Rams division winning scenarios

Post by ADonaldBeast »

If we lose to either Falcons or Cardinals

Seahawks must lose both their last two and 9ers must lose to both Colts and Bears but beat Seattle. Rams and Hawks would be 12-5 9ers 11-6 and we would own division tiebreak with 4-2 record vs hawks 3-3;. This obviously is the least likely scenario.

If we win out

Seahawks lose to Panthers

9ers can't win out. If 9ers beat Colts/Bears but lose to Seattle. Rams would be 13-4 Seahawks 13-4. Under this scenario both teams would share a 4-2 division record but Rams would have only 3 losses vs common opponents Seahawks would have 4.

If 9ers beat Colts and Bears but lose to Seattle and Seahawks and Rams finish 13-4 under this scenario Rams would have 4-2 division record vs Seahawks 3-3.

Seahawks beat Panthers

9ers then must lose to either Colts or Bears and then beat Seattle. Again under this scenario Rams and Hawks tie at 13-4 and Rams have better division record of 4-2 vs 3-3.

Barring us losing to Falcons or Cards, we'll be the 5 seed and I like our chances playing either the Bucs or Panthers and then probably going to Seattle in the divisional round. Seahawks don't want us in a rematch game in that scenario and I'm sure the Rams would relish a chance to go back up to Seattle and knock them out of the playoffs. If 9ers are 7 seed and they win the wild card and divisional round we would host the NFC championship as a 5 seed. Now that would mean we would play GB or Chicago or possibly Philly in divisional instead of Hawks. I like us playing Seattle instead of those cold weather games back east.

If you know your history the Broncos in '97 had to go on the road to get to the Super Bowl but everyone knew they were the best team in the AFC and I see the Rams in the same breath. We are the best team on paper we dominated that game until the collapse and let's see how this plays out.

Carolina Sea is biggest game left. Sea beats Carolina and SF loses 1 of two, SF can’t win division last weekend and really only playing for WC seeding. SF wins both were done for division.
