Re: Seriously wtf up by 14 and its 4th and 3 why go for it?
That play was awful & Ferguson was so slow it looked like he was scared / perfect example of trying to be too cute.

Re: Seriously wtf up by 14 and its 4th and 3 why go for it?
Very well put DelMar - mirrors my thoughts on things where you do not want to come off complaining about a W but the shocking delivery of a product that just does not seem “ buttoned up” in any facet of the game. It runs the entire gamut of bizarre play calls , execution, strange roles for players ...

Cowherd off Rams - Out of top 10
Long time McVay/Rams homer Colin Cowherd has relegated Rams out of his Top 10 for many of the issues discussed on this forum. He has New England/Seattle/ Pittsburgh/Colts all ahead of the Rams. Noted sloppy play in each game, poor IOLine, too Puca centric with this player possibly out, RB ball ...

Re: Xavier Smith as a WR
Well put Big K - IMO Whitt is an asset who should be developed - more ops for him could mean more ball security and the Jags could be in for a surprise. Excellent spot and game for McVay to break out of his predictable mode.

Re: Coleman Shelton is TERRIBLE.
What is amusing in the Rams drama around the C position & the Shelton/Limmer situation is Ram OL Coach is former NE Pats C/ G Ryan Wendell. I thought this would lead to development of Limmer as our future C with some hands on tutelage at the position. Coleman has regressed and Limmer appears to be ...

Re: Run Blocking Needs to Improve
I agree - Shelton is weak @ C but both are Guards have run block skills with good size. It could be technique they are being taught ? Our RB duo does not move the pile in short yardage and at this point McVay has no plan or desire to get/use bigger-stronger RB in his O philosophy. It may cost us at ...

Re: Young
I am not paying the salaries of these guys BUT Verse & Young as a tandem should stay together as long as possible- real question will be 2 young emerging stars on D playing for an “ O is King” HC.

There are inept Coaching Staffs in the NFL
I admit to taking a few swipes at the coaching moves of our Sean McVay but despite a few warts he belongs - and then some. Living outside of New York I get a slobbergest of New York football talk and the two NFL franchises they have do not have a legit HC between them. After watching Jets HC Glenn ...

Re: There are inept Coaching Staffs in the NFL
I think you are dead on with HC being anything but a crap shoot even for the most accomplished of coordinators - some guys are just better at being Robin and not Batman. I was thrilled when Spags was hired for the Rams - different deal then of course but wow things went sideways - and there are many ...

Early Draft Prospect : Kayden Proctor OT
A name for you my Ram Brothers : Kayden Proctor OT Alabama is 6”7” 366 lbs with 24 % body fat . Weight Room numbers just incredible @ 815 squat and 535 Bench. Long write up in Draft Buzz gives great detail . Called a 366 lb athlete who may have the best measureables of any player they had evaluated ...

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
Guess there not many of us left who remember that 1975 playoff game - Harris had no business in that game. Always my opinion the Rams had the best team in the NFL for several years in the 1970s but were out coached or in done by poor Special Teams. They had good players backing up good players ...

Re: is the defense disappointing
Our D sucked today and it does matter . Jones had a career day vs our D . No pass rush whatsoever with ZERO sacks.

Re: Landman/Speights/Lake
Great post that is spot on - I would add that Landman & Lake seem to me to be the Leaders of our D unit both spiritually and between the lines.

Re: is the defense disappointing
Sorry but this was not a good D effort - 1 Sack in the past 2 games with very little pressure. Going forward if the front 7 do not discover a pass rush - especially vs Darnold ( a better QB than Mac Jones) and Seattle, the Rams will be in serious trouble as we hit the meat of a hard schedule.

Good point B K - not a big KW fan BUT this smallish RB will dig in and take on anyone in blitz pickup - anyone.

What is wrong with our Pass Rush ?
It may be fatigue or opponents getting the ball out very quickly of late, but our pass rush seems slow and ineffective in the past few games. Young has great stats but Verse & Fiske are not generating pressure or sacks as compared to last season. Verse does not seem as violent or sudden as last ...

Re: What is wrong with our Pass Rush ?
I started this topic as a legit rhetorical question based on the performance of our pass rush to date. I accept that one plausible answer to the question is a coaching scheme by Shula . We are 7-2 and very successful in scoring D. I am not a huge blind believer in PFF grades for our front 7 ...

Jared Verse
I have watched Verse specifically on our D and do not see the same effort or player this year. There are several plays where upon the snap of the ball he simply stands opposite the OT and does not power rush or speed rush to the QB ? Some have said it is a contain assignment (?) but it is a frequent ...

Re: Jared Verse
We have to accept the D concept being applicable to the opponent we face - I get that but yesterday from the early second quarter to the early 4th this style turned the Rams O into spectators on the sidelines. O production was reduced greatly by lack of O possessions due to Seattle ball control. It ...

Rams D now a force
Saw a real change in Rams D vs Tampa Bay that was truly welcome. It seems our secondary has morphed into a coverage improved, solid tackling, deep group of aggressive athletes that has emerged just in time. Shula is dialing up a more aggressive tighter script that all of the players seem to enjoy ...

Re: OL PFF grades
Dead on Big K in terms of Shelton - he is undersized and needed tons of help last night on Vita Vea ( make no mistake Vea is a true beast and cannot be rooted out without major assistance by most any Center). An upgrade @ C would be my move - In fact , a premier LT with the first #1 pick AND moving ...

Re: Hope the Rams Stay Humble
Good points - but - 1 game at a time is the only way to go from here on out. Keeping the ship on this course is ALL on McVay . It is a 6 game season with everything on the line.

Re: 3rd and 5 and we play zone.
Down the toilet HF chances go - Had to play a 6 game schedule to be a special year - not going to happen / if we make the playoffs we will be on the road trying to survive with 7 other teams. Very simply Rams were out coached and not prepared to play a VERY important game.

Re: Run Defense
This is dead on accurate. Run D we employ is small by NFL standards and cannot stop down hill run heavy teams. Seattle played this way and gashed us on the ground and kept our O in the sideline. Based on our inability to stop it today we will see a lot more of it in the future. We Ram nearly no O ...
