Other than screwing up the Rams pick. Rams would have to beat the cards even if they beat Atl. Rams had no shot at the 1st seed after losing to Seattle bc Seattle won today.
Rams just have to win tomorrow and the 5th seed in good weather (Tampa) will be the wild card game. Or they play Carolina, who imo is a weaker team than Tampa, despite the earlier loss.

No because if Atlanta beats the Saints at home then Carolina is in anyway. And Atlanta is favored by -3.5Cornell29 wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2026, 8:14 pm Other than screwing up the Rams pick. Rams will destroy AZ tomorrow. We don’t know who we face. Based on Atl and NO game. I’d rage face Carolina. TB has a better team.

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
Ok same thing, ATL game still didn't matter, bc if Rams win they are the 5th seed, regardless on who they play. I still think Carolina is the weaker team vs Tampa, despite them beating the Rams earlier in the year.Truth wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2026, 8:19 pmNo because if Atlanta beats the Saints at home then Carolina is in anyway. Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
Rams screwed themselves by losing to Seattle. If we had won against Seattle, then beaten Atlanta the following week we could have rested our starters this week, had a first round bye next week, home field throughout the playoffs, and a better draft pick in next years draft.
Now we can all blame it on the officiating or whatever else we want to blame it on but the bottom line is we had a 21 point lead late in the game and McVay took his foot off the gas. That can't happen in the playoffs if we expect to win.

That Seattle screw up was huge. So was the screw up vs Carolina before that. Throw in the screwups vs Niners and Eagles too.
3 of those games, Rams win if they had a decent special teams but Mcvay head was up his buddy Chase rear all year.

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
If they would have beaten Atlanta they could have rested their guys vs Arizona. So one week of rest and draft position is ultimately what they lost. Plus if they’d beaten Atlanta then they’d for sure be playing at Tampa instead of probably at Carolina again

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
Not true
They had to win against Arizona even if they beat Atl. If Rams beat Atl, they would be 12-4 right now. If they lose to Arizona, despite beating Atl, they would be 12-5. Tied with SF, but lose the division tie breaker. (2nd tie breaker after head to head).
By beating Arizona, even after losing to ATL, they still finish tie (12-5) with Niners, have the same division record, but win the common opponents, which is the next tie breaker. ATL game only mattered if Niners won against Seattle
I have no issue with Rams playing Carolina again, vs Tampa. Both are beatable, despite Rams losing to Carolina earlier

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
Rams Atl game as of tonight since SF lost means nothing other than Atl draft positioning. Even that at end of day will be 3-4 spots at most if Atl wins tomorrow.
Going into MNF game, best Rams could be was 5. Same as tonight.

I'd be REAL careful about making those sort of claims the way the Rams are playing at the momentSoCalRam78 wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2026, 8:23 pm Rams will destroy AZ tomorrow. We don’t know who we face. Based on Atl and NO game. I’d rage face Carolina. TB has a better team.

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
Losing to both Atlanta and Carolina is what cost us the 1 seed AFAIC. The Loss to Seattle wouldn't have meant a damn thing.
We still win the Tiebreak over the Hags if we're both 14-3... Both those losses could end up being to non playoff teams.
And I wouldn't count out the Saints. They are on a 4 game winning streak and playing their best ball of the season.
Falcons are on a 3 game win streak so their both playing well.. should be a good match-up

Really? That loss didn't mean anything to you? Why bother even play the regular season and just start at the playoffs using a lottery seeding system? lol Some of you guys are insane. Plus we still have to beat the Cards, remember?

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
Yes Carolina and Atl together mattered. Rams screwed up the season with that lost to Carolina followed by Seattle. The damage was done, bye week and division was gone. ATL game no longer matteredRampager66 wrote: ↑January 4th, 2026, 8:30 amLosing to both Atlanta and Carolina is what cost us the 1 seed AFAIC. The Loss to Seattle wouldn't have meant a damn thing.

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
No it didn't.
Rams screwed up when they lost to Carolina followed by Seattle (nail in coffin). Rams had to play atl to win, just in case Niners beat Seattle. In hindsight the game meant nothing bc Seattle won.
Today's game means something. 5th place is on the line

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
I didn't really mind the Carolina loss (relatively speaking). It happens. The Seattle game was the problem, and then losing to Atlanta was the icing on the cake. To have a great team play like crap and give away games is just unacceptable. And on top of all of it we gave away draft position. Just terrible.

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
Even now this ATL lost meant nothing. If Rams would have beat Seattle, they would be 1st seed.
Losing to Seattle, and beating ATL and Cards, means nothing.
Rams just needed to beat Seattle and the Cards and failed
Oh well
Carolina here we come

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
freak stuff, they finished 4-0 winning 4 games by a combined 13 points, beating Rams and TB in the process.
could be worse.. could be Detroit, 5/6 losses were by 1 possession, lost 5 games at one point by 29 points combined (under 5 points per loss) Steelers, Rams, Eagles, Packers, Vikings (went 3-6 in that 9 game stretch)

Re: So the ATL game didn't mean squat
Cost the Rams one spot in draft. At 7-10, Atl would have picked 12.
So game was pretty meaningless. Rams still got the 5.
