Josh Kroenke Fires Nuggets Coach / GM (3 games before playoffs)

Post by DelMar »

The Kronk's do not mess around, my goodness... I have never seen anything like this, and you know whatever the coach and GM did, it was serious.

To fire your championship winning coach and GM 3 games before the playoffs is to the extreme. This tells me that no coach/GM is safe in Kronk World. You best believe Snead and McVay take notice of this. They know they have done a good job, but stuff like this, keeps everyone who works for Kronk World to keep things tight and there is no slacking off.

Be interesting why the firing occurred... I am sure TMZ will have something soon. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I would love to understand more about the situation, but this does scream that sitting on your past performance may not be enough. Similar to Jeff Lurie (Wagles Owner) firing Doug Pedersen (Eagles SB winning HC).

Shanny should be happy that Stan went with Mcvay over him, bc he would have been fired by now, if he was tbe Rams HC without a SB win.

Great post. I heard they had been fired but did not realize the implications.

Listen to the Sac Kings flag ship last 2 hours while heading to Sacramento. They are saying has bathing to do with W/L record. How could it. It was Kroenke being fed up that neither could get along with each other as well as Malone not getting along with many in front office. Supposedly he talked to both about it months ago and it was only getting worse. He had enough even this late in season.

Malone has been pissed for a while that they let the GM in Minnesota out the door. He was the one who put the current roster together. They said here this morning that Malone was in all likelihood getting fired after the season because they really like Adleman.

Sac flag ship said also it was a known fact that Malone wasn’t speaking to the Kings GM when the Kings fired him. Great coach they said but beyond difficult to get along with.

Unless McVay n Sneed all of a sudden………..

It's gotta run deeper than not getting along. Something happened. You don't usually see owners trying to micromanage a coach that's delivered a title and has the team in contention for perhaps another. At this point, why wouldn't you wait til the off season and let 3 more games and the playoffs play out. By doing it now imo, they've torched the Nuggets season and maybe their immediate future. Something harsh must have happened to trigger this move right now....

It’s all Sac radio is talking about. They had Sam Amick on this morning. He said everything that is right about Malone is what is wrong about him. He said no one, including Josh Kroenke questions how good of a coach he is. But Kroenke had enough of first him n the GM not getting along, again he talked to both in December is what has been reported, and Malone’s bristle demeanor towards many in the front office and staff in general.

Amick also said this morning that players were worn out that every lost was another moment for Malone to be the same with them. Was fine when he was trying to set the tone when he was hired to get to where they eventually got. Was not necessary now with a veteran group that has proven themselves. Amick said the issue was really not with Kroenke n Malone but Kroenke just being fed up with how Malone treated many in the organization.

what little I have listened about this I agree with you. There is only so many times the owner warns you about playing nice when he finally says I am done and moves on. Karma IMO

Agree. All I have listened to the last 2 days said Kroenke was more than fair with Malone in saying hey you don’t have to like him but you need to work with him. Same with GM. And being an ass constantly with proven vet players well that is tolerated only so long.

If all true I don’t blame Kroenke at all even this late in season.
