
It's your own assumptions that end up unbelievable... :P

The record won’t factor in the decision on Kupp. Rams will play their starters if they have something to gain from a team aspect ( improved seeding, home field advantage) but not to try to break any personal records.

Well in the past McVay has rested starters when there is nothing to play for. IF there is nothing to play for would he sit Kupp chasing the records!!! Cooper says Team is more important but that's what he says to the media. He's a competitor and knows he probably isn't going to get this chance again to win all 3 categories!!! Just a discussion question is all!!BrooklynRam74 wrote: ↑December 27th, 2021, 3:57 amThe op is opining if we sit Kupp AND Stafford. Is there any other way to take it?Rampager66 wrote: ↑December 27th, 2021, 2:49 am Nobody but you said that. Here you go again putting words in peoples mouths....

Edit: if the op means in the 4th Quarter of a Blowout or decided game I'll stand corrected.
Actually went to the game yesterday and was pretty pumped up knowing the Rams past performance in Minnesota... The Rams have lost 19 times in Minnesota and won only 3 until yesterday. Other than scoring atleast 30 points in each of their 4 wins in MN.. In all their games they lost there since 1960 they only scored over 21 points once and that was 24. Glad they put up 30 yesterday!

Brooklyn Who knows maybe there is and maybe there's isn't something to play for but it was just a hypothetical question!!! Would love to see Cooper take all 3 but is it worth the possibility of injury... That's all!! Go Rams!!BrooklynRam74 wrote: ↑December 27th, 2021, 6:39 amI just don't see any scenario where the game is nothing to play for.larams84 wrote: ↑December 27th, 2021, 6:19 am Well in the past McVay has rested starters when there is nothing to play for.
