Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
Keep an eye on Jesse Minter (Chargers DC)... Apparently he's the top pic so far to take over Raiders as he also a Michigan man. NOT Shula. Dang it.

Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
I think the team in the worst spot and the absolute least desirable coaching job is Arizona.
Why?
Well, it's the Cardinals for one and to add insult to injury, you have the Kyler Murray Question/Problem.
The Cardinals have the No. 3 pick in the draft, which is good. But they have a major problem on their roster in that they don't know what to do about Murray.
Arizona is expected to move on from Murray soon, and will come with significant dead money salary cap ramifications for a team that is only middle-of-the-pack in cap space as is and is always watching its financial bottom line.
Key Financial Triggers:
2025: His 2025 salary, roster bonus, and other bonuses became fully guaranteed in early 2025.
2026: His $19.5 million base salary for 2027 becomes fully guaranteed on the fifth day of the 2026 league year, if he's still on the roster.
Financial Implications:
Releasing Murray before June 1st, 2026, would result in a significant dead cap hit, around $57.8 million.
These guarantees make releasing or trading him financially complex for the Cardinals, especially with the front office/coaching staff being new since he signed the deal.

Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
A few thoughts……….
I don’t know why the Raiders would hire a defensive coach as their next HC if Mendoza is the pick as well as how much overall offensive help they need………………
Some here think Saleh would convent the AZ job. I agree though on Murray. I wouldn’t want the job knowing I’m stuck with him probably for another year…………..
I think the Atlanta HC job is a damn attractive one. Some good pieces in place in a not so good division………….
I don’t see how the rams don’t lose someone from their offensive staff. I heard the Raiders have interest in our passing game coordinator………..

Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
Agree on Atlanta, imo, that is the most attractive job... they have a good foundation of players, and an owner who will spend the cash when needed.NorCal RF wrote: ↑January 5th, 2026, 12:17 pm A few thoughts……….

Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
I said to myself last night the loser of this game may be getting rid of their long time HC. Tomlin though I think it would be by his doing and I think it could still happen…………….DelMar wrote: ↑January 5th, 2026, 12:54 pm Ravens considering letting Harbaugh walk.

Yep, and imo, Harbaugh would just like last years Mike Vrabel.NorCal RF wrote: ↑January 5th, 2026, 12:58 pmI said to myself last night the loser of this game may be getting rid of their long time HC. He'd be snatched up so quick and also demand a high salary.

Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
Kingsbury and Whitt out as Commanders coordinators
Kliff just cant catch a break... I sure bet he regrets screwing over USC not long ago...
I wonder if the Raiders or Titans are going to go after him now?.. then at what? Head Coach or OC...

Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
Is DC Schwartz also leaving Cleveland? I’ve always liked him as a DC.
I can picture Jonathon Gannon returning to his Cleveland roots and being the Browns DC.
I could even picture Schwartz or Gannon being the Rams DC if Shula leaves.

Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
I’m reading that the Browns owner really wants to keep Schwartz as DC. They may even consider him as HC to keep him………..

Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
I'd like to see Harbaugh go to the Raiders. I think he could turn them around and it would be fun to watch the two brothers go at it in the AFC West. There's talk of trading Crosby and doing a complete tear down but I wouldn't necessarily go that route if they got Harbaugh.

Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
My suggestion (for starters) for McDaniels here when interviewing for new jobs, maybe not look like that drug kingpin in Miami Vice, who moves large amounts of cocaine. Just a thought.
Guys like Mike here, and Kingsbury just need to stick to OC jobs... some aren't build to lead an entire team.

Re: NFL Coaching Updates:
Imo he will get another chance to be a HC. So many openings, and rumors is Miami fired him to make room for Harbaugh. I'm thinking Kingsbury get a OC job. Keep a eye on Josh McDaniels, he might get another chance at a HC job.DelMar wrote: ↑January 8th, 2026, 10:44 amMy suggestion (for starters) for McDaniels here when interviewing for new jobs, maybe not look like that drug kingpin in Miami Vice, who moves large amounts of cocaine.
