Ok, 3 losses...now it's on to Jacksonville

Post by unclesams »

I'm just as ticked off by this loss as everyone else. Really thought we would beat the Packers today and despite the outcome, and all the mishaps today, we still loss by only one score. Rams could have won that game today if not for a few mistakes. This was a tough loss but next up is Jacksonville and the Rams must handle business and get a win and get to 8 - 4. We have tough games coming up with Arizona, Seahawks, and the Vikings that we must win and we can win. Football is a humbling sport and the Rams have been humbled 3 games in a row now. We need a win and despite the team we play, we just need a win and that may spark something.

Hang in there fellas, it's rough right now and we just need to get a win under our belt and go from there.

I like your take on the overall situation but I never got the sense that the Rams were ever in the game today or the last two weeks of play for that matter. This team has no identity and that comes from the coach whom I used to support and have frankly grown tired of. He just does not see his own limitations and that of his team. He is not playing from strength, he is only reacting and too often now it is a panic reaction. Going for it on 4th down from your own 30 in the first quarter is a sign intervention is required.

Turnovers killed the Rams against GB and have been killing the Rams for these last 3 games...pick six 3 games in a tow is just crazy.....Koski fumbling the ball was a killer.

I thought the defense played fairly well....just could not put enough pressure on Hair bun due to the quick throws.

3rd and 5 and Deayon is playing 10 yds off is a stupid plan

Reeder looked clueless and needs to be replaced

ST's is a disgrace

OBJ is a walking wounded and looks slow

Van Jefferson needs to catch more of those slightly off target throws

Higbee is the forgotten man

Hekker looks like a shot punter

Good points, VJ was our go to guy in this game, he came through pretty much. Stafford is puzzling, long bomb, overthrow, beautiful out pass, behind the receiver…

Unlike the shellackings prior, we were in this one, our defense held them when needed, but couldn’t stop them either. On the other side, they stopped us all day. Our offense is sputtering…
Higs is jittery, Kupp isn’t getting free, pressure constantly… some bright spots, but OBJ is injured also.

I really like Henderson, and think he is a #1 back, we are not getting holes open for him, (pass protection line), plus our play calling is not generated to open up the pass, or if it is, it’s failing… the run is just an after thought, pass happy is maybe the wrong word, more like impatient.

Impatience is costing us ballgames. Going for it on our 30 in the first quarter… impatient

Same old drum, beating slowly, our line play…

I totally agree with you on everything you said, especially with the turnovers. If we had no turnovers, Rams win that game. But the little things like you said Deayon playing 10 yards off the WR when he should have been up in his face playing bump and run is a no brainer. I have no idea why we shipped off Kenny Young for Reeder, that guy is not NFL material and it's not even close. The punter we shipped off to Green Bay should have been our guy, Hekker has gotten worse every year for the past 3 years. And why is Koski even touching the field let alone touching the football??

The bottom line is this, the Rams need to rattle off atleast 3 - 4 wins in a row starting with Jacksonville and I think the winning confidence will go a long way, just got to take it one game and one win at a time because we can beat these teams we have lost to and the teams moving forward.

VJeff stepping up was one of the bright spots on this miserable day.

So was Hendo catching 4 on 4 targets, one for a nice TD.

All 4 of our losses have been comfortable games for our opponents. We have some exceptionally good players but the talent and depth around them is thin. That can't be changed. We're not using our playing resources to their best effect and that can be changed. At this point it's about winning the games we can win and seeing what happens in the playoffs. Come January all the teams will have more injuries and more holes in their systems. It's a resource endurance competition.

Right now we have to beat the teams we can beat and heal up as best we can.

I actually thought the Rams played a pretty good game yesterday on defense....they gave up 2 long drives that ate up a quarter of the game combined....but that is how the defense is designed, to only give up the small stuff and hope for a penalty, a sack, or the offense to get antsy and go for something they shouldn't....if the oppostition stays patient and takes those 5-7 plays they will march it down the field and eat the clock.

On offense the wide outs are the walking wounded....it might be time to steal from somebody's practice squad.....and Stafford is missing by a lot....not just missing but missing by a lot.....Stafford looks lost IMO.

That said....Van Jefferson needs to catch the ball if he gets his hands on it....not all throws are gonna be perfect so suck it up and haul those in if you get your hands on it.

I thought the team looked better and they could have won the game if not for those turnovers and giving GB 3 drives starting inside the Rams 30....but it happened and they lost....BUT that is fixable if the QB gets his head out of his ass.

Im done w them. Bad teams dont make the playoffs and win there. Thats all that matters. Yesterday was my prove it game... and welp, that sure went out the window now didnt it.

We have so much work to do, its not even funny. Its daunting. If we turn this around, ill truly be amazed. Sure, a few losses here and there... but 3 losses in a row and HOW we lost them, what a joke.
totally agree. the way we are playing it won't matter because SF and AZ will absolutely dominate us

How many times do you hear it said? turnovers and penalties will kill you. three weeks in a row to have pick 6's is nuts. I always thought stafford was a good qb but watching his highlights of games over the years, he always seemed to throw picks. Still, much better than Goff but he has to look over these films and decide not to throw in some close situation. loosing robert woods doesn't help things at all. Still, they will make the playoffs and then? who knows

You know, I don't even care because I know what's gonna happen. We're gonna do some stupid shit as always, and we'll lose. And then dumb ass McVay will say the same ole bullshit like he always does, and won't do anything to fix it. I'm done. Just win a damn game without looking stupid.
