We should have knew in Minny never easy………..
Just frustrating didn’t have to be this hard if both play callers…………..
Good teams though still end up with this result………….
Not there yet though in this game…………

I'd take it,
Ugly win after covid disaster last week and having to go on the road after a short rest, against a solid vikes team.
I'd take it.

Re: Rams @ Vikings Game Thread
As usual, Rams qb has an bad day, after a short week in the road, after overall having a great season and many start trashing him as if nearly every qb in the nfl hasn't had at least one horrible game this year.
One thing for sure this board is consistent
Stafford stinks, Mcvay stinks. Said by many on this board during most games, all the while the rams have the 2nd best record in the nfl.
Find me the team that is playing great football every week? Find me the team taht hasn't had a few clunkers.
Maybe Greeen Bay and Tampa who are both led by Hall of Famers. Wait even Brady had a huge fluker. Ok Green Bay

Re: Rams @ Vikings Game Thread
He has to stop throwing into coverage Cornell. That has nothing to do with current record. As others have said live for another down……….
Don’t get a mulligan for a bad throw 3-4 weeks from now……………

Re: Rams @ Vikings Game Thread
Nobody said McVay stinks, everybody just stunned how he gets away from the run when the run appears to be working. He kept Vikings in the game calling pass plays so deep in our own territory. Our defense bailed us out several times today…. Honorable mention to ST’s. As for Stafford, he definitely crapped the bed. What blows my mind is everyone is dumping on Morris when the defense let up 0 points in first half. Not putting that 3 on them. Once again, like last week, the defense won the game and the offense did JUST enough!DMRamFan wrote: ↑December 26th, 2021, 1:02 pmCan I just add something here 29,Cornell29 wrote: ↑December 26th, 2021, 12:59 pm As usual, Rams qb has an bad day, after a short week in the road, after overall having a great season and many start trashing him as if nearly every qb in the nfl hasn't had at least one horrible game this year.

Today, I said that Stafford has absolutely stunk. Because he has today. Sean finally started running the ball and now we produced the win with it.
But this isn’t the usual Stafford we all know, that is why I am so perplexed. I don’t think a lot of people complain about Stafford every game… But today he was just awful.

Yup even when qb play is horrible, Rams can find ways to win games on the road after a short week.Rampager66 wrote: ↑December 26th, 2021, 1:06 pm I guess we can win in Minnesota after all...
11-4 baby...
Go Rams!
First place in West, and tied for 2nd best record in nfl.

Re: Rams @ Vikings Game Thread
No they didn't use the word "stink", but it was easily implied. Please don't make me pull up posts and thread from the very short past. There are bench Stafford threads, move on from Mcvay threads, fire the front office threads. Rams aren't going to win another game, threads. Rams will only win 9 games this year threads. Rams have no shot at winning the NFC West threads.armyram wrote: ↑December 26th, 2021, 1:13 pmNobody said McVay stinks, everybody just stunned how he gets away from the run when the run appears to be working. Look at that, Rams are now 1st place in NFC West and tied for 2nd best overall record in NFL.
On to Stafford and his horrible day.
Only having 2 full practices in the last 2 weeks can do that to a timing offense, especially Stafford. For example that Titans game came after Stafford didn't do any full practices all week.
The D came through and so did the STs. Good team can win even when one of the 3 facets of the game isn't clicking.

I agree with all of this except I think ST's was the No 1 unit today.armyram wrote: ↑December 26th, 2021, 1:13 pmNobody said McVay stinks, everybody just stunned how he gets away from the run when the run appears to be working. Gay 3 FG's 3 EP's, 4 TB's... Held Vikes Kr's to 16 TOTAL yards on the other 3 KO returns
Hek had 2 punts, one 55 yards the other 53, for a 54 yd avg, 1 was inside the 20, the other to the Vikes 22, both were fair caught = 0 return yards.
And recovered the game clinching onside kick...
Rams had 2 PR's for 75yards and a TD and no KO returns because the Vike kicker had all 6 kicks for Touchback. This is the only ST's stat the Rams didn't win
They were almost flawless and IMO ended up being the difference in the game.

Re: Rams @ Vikings Game Thread
Stafford was a liability today.
Rams rushed for 159 yards.
Rams D held Vikes to only 2 of 12 on 3rd down conversions.
We won today by our running game, defense and ST making up for Stafford crapping the bed.

Re: Rams @ Vikings Game Thread
Rams took care of business. Some things were not pretty but special teams stepping up, running game and the play of the defense were very encouraging.
Rams followed a No Win November with a UNDEFEATED December.
Enjoy the Win. On to Baltimore.

Staff is huge upgrade over goff , but I am not sure he is a long term solution ( say 5 year ) . And it is not one ugly game by him now , it is FOUR . ( AZ 1, 49ers , titans , vikes ) .Cornell29 wrote: ↑December 26th, 2021, 12:59 pm As usual, Rams qb has an bad day, after a short week in the road, after overall having a great season and many start trashing him as if nearly every qb in the nfl hasn't had at least one horrible game this year.

Pretty much and I am not even gonna talk about the picks because only ONE of those 3 picks was his fault , but he kept missing a wide open OBJ all the time , not to mention all the under throws and over throws . Just a terrible game by him . I guess he can forget about all that MVP talk now .

Re: Rams @ Vikings Game Thread
I agree with you on the negative threads, especially when we went through the November skid. Hell, I’ve posted a similar thread as you about all the naysayers. I think I’m one of the only few supporters of Morris. Saying that, lately our defense has been our strong point. IMO only, McVay loves to win by the pass, even if it isn’t working. Yes, Stafford was off today, so go with your strength and don’t force the pass deep in your own territory. As for that one interception for Stafford when he was trying to make a play, no excuses, terrible choice, luckily only ending up in 3 points. Deep throw coming out at half, do more to set it up. Sorry Cornell but the offensive plan was frustrating to say the least.Cornell29 wrote: ↑December 26th, 2021, 1:22 pmNo they didn't use the word "stink", but it was easily implied. Re: Rams @ Vikings Game Thread
Of the four teams that played last Tuesday (Rams, Eagles, Seahawks, WFT), only the Eagles put up reasonably good numbers. But they had the benefit of playing the Giants.
I think, given all the bumps in the road, we did reasonably well these last two weeks. If we escaped with only minor injuries to Jones and Allen, while compiling a realistic list of things we still need to work on, then these last two games will make us a better team in the long run. Bumps and all. Plus the special teams and run game are looking pretty legit.
Eyes on the prize, gentlemen.
