Hands of stone
Aaron Donald's hands should be registered as lethal weapons. That's two times now that he has made contact with a QB's hand and afterwards surgery was required. First Brees, now Wilson.

Yes, it's kind of funny, last year Wilson took out Donald when he fell on Donald and hurt his ribs and this year Donald returns the favor and takes him out

Re: Hands of stone
I never saw him fight live but I went to a closed circuit showing of Duran v Palomino at the Olympic Auditorium. Sat next to Robert Duvall who was wearing a Mexican wedding shirt.
I remember that and eating at Phillipe The Original’s beforehand but all I remember about the fight was it was at MSG and Duran won.

Re: Hands of stone
He certainly quit, frustrated that Sugar Ray did not want to stand in with him and go toe-to-toe (with constant holding by Leonard) as he did when Duran beat him in Montreal.
Instead Ray, with his lightning moves, knew that if he wanted to win he had to dance and score with ineffectual tags, disgusting Duran.
After eight rounds of being tagged by the showboat, Duran said ‘no mas’ and went out to dinner.
After the first fight, Ray went to the hospital.

Re: Hands of stone
Ray stood in with Marvin Hagler and beat him in a great bout.
He learned he couldn’t beat Duran that way so he put on a dance exhibition with ineffectual tags and the only people who were happy were people who haven’t a clue about what constitutes a great fight.
THIS is a good fight that becomes epic in the 4th round because these men knew that boxing is nothing without effective punches. It makes Leonard/Duran II look like a bikini car wash.

IMO it's debatable Leonard beat Hagler. controversial fight. man those guys were awesome to watch...hagler, leonard, duran and Hearns....harkin wrote: ↑October 11th, 2021, 9:25 am Ray stood in with Marvin Hagler and beat him in a great bout.

Re: Hands of stone
That seems as though Roberto Duran was admitting that he had no effective 'counter' to Sugar Ray Leonard's fight strategy, I'd venture.harkin wrote: ↑October 11th, 2021, 3:50 am He certainly quit, frustrated that Sugar Ray did not want to stand in with him and go toe-to-toe (with constant holding by Leonard) as he did when Duran beat him in Montreal.

Certainly Leonard wasn't required to employ tactics which hadn't worked in their first match, and which played to Duran's strengths, was he...?? :? :P
